Nutn you got me hooked on Microtech LUDT is my daily tactical blade paired with bugout mini!

Brad Fegan

Good review, have to admit, not feeling it either. Maybe because, just before this video posted, just ordered the Spyderco Manix 2 in translucent blue. That will go great with the TNP Dragonfly i carry. Made me smile when broke out a Spyderco . I prefer deep carry.

Joe Grace

Just started watching. Gotta love a new Nutnfancy knife review! The Apostate link does not seem to work for me though :-(

Arthur Krieger

Just returned an Apostate to Blade HQ. I ordered one of those and a Maserin Police, and kept the Police. The Apostate did seem like quite a good knife, I especially liked the speed and the looks. I agree the flipper is too sharp but it did deploy fully, and QUICK, every single time. And I couldn't shake the blade out when folded, so the detent, blade and bearings were perfectly attuned. But there were some F&F issues with the G10 scale, and call me crazy but I don't like the un-reinforced G10 supporting those studs on the blade (there isn't an internal stop pin, right?) Personally I think it felt light in hand and pocket, the Maserin Police I went with is a whopping 6.5 oz and it carries great -- including in my sweat pants pocket when I go running. One of the main reasons for sticking with the Police for me was the deep carry clip though, yes that was a huge miss on the Apostate. Thanks for the great KRV Nutn, always hungry for the knife show.

Microtech has a mil/Leo/FR discount, Mare hooked it ok on the RSK Ultra

The CRKT Remedy looks to be a much better value knife compared to the Apostate. Just not feeling the Apostate with the non-refined flipper and poor clip design. Need to look around for a SOCOM although I will admit the pricing is a bit high for me. Really like the KRVs!!

Connor Murphy

Man, I've had several chances to buy a SOCOM over the years and I regret not doing it every time. Do you still have your Amphibian Auto, Nutn? I haven't seen it in the project in a few years.

Robert Avery

Just a quick thank you for cranking out the KRVs. I personally like to carry the microtech socom auto or LUDT as my current favorite edcs. Deep carry is preferred as well.

Josiah Pierce

Deep carry is a must for me these days. Once you carry deep, you don’t wanna go back.

Mike Maddox

I like carrying tip up, I feel that I can get a faster deploy of the blade that way.

Joe Mack

Funny to hear nutn complaining about O-1 O-2 pay. Os auto promote to O-3 and you'd have to be an E-8 with 18yrs in to be making the equivalent

Adam Boyd

I don't prefer deep carry clips because it slows deployment, as you said. In fact, I often just drop the knives in my pocket without a clip just so I can get a full grip on them. I like a lot of Steel Will designs and was definitely more interested in them when I thought they were an American company that produced so.me knives in China. Once I found out they were owned by America's greatest enemy, I decided I wouldn't be throwing any discretionary cash their way.

Andrettski

You'll love the Manix 2. I have the same one, a great EDC that weighs zippo.

Andrettski

At that price point Steel Will didn't hit a home run with the whole package. Two other competitive options...Kizer titanium V3 flipper(although this flipper needs a little dremel work) or the Cold Steel Code 4, both with S35VN. Another great KRV.

Connor Murphy

Yep, I love my Cutleryshoppe Orange s90v Manix 2 LW, It's my most carried knife.

Brad Fegan

Been carrying the Cold Steel America Lawman or AK-47. Used heck out of the Lawman. When I rewatch the Manix 2 review and Nutn gave it a 11 out 10. I was like hmmm, yah, I'm just going to buy one,

Beck

Deep carry is great, I prefer it.

Kelly McClellan

If I’m already spending that much on a knife I will spend $100 more for a microtech. I love my socom

Tacticaldoodle

Over time I've come to hate weak stop pins, esp. when they don't screw in, but they're sandiched into G10 like that. Seems like a spicy deployment can stretch the scales apart and then you have to put the puzzle back together.

Tacticaldoodle

It's locked away in the lil' carrier for now. I stashed it to protect the finish, the big bin o' knives has a knack for adding some wear when you dig around. Plus It's not a super common blade these days, the socom is such a common competitor it's more understood. When they bring back the 'phib you'll see it crop up.

Connor Murphy

Yeah, my 2002 Amphibian Auto is the centerpiece of my blade collection. I wish they would bring it back.

Kelly McClellan

I just bought a second socom, a black auto for $289 from GPknives.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thanks DAC. Yeah I think the Remedy is amazing for its low cost. I would carry it over the Apostate any day. I'll keep cranking out the KRVs too.

The Nutnfancy Project

You bet Robert. We still love knives here and they will always be core content! Great job scoring the SOCOM. Though expensive though hold or increase their value and the happiness they provide us is killer.

The Nutnfancy Project

I know, pretty spoiled. I only brought home $720 every two weeks as a 2Lt back in the day though!

The Nutnfancy Project

Copy that, I'll give you guys more American options but as noted they're always going to be more $$.

Spenser Weese

Appreciate the review. Honestly enjoyed the 60 seconds of hearing your thoughts on the Spydie Military more than anything else in this KRV. Your Spyderco reviews are what hooked me to TNP many years ago. Keep up the great work, dude!

Tacticaldoodle

I always wonder how the rubber scales would be received. For some reason plenty of dudes dislike them, feeling they're cheap. I think they're great on the phibby. Doesn't ruin your pants while pocketed.

Tacticaldoodle

Joke's on you, all the cool kids are switching to scabbard carry.

duroSIG556R

steel will a-prostate. I said it.
