Trying to modify the sled, the blade slips and goes deep. The knife is a Kershaw Emerson CQC-10K Frame Lock this time (a great blade btw; https://youtu.be/fGo-f9_4wDo).

Here you see the First Aid procedures I do in action, breaking out my Level 3 FAK for the wound. Sean the TNPr helps. A blizzard starts. Dogness interrupts barking at a dude. With the blood soaked bandage getting in the way of the glove finger, I quickly snip some of the gloves off...a write off. We get everything wrapped up and we soldier on. Another cool war scar.

Sorry for the lack of good framing of the subject matter during the video, I was kinda' bleeding and I had to talk Sean through the First Aid.

Nutnfancy Cuts Himself Again

Dauum Time for a Skinny Medic collaboration lol

Jammerjim

First Aid is Paramount in everything we do.

Todd Strelka

Not sure why it was reuploaded, but I'll watch it again to help the views. Those side windows in the shell are handy. Quite an adventure. Glad you're always prepared.

Schmuckatelli

Ol' Blood and Guts Nutnfancy really cuts to the chase in this video. But you get a good look at a Level 3 FAK no matter how you slice it. The viewers are certainly spared no gory details as they learn a sharp lesson courtesy of Nutnfancy's blade. Good job taping your thumb back on.

Bryan Green

Damn Nutn. I’m not sure if this one is as gnarly as the Spyderco Tenacious cut or not. Lol

Greg Malcom

Glad it was more serious. Saying that, I hate cutting my fingers... such an irritant for days.

Moe Mansour

Nutn' we appreciate that you field test the knives for us. But you don't have to go that far. The Stabbing Protocol was probably good enough.

CDK

Ouch! I slipped cutting cardboard and stuck a Spyderco Dragonfly into my thigh..luckily it wasn't fresh sharpened or it could have been way worse.

Boone Mill Farm

Jeees, I hope your ok. Really good vid to show good med, care and thank God for friends. Sean - good job. It happens quick, you have to treat it quick. Glad you had the stuff, not just the watch for today.

Pat McGroin

Spoiler alert. Nutn lived AND made $500. Adding tampons (and pain meds) to my kit. Thx.

Jonathan-James

Ouch! But you have been blessed nine spares.

TechNeck

Need the right tool for the job .. cutting hard plastic, side cutters/diagonal cutters. Or use the saw blade on your muilti tool. Never use a smooth blade unless you absolutely have to. Fairly minor cut considering the force you were probably using. Live and learn lol.

TechNeck

Haha I posted right before I got to the point were you say should have used my muilti tool, right tool for the job. Lol... Actually this video reminds me I need to restock my TCCC trama kit, I used about a bunch of it saving the dude that put his car down the embankment into the trees doing 130km/h in heavy rain. Used one of my CATs and my big 6" israel bandadages Guys leg was a mess and he had broken arm and a moderate head wound.

Carl Bailey

Who says a Kershaw can't cut?

David Goodridge

Your lucky if your not written up for improper use of PPE and failure to follow checklist. LoL

Ruben Lopez

Glad you pulled through!

Derek W Tiller

maxi pads and panty liners are great things to keep in the first aid kit. the other thing i don't leave home without is loctite ultra gel control super glue. fixed many a bad leak in the middle of nowhere with it.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thanks for being here and the comment BMF! Sean is a great dude to have around.

The Nutnfancy Project

Great job having your FAK to help that dude. TNPrs around the country are the unsung medics for sure. It is always great to revisit your kit every few years and restock, update.

The Nutnfancy Project

Yep got that too in there. The problem I have with super glue it dries up, even in unused containers, in the 105ºF temps seen on the bikes and X4

Dalton

Thx for sharing Nutn , take care of that cut.

Brad Fegan

Been there.....Lost count how many times I almost cut my fingers off or stabbed my hand. Love the .....watch for day is.......BTW i am wearing a Deep Blue 1000 with the mat gray face black band and........love it.

Powernoodle

Powernoodle Thoughts: 1) well done obviously on having 2x FAKs; 2) latex gloves for your helper next time; 3) yeah, we noticed there was already one band-aid on the other hand; and 4) Nutn goes full throttle through life, whether using a knife or frying eggs at high heat.

Racing Psychosis

A good reminder of why I carry a side-cutter in the truck.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Sounds like you need to start wearing cut resistant gloves. Mechanix has some.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

As a safety guy I take this personally. ...jk 😆

Casey Jones

Sucks man. And this is why we keep a lvl 2 med kit in the truck?

Paul Tooley

I just had a thought to maybe throw a couple red biohazard disposal bags into the med kits for proper disposal of used bandages.

Publius Cato

Seems like only time I've ever cut myself - was when I was cutting towards myself...something my dad told me to never to do, from the first time I was ever allowed to use a cutting tool. "Hmmm, I'm kinda cutting towards myself - Meh, I've got this!..... Whoops!"

The Nutnfancy Project

That is correct! That was a burn on the other hand, that one will leave a worse scar I think, Thanks PN

The Nutnfancy Project

" Deep Blue 1000 with the mat gray face black band" So awesome, I love that color

Joshua Dippel

Ahhh Nutn, you fool! Sweet knife!

Plumber Angelo

The blood oath has been paid....in full!

Harold Galen McPheron

Good job on showing people the right way to treat a stab wound, sorry you had to do it the hard way...

david rockwell

Reassuring the wound was minor in severity. All constitutional citizens are required for duty during Xiden's "dark winter". Guns are glamourous but medical training and supplies are indispensable. The Burton parka is wearing well during medium snowstorm. Thank you for the continued effort dedication.

Michael Burtchell

I just bought that knife! Guess it can be sharp?

TechNeck

Yeah big problem is that TCCC kit is like $1500. CAT is $40-50 alone now. Israeli bandages are about $30. I think I used $200 on buddy and had to dryclean my $400 sleeping bag he bled all over (I put a couple cheap wool blankets in the truck after that). The only reason I was there to help was because I was changing a tire for a family, and I just pulled out behind the guy as he zipped past. If I hadn't seen the lights spin out I don't think anyone would have found him till a missing persons report was filed.

Shawn Kuse

Anyone who owns knives will get bit sooner than later. It is a badge of honor. Whether we use or misuse a knife or not....we use our tools!!

Matt

Only time I can recall cutting myself like that I was using a *edit-swiss army knife* as a screwdriver and it closed on my finger. The only thing that stopped the blade was the bone. Still have the scar 15 years later.

Alex Copeland

Given that the situation wasn't that serious, there was no reason for the other guy to get blood on his bare hands. There was time to put on gloves. Also, I bought that exact knife from your kershaw/emerson review. I love it and it's my EDC. Another great recommendation from nutn, thank you and keep up the great work.
