Come on into the TNP Bunker for another rant session if you dare.  No doubt we will depart once again from the usual bought and paid reviews you may have seen on this gun.  The CZ Bren 2MS is hyped a lot on the interweb and it does look cool.  But we have a way of cutting through the crap here and SAVING you money on bad weapon systems.

The Bren 2MS will be evaluated along the same lines we do we all other Braced Pistol Options (BPO) and tactical carbines.  It held several nasty surprises for us.  Several key design flaws are identified here; some probably cannot be fixed with this monolithic rail design.

TacticalDoodle is here too as we give you yet another fun and hopefully money saving GRV!

Pedro

I love the rants and BS cutting of these video game type guns. Should be a fun watch.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

I like this rifle from what I've seen on the net. Let's see what nutn and td say lol.

Matt

I briefly shot this gun and liked it. Can't wait to watch the review tonight. Based on the description I sense it's going to get railed.🤣

Rick W

Best part of having Covid.... lay in bed, uninterrupted, watching Nutnfancy video’s!

Outrider950

I have the 8” 2s 5.56, the 11” 2s x39 and 9” 2Ms x39. The 8” 2s 55.6 is a hoot. The 9” 2Ms x39 is a train wreck and is now at CZ for the second time. They are going to swap it out for an 11” 2Ms 5.56. The 11” 2s x39 is as yet unfired since I was having so many problems with the 9” 2Ms x39. Ya. It has been a bit of a disappointment. I can’t wait to see what you have to say when I get an opportunity to sit down and watch the festivities.

Grant kendall

As a Bren 2 owner I couldn't agree more with how disappointing it was to spend 1800 for that shitty end cap. The only redeeming factor was that I always intended to throw on an ACR stock adapter which completely fixes the issue. (except that you have to have an allen key to field strip BOO) I also replaced the rail with a longer, lighter, one piece HB industries rail. Still though, completely unacceptable to expect consumers to send good money after bad. Bernt Ryggs

*totally off topic* Doodle's looking good! I'm not his mother, but he was looking a little too thin for a bit there. Had me worried about the poor guy. Whatever you're doing with your health brother, keep it up!

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Dang, nutn laying out the truth. I suddenly don't like it anymore.

NatvMan

I stick with my DI gun I modeled after Nutns best AR 15 vid. 18" Odin works barrel, that things shoots lights out.

Outrider950

Just an FYI. There are some serious issues with the x39 variant.

David Gaines

Honestly, I’m here just for the rants.

Rick Grad

$1,800 could probably almost built the TNP SPR from a few years back, and I would much rather own that rifle any day. I know the CZ Bren is a totally different rifle, but if you are going to spend that kind of money, at least get an epic rifle right?

Aceman1126

Copy paste from my yt comment: Was excited for this video and kinda knew how it was gonna go. I am a owner of a 14" bren 2 and I agree with most points in the video with a few caveats. One thing not mentioned was 2nd cool at all. The whole entire reason I got this was 2nd cool. It's as close to the military version as you can get here and that's cool to me. I have 10 different ARs. I have Aks. I have the weird hybrid of the two known as the galil. I have a tavor. Love them all. I have all my GTW gear long since ironed out and tested. The Bren 2ms I got cause I had trump bucks and wanted something other than another AR but could still run my 40+ AR mags and 5.56 ammo. I seriously would have gotten a beretta arx or aug if I could have found one. Couldn't find them so I got this knowing about the end cap issue beforehand. If this is the only gun you are planning to get it's a fail. If you want a non ar lego gun to play with and think its just cool then go for it. The above video makes all the relevant points to consider and is appreciated and respected even though I have a bren 2ms. If you have a problem with the truth you need to check your bias and reevaluate your agenda. Knowing what I know about the bren2ms and seeing this video would I buy it again? Maybe. But only cause I just think it's cool. It's like a mac10 or tec 9... limited practicality but just cool to me.

Johnathon Akers

I saw this coming, when I first looked at the CZ Bren2 pistols I knew that was going to be a weak point. You have to remember these pistols were made for the US market, so it was an afterthought on the design of the rear retention system where the buffer tube screws on. Now, I did buy a Bren 2 carbine, different design and happy to say that I love the rifle. Somehow I knew the curse of the desert would break the pistol, maybe review the Carbine version.

Rick Grad

Great minds. I typed my comment out and when the page refreshed...I noticed your comment. I've watched that vid probably a dozen times...and I send friends who want to built to it for reference:)

RobK

Video locks up at 39:53 for a few seconds.

Lon N

Note to firearm manufacturers: If it don't go bang, it ain't a gun. Thanks for another awesome GRV in a data-point rich environment.

Morefast

TD wins next season of AGT with Swedish impersonations.

Outrider950

The wiggle between the receiver and end plate is truly unforgivable. I’m not sure why they did that but it sucks. The original imported variants... the 2s were a bit lighter. As I understand it; CZ USA didn’t like that variant because it didn’t have front HG modularity....enter the 2Ms. I have spent most of my time with one of the x39 variants because it has been giving me problems. The other remains unfired. The 8” 2s 5.56 has been a lot of fun. Mine has both the Dan Haga 1913 end plate/JMac Customs bar with Gearhead Works mod 1c brace which totally removed the wiggle problem....and makes me giggle. I also have the Dan Haga adapter for the ACR stock/Gearhead Works mod 1c brace. It has not yet been installed so I can’t speak to its pros/cons. Has anybody here tried it yet? The plastic thing that came off of your gun causing that goat rodeo of which sagas will be written....holy crap! I just can’t unsee that.

Connor Murphy

RANT ON, NUTN! Thanks for all the work you put into this for us.

RY

really well done review

Ace Invasive

Saved me from a bad purchase. Thanks!

Nick Campbell

Always been interested in this platform and I would have never guessed at these issues based on other guntubers. Thanks for keeping it real. On another note I’d love to see an update on the MCX given the warmness of your initial review and the eventual problems you experienced. Sig has made changes and I’d love to hear if your excitement about the platform stands/was renewed given the generational update to the “Virtus.” Edit: commenting with 10 minutes left in the vid. Lol, can see that the MCX is still a recommend. Would still love more content around it as it’s always been my at the top of my list as far as non AR platforms go if I ever had the money to throw at such a thing.

Colin Sharp

have about 2k of various ammo through and ran rough to say the least. Bren definitely had its short comings with the adapter. Aftermarket fixes every issues or gripe I've ever had with gun. With that being the adapter and rail size. No mechanical issues with mine.

Cali Carrier

Honestly don’t buy gear unless it has TNP stamp of approval. Fun to watch another rant, it makes you appreciate HOF gear more.

Charles New

Sweet blue swiss legend watch.

Joooosh

My x39 stove pipes all the time... such a bummer.

Joshua S

I feel like random receiver separation is something that would happen to Mr Bean if he stumbled into rifle qualification. Then again, it might be safer for everyone else.

Outrider950

My 9” was stove piping. I sent it back to CZ and it came back during the early days of COVID. I just recently continued testing and it was getting progressively worse and cases were making 180 degrees of rotation prior to exiting the ejection port. The case mouths impacting so hard that the extractor was getting wedged inside the case. Back to CZ it went.

The Nutnfancy Project

"...Would still love more content around it as it’s always been my at the top of my list as far as non AR platforms go if I ever had the money to throw at such a thing." Glad that I included the MCX for ya'. Our enthusiasm has not waned. It's a great platform, a top non AR pick here.

Rafael Rodriguez

This gun has you legit pissed off!!! I haven’t seen you this riled up in a while. I’m so happy you reviewed it dude. I’ve been wanting one of these for a while. I WAS a couple weeks away from purchasing it. Thanks for the save.

The Nutnfancy Project

As I go thru our completed GRVs, it would seem we did have another Summer Fails Event; lots of guns sucking! Oh well we root for their success but we ain't gonna lie about it! Thanks Calie.

Rafael Rodriguez

Totally random, But if you guys are interested in outstanding value, BUY THE PALMETTO STATE ARMORY CHF 18” 223 WYLDE!!!! It’s the FN barrel. I swear on my son’s life, the damn thing shoots American eagle M855 slightly under 1 Moa with a 6x scope, on a bipod, with their Nickel boron coated trigger. That’s pretty damn impressive for a cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel. Extreme durability with zero compromise in accuracy for $329!!!

The Nutnfancy Project

They will! CZ wrote me off years ago. A good way to know which YT Guntubers are on the take: if they are featured anywhere on their website chances are it's TPA. Not certain but high percentage I have found.

Rafael Rodriguez

That price is for the full upper minus the charging handle and bcg.

Maplebrew

Feel like I just watched my fav movie “Good Bad and Ugly” but the main character is the villain who deceived you from the opening. Total let down. Trump 2020 Cleveland OH!!

David Goodridge

You could pair this with the UTS-15 shotgun. It would be a killer pair

Sean Savoy

Weird. Patreon must have deleted my comment. I said my Bren 2 was for collecting and went with the 8” for full novelty. I will always choose the AR for my go to. CZ collection is just that. I do love me some 805 too. Heavy is the recipe for both 805 and 2. It is a great option for the lefty. Just heavy.

OpFor

Add it to the pile of stuff that isn't as good as an AR while being much more expensive and trying to do the same thing.

Mike R

I was looking at a MCX, but now with the Brownells BRN-180’s coming out I really want to see how those are. Hopefully you can review one I was thinking it would be great for a truck gun to have a short barrel that you have a folding pistol brace for ultra compactness. Yet still be able to fire if need be without unfolding the brace if need be and stay legal in some places where you can have a pistol in the car, but not a loaded rifle.

Aaron Gross

Nutin keep doing what you’re doing! Thanks for the honesty and entertainment

Evan Talbott

Love you videos! I haven’t watched this yet I will later but I purchased a bren 2 in 7.62x39 and it’s been nothing but hot garbage. Multiple malfunctions and I will be sending it back to cz for either a refund or the 5.56 version

J Ram

Thank you for making a video that makes me feel much much better about my Ruger SR762 AR10 purchase lol!! Especially when you brought out the target results!!! Wow.....simply wow. Btw, I'm stealing TD's analogy...."all the meat is there, it's just in the wrong place!!!" You guys have me dying laughing!! Great video sirs!

Racing Psychosis

LOL.....cough......LOL! That looks like such a ......

Jacob Leage

How did it shoot? Who cares?? You had to duct tape the receivers together.

Andrettski

OMG, CZ apparently didn't put this through field testing trials. I assume that's why Gunnies had a used one for you to test? Something like Gorilla tape just takes the rifle to a whole new tacticool level

Andrettski

CZ Bren 2MS owners, "No no, it's all good". As Jim Biden once chuckled "Plausible deniability". A polymer lower? Holy hell CZ. That rifle must feel so out of balance and just awkward. Great vid guys

Derek W Tiller

my stag model 3 didn't need to be shimed and after 10 years there's no tape holding it together. for that price I could have bought two and had money left over for optics and ammo!

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

@Rick W, I'm sorry you have covid! Although incredibly careful, I still got it. Felt like bad flu except with quintuple vision and vertigo. Felt like the Lazyboy was going to throw me on the floor. I'm glad you're able to have a Nutnfancy Fest! Keep resting and feel better soon.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

A good Nutn and TD rant is worth gold! Even tho I'd never buy this gun anyway, I like to be able to warn people I like, and smile a wicked smile when people I don't like buy it.

Joooosh

Mine too man. Picked it up cuz I thought it’d be a nice medium between my akm and ar. Buuuuut it just stove pipes all day.

Joooosh

@outrider950 on reddit people have been drilling new gas ports in the gas plug. I wonder if that fixes the issue. I took the bolt apart on mine and found that the bushing that sits within the extractor spring had been chewed up from compression of the spring. I cleaned up that bushing up and reassembled. Haven’t taken it back out to the range to test it out yet though.

Jay

This is a much more interesting POU discussion in 7.62x39 given the lack of competitive options in that caliber. This gun can be a great suppressor host. The end cap design is terrible. I believe this is indicative of an opportunistic half-hearted civilian adaption. Same can be said about the lack of relief cuts in the receiver, which are in the military version, and the handguard design that only allows for one m-loc slot compared to the two in the military S version. I have a 14" MS in x39 that has been flawless through 1200 mostly suppressed rounds and an 11" S x39 that has erratic ejection with coated ammo. The ability to shut the gas off with subs is a big draw for me. The S has relief cuts in the receiver and the handguard is part of the receiver, so it is lighter. But, it's got problems. CZ need to import the S version, get rid of the MS, fix the ejection problems on the 11" and 9" x39 variants, and whoever was responsible for allowing that joke of an endplate to go to market needs a talking to. The Dan Haga designs endcap is not good. I picked up a 1913 adapter not realizing it requires tools to field strip. That was not clear on the website. Now it sits in a drawer, at least until I break a stock endcap.

Craig

TD looks crazy in the intro! Love it when he is in the vids

Cory Risseeuw

Yea for the $1800 mark you could buy an AR that is 100% squared away and sweet. BCM and many others?

Paul Voorhorst

I’m going to stay with my Del-Ton kit built rifle, it hasn’t fallen apart on me.

Rick W

@nancy Thank you for the kind words and I’m glad you are feeling better as well!

Adam Boyd

Thanks for saving us from that pricey junk! Not sure it's in Gunnies interest for you to guarantee nobody picks up their stock though. 🤣

The Nutnfancy Project

Right! When you spend big money you need to get big performance. There's no excusing it.

Robert W Posey

I said this over on YouTube but wanted to say it again here. Loved it when TD called the Bren a FLATSO.

kristooper

TD on the “passive aggressive bitch mail” 🤣🤣🤣

Kinoons

No TD rant on blue loctite?

Phillip Georghiou

I became a patreon just because of this video. Nutn called it that the CZ apologists would come out and based on the comments on youtube, oh yes they did!

Tacticaldoodle

By now I think we all understand.... everyone can recite it by memory! Still, damn, like, tighten your stuff up manufacturers. Payin' $1500 for a rifle and they really can't spring- oh see? I'm doing it again.

Phake A'Count

That's too bad. One can usually count on CZ for good stuff.

Tacticaldoodle

I think this is less a product of CZ as much as it is a by-product of a military contract. It's not super compitetive because it doesn't necessarily have to be for their use. Add in the idea that they may have to build separate parts and assemble them stateside, there are a couple points that can harm the end result. I'd expect them to further refine it, though. There's promise in it overall, if they start honing in on the competition.

Rusty Chains

lol! But wait there is more!

Phake A'Count

Sure, but CZ still put their name on it and put them in stores to sell. My wooden-stock CZ rifles are great. I've got a full length stock (Turkish walnut) 452fs and the 453 American Varmint with set trigger, both in .22lr. Also, a 527 with full length stock with set trigger in .223. My semi-auto rifle is a SW M&P15 which has NOT fallen apart for no reason. It's an early model with the chrome-lined barrel. I'd rather shoot my guns than talk about them, which I would do if I could find some @#$%^&* ammunition.

Scott Reichard

Doodle , I appreciate all your range time and opinions. You run more systems in more dirty environments than I do. This rifle is the cost of THREE good quality ruger or S&W base AR rifles that are reliable and durable and I just dont see the value or desire to own the CZ at all. I can understand paying for a super high quality DD or wilson or rock river or such.. but in those cases you can a rifle you can swap parts.. and still enjoy that its more accurate and has higher spec parts. Having a rifle come apart during testing is a very serious NO GO. I would not pay base ruger ar money for a not reliable one off rifle. How do I replace parts in ten years ? It becomes scrap... no thanks
