Kimber gets this one right according to us.  We heavily tested the EVO SP and were highly impressed.  I think you'll like our POU discussion here as I note a new trend in the subcompact carry pistol market.  The Evo SP might be leading the pack on this new development and we congratulate them for it.

Then we get to business showing you the specifics for the EVO and its different flavors.  Several cool variations exist.  The accuracy, reliability with all loads tried, durability, trigger, comfort in shooting, and sighting are all superb on the EVO.  We don't get carried away though and we remind the audience of the all important SAWC consideration.  Other pistols will beat the Evo in this contest.

Oh no....youpoop shenanigans took down the video! Can you please reupload it?

Thanks for the content Nutn, I learned a lot of pistol fundamentals on a Kimber full size 9mm 1911 at a young age would kill for that gun back

Hold Fast Joe

I'm part of the group couldn't hit crap with the low weight carry 9mm guns. If I can't carry the g19 it's a g42 380. Had an lc9s, I could land the first shot then no more. Also tried a shield, oh well. At least my weak 380 will connect, better than missing. It's surprising how well the g19 blends in and hides though. Taken it to my very anti gun in laws so many times and she's never once asked what's that bump on your side lol

IndianaBen

Been curious if the price and weight would just make this a total non recommend, otherwise it seems kinda cool. Also throwing out an idea: some update/revisit vids, maybe just a feature length combining a handful of items. I’ve been wondering all along how that Riley RAK47 has held up for instance. Mine had a surprise rust issue just like that Marlin you mentioned recently, just unusual and out of nowhere. Would love to hear more about some longer term findings and irregularities on gear.

I sold my 43x a couple weeks ago and I’m in the market for a replacement, I might have to look into this one more.

David Gaines

I love little guns! It’s a fetish.

Boone Mill Farm

Left index finger grasping, pulling, applying pressure to the trigger guard? Nope there are three of us.

Brad Fegan

Another good review. But, I have to admit that i did get a Kimber MIcro .380. I will say there was some second cool involved. It does make me happy though. My most favorite daily carry is P365 in tan. Unless want something bigger which now is the CZ P10 S with a plus 2 mag. That really makes me happy.

Schmuckatelli

It took me forEVER, but I finally found the Scooby-Doo version.

Paul Colburn

Looks like a snappy gun. Wonder if they have a 45acp model.

Rick Grad

I can't stop thinking that the Kimber Evo looks like an updated Walther PPK in 9mm. Maybe it's the color of the frame, it's heft, and the compact size. I really dig it...but not enough to buy one for the price point. Great vid.

Bbomz97

NUTN!!! I ride the front of the trigger guard with left index finger too! This piece truly is nice looking, but would be much better with a more squared off and grippy trigger guard. I'd probably get it for a cool one-off carry piece if Kimber improved this. My typical carry is G43X/48 or Sig P365. Still loving your content bro. Keep up the strong work!

TD: The first time I saw the Shield EZ I thought, "Oh. Smith just invented the Colt Pocket Hammerless, but in plastic. How innovative."

Jared Strawn

TD got a lady now??? “other test subjects”

Racing Psychosis

BUT its a Kimber, hard pass. It doesn't even look cool to me. If I want a cool carry piece, something like the Detonics Combat Master would it, that's a cool piece.

Andrettski

Speaking of the front of the trigger guard, I wanna say Kimber wanted the EVO to look sleeker with the marketing in mind instead of functionality. A diagonal line from the short barrel past the trigger guard in line with the bottom of the grip. Also in direct line with the front slide serrations. All about the look. You could see TD's index finger slip down after every shot then having to readjust his grip with every follow up shot. That would not be good for time or accuracy in a defensive situation. It's a no for me, too many better value options.

Andrettski

I actually like the look, not too busy for stuff to get snagged or hung-up on.

duroSIG556R

I'd be into this gun if it had a longer barrel.

Bluegill097

You guys crack me up with that trigger guard fetish! I think it looks great rounded and smooth like, very visually appealing and different from the polymer wonders. It gets bonus points for that from us “normal” shooters lol

David

Straight up cannot wait for the review on that hk

Phake A'Count

Reminds me of a Sig 239. But that one is hammer fired.

Ol Retired Fed

I too need a trigger guard with some front traction. If there is no traction on the front of the guard, I have to add skateboard tape. Sorry, but I need someplace to put my left index finger. That,s just how I roll. So this pistol is a definite no go.

Dave Barker

I have a first gen blued... that's right blued Kahr K-9, and I carried it for years. It was heavy and had a trigger like butter. I shoot it well and love the way it feels in hand. I love it and will never sell it. But when I carry these days it's a Glock 43. It's light I shoot it as well as a G-17 and it disappears in a pair of shorts.

Harold Galen McPheron

Your not alone, I still shoot with my finger on the trigger guard...

Lon N

Nutn sold me on the LC9s/EC9s for the 9mm role. A little smaller than the Kimber Ultra Carry I bought in 97 or 98. I have heard folks knock Kimber over the years but my first gen Ultra Carry 1911 has been a solid gun. I do seethe EVO as an "executive" gun, it would go nicely with a good suit and some nice leather.

Tacticaldoodle

It bugs me how kimber seems to skimp on serrations. Reminds me of the apple system where you can't even get SD cards, instead they demand increasingly ridiculous prices for modest memory increases. It should be standard.

Tacticaldoodle

It's about how it shoots, as handsome as it is that goes out the window if it's slippery as a bar of soap up front.

Eric Jett

Competitive option, although different construction would be a sw shield. Heavier singlestack. Slim. Easy shooting. Just my opinion

Cheesewell

Idk why, but I really like this pistol! I mean probably won't go out and buy one, but nonetheless, very cool piece.

watchman5

Competitive option would be the Sig P239!

Zachary Patterson

Nutnfancy, I shoot with my Finger hooked on the front of the trigger guard. So you are not completely alone in this technique. And I shoot well Like that. Ragged one whole groups at 10 YDS.

Nathaniel Wahl

Kimber fan here with the 5 inch rapid in black, 5 inch stainless LW, 4 inch master carry pro, and 3 inch ultra super carry plus...so, I love it!

Mike

Backwards mag base just like on the PPS. Still a cool Kimber. Also finger on the front trigger guard forever!!!!

TenaciousAmerican

Barbecue Gun? Ok, Texas, North Carolina, St. Louis, Memphis style .....Oh I know Korean. LOL I always thought of BBQ guns as Open Carry, Heavy, Expensive, Plus Nice Leather...Derogatory? Ostentatious, discriminate, Impressive. Showy....Think a Vegas Chorus Line... While having a great time with Friends and great food. It would be buy for me, will add to the list though.

Joshua Mount

Usually all my carry guns i carry for second cool purposes. i just care if they are reliable. Even know no one ever really sees it. I enjoy the fact that i have some kind of obscure gun nobody carries. PPK, 1908 colt pocket hammerless, Colt magnum carry, S&W model 60, H&K P7, ect. All kinds of guns nobody carries. I just think its fun and makes me feel nostalgic just like if im wearing a vintage watch. When im feeling lazy yeah ill carry a G43, Shield, P938, LCP2, J-frame. Really lazy ill stick a NAA 22mag or Bond Derringer in my pocket but carrying old school guns is fun man it just makes me feel cool even though im a dork and not that cool.

Jeffrey Blaney

I thought Nutn said he was going to leave all the full videos on here for us and only do that part 1/2 thing on YouTube?

Big50

Says paid for by patrions but I can’t see the vid. ☹️
