CRKT continues its upward momentum with the Slacker.  Ultra lightweight, fast, good looking, and a great clip.  Downside might be the steel choice, discussed.  A few fun competitive options shown too!  A short discussion the super cool Lady of the Dark P61 Black Widow is found here too.

Nice little knife. I noticed Ken Onion does a lot of designs for CRKT. It's like Andrew Demko to Cold Steel. I'm sure there are many other designers that have exclusive partnerships with manufacturers. The only other CRKT knife I have is the Hootenanny that was given to me by the Late Boy Scout. It's also a Ken Onion design.

Great review, I love lightweight knives. In fact, most often I find myself carrying my Spyderco Manix Lightweight Culteryshoppe Orange. I dig that P51 Black Widow too.

I agree, Ken has some intriguing designs. It's nice to see CRKT making a comeback these last few years.

I have the Massdrop Boker FR and it is a truly great blade. I also like the CRKT CEO. After a year and a half of use, it has never let me down. Matter of fact, I just ordered the green micarta version with the D2 blade from BHQ. It fits right in, in the office, in the field or just at the burger place to get a better cut than the plastic wanna-knife.

Also, my grandfather was part of the assembly team for the P61 back in the 40/50s. He also served in the south pacific during WW2. My Boppy was an AMAZING man. He could do it all. I once saw him shoot a jack rabbit through the eyes from about 25 yards with a Ruger 22mag wheel gun when I was about 8 years old. He is the one that learn'ed me to shoot. I miss him immensely

Sometimes I think the steel choice is a lot more second cool than first cool. Let’s be honest, the average guy does little more than open amazon packages and cut off tags with their knives. Of course there are some exceptions but I think the quality of steel rarely makes a true difference.

After carrying knives for several years now I have become a weight snob too. If it is for LPAC EDC, it cannot be above 5 ounces - below 4 ounces preferably. These days with Antifa a-holes, I will go up to 6 ounces with a Recon 1 or Frenzy.

CRKT has been taking over my duty gear. Been carrying the Provoke, Clever Girl folder, Williams tactical pen and their trauma shears daily.

The sideline discussion of models and their namesake inspiration(s) is a enjoyable part of the Nuntfancy equation. Two knives are typical part of EDC; small pocket knife paired with 3-4" fixed blade. The Slacker certainly appears to qualify for the former category. Vote Burgess Owens for Congress. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

I've got more crkt knives than any other strictly on the basis of price/value with even a little cool factor. In fact, I carry my ceo 29 or more days a month along with another duty folder. I love my Ken Onion Hi Jinx $29, uh yeah. Board up all your doors and windows...TRUMP 2020

The climate freak/hypocrite Greta Thunberg appreciates you using your CEO instead of plastic

I may yet look into this. That is a light knife! A good competitor to my Spyderco tenacious, but 1.2 oz lighter— hard to imagine a 30% reduction like that.

The CEO is fantastic. I’m probably going to give a bunch of the non D2 versions out at xmas, but 100% bought that one for myself. Love it.

I have never had to scrape wax off my apples. but I live in New York and about 2 miles from the farm stand.
