Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Dang, traveling for work. Gonna have to watch tomorrow.

JARMYSTRONG

Saved for viewing tomorrow. I need a distraction like this from all that is crowding my mind.

Raymond Kuhn

Perfect length for my morning commute. I'll be listening through my car speakers.

bugout

thanks! just put the little one down by my side for the night... gifted w this! headphones in!!

Robert Shuman

Millennial here. Younger Millennial. Not proud of my generation, but whenever I start to feel really disgusted I remember that my generation was the perfection of the kind of historical revisionism indoctrination that they started on gen Xers. I am hopeful that the zoomers are sick of this woke crap and reject it by the time they start getting taxed to oblivion. Thank you Nutnfancy for all you do. Came for the gun videos. Stayed for the philosophy videos, and videos like these.

Leon Hudson

Thank God for all the challenges (good and bad), opportunities, and blessings. Everything together has gotten us to where we are today.

Tex

Broooo more outdoors stuff. And yeah totally a millennial, and one of the kick ass hard work ones. Lol

Adam Boyd

Nice! Keep em coming!

Lon N

Philosophy videos... good stuff, thanks Nutn and Sean.

William R. Stevens III

Was wondering if you could do a 101 on setting up and doing go pro stuff/ editing and your system you use. I’m wanting to to do it for saving family history and adventures. It’s so frustrating trying to figure it out. I’m not a big tech guy. Love all you do!!

CincinnatiDan (Ohio)

Sorry to say but you guys are wrong... i’m watching this video but not elite (sorry). And i wish i was backpacking and camping but haven’t since i was a scout at 16. I watch these vids and lament “i forgot how to do this”.

James Mabe

Millennium airmen here the guy that sent you the tanker directorate patch. Deployed eight or more times lost count I have served very honorably I even believe one of our deployments we were deployed together and I may have worked jets that you flew. The deployment I was there with Uath, Iowa was also there I remember because thete maintainers at the time were less than desired.

Brian Matlock

Thanks Nutn (& Sean). I love this casual style and all your philosophy vids more than any other category. Maybe it's the common background. Do more PVs. MSgt7803.

hoplite ⚔️

Thanks for the chat guys. Loved the part about family. Inspirational.

The Nutnfancy Project

I still use iMovie 10. I'm stuck in that system because I have hard drives and events dating back to 2008 that can only be (easily) accessed by that software. If you have a Mac, I highly rec it and it comes with your OS.

The Nutnfancy Project

I love your cool patch you sent James! I show it in the background or on the table top in the rotation. Wish I knew you back then, sorry I missed ya! Thanks for your service. I can imagine how difficult (woke) the military is now.

James Mabe

It's a camaraderie we didn't know we had until watching old videos when my son that is now five going on six was born. I will not discredit the military nor my service that I am in. I will say however I could have not done 17+ years in the current environment and expectations of our service. What we demand out of troops today and what is expected is so beyond ridiculous for the pay and credit they receive. I do not understand the individual that does it. I do believe myself a decent person and I do believe myself at a minimum and acceptable supervisor. I did not retain one airman (gac was our specialty) ever as an NCO this pained me greatly I talked to many of them still and they are very happy outside the service and successful. On the final note here if you are reading this I might one day soon be working in tandem with Uath national guard on a project in which they are the lead for currently I will hit you up if I head to salt lake City if that's ok.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thank you Brian. I will do more for sure. I try not to repeat the same stuff though, so sometimes that's hard not to do: hard work, respect, responsibility, kindness, warrior spirit, goal setting, etc

Moe Mansour

C'mon Nutn', we know if you could go back you'd buy all the knives you missed out on. *coughs* Microtech!

Connor Murphy

Love the backpacking and outdoor content, thanks, Nutn!

The Dude

Cam you post that video of the side by side being stuck in snow?

David Goodridge

Great video. I’m listening to this can’t sleep much tonight. It’s been almost a week since my wife of 43 years suffered a stroke. I’m missing her so much. Shes been the hospital for almost a week. Today they said they want to transfer her to a nursing home. This is a part of life I didn’t see coming. Going to be lonely for a while. Thanks for the video

Max lewis

Watched it start to finish. Always a good time!

Todd Strelka

Great video. Nothing like a good campfire talk. We want more of these.

Sean

Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she is able to recover enough for a few more adventures with you. It’s great to hear that you have been able to share a long marriage and maintain your relationship. My grandparents were in a similar situation a few years back. It was hard, but their love and connection was inspirational for me. I’ll pray for you and your family, and hope that heavens light will shine on you in your time of need.

Charles Steimle

Two resources I wish I had in my early 20s. Nutn and Mike Rowe. My life would be totally different.

Kenny VanCleave

My wife and I have been married for 41 years. that was the first and best decision I have ever made. We have two beautiful daughters and four wonderful grandkids. Everything else is just side noise. Don't get me wrong, running a construction company and owning a house is important to me, but it all stems from my relationship with my wife.

Lynn E Fite, Col (r)

Great video. Shawn is a great adventure mate. I remember my wife and I living on post, at Ft Bragg, as a 2Lt making $750 a month., life was so busy, all the wife’s learned to polish our boots and lay out the next days uniforms; up at 4am home at 1800-1900.. Your wife should be your best friend and yes wife’s know there husbands, better than we do. Awesome video

Andrew Baldwin

One of my main goals in life is to be an exception to the stereotype of my generation, i.e. a millennial who doesn't suck. So I pitched my video games in college to buy a Marlin XT-22, got a tough job and an incredible wife and spend my time watching TNP philosophy vids. Seems like it's working so far. Love the video!

whiskey papa

Wish I was sittin' there with ya. Have a great time guys!

Andrettski

Keep the faith brother, we'll all pray for your wife and family.

Zack Harris

Campfires always make for great conversations, thanks for keeping up the good work! Dbl owl

David and Elizabeth

Loved the discussions. Bless you guys! 👨‍👩‍👧❤

Jayson Fraser

Great discussion. I can definitely understand the allure of focusing on a career first, but to me, family is the most important. Family is the foundation that will support you in your career, not the other way around. I chose to marry relatively early (at least by my generation's standards). I met an awesome girl and we were married at 22. Now we've been married almost 4 years and have a daughter that's almost a year old. I'm still figuring out what I'll do as a career, but I'm so glad that I put my priorities where I did. We'll struggle to get through sometimes, but that'll just make our relationship stronger. I can't imagine going through these challenges alone. Having the support of my wife has made figuring out the rest of my future so much easier and more enjoyable.

godfatherUSA

We can't all hang out with Nutn around the campfire discussing life, but watching from my living room is the next best thing. Thanks buddy.

Jardine

Good stuff guys. Campfires bring out the best conversations.

cvoigtjr

I must be elite because I thought this was a great video! :)

david rockwell

During the many engrossing backpacking/mountain video adventures documented, evening campfire is always a highlight. Fire is a communal connection we all can embrace. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

DACampbell

Nice video. I think a lot of women would get a lot out of watching this one.

Racing Psychosis

Going through that right now....I'm charged with finding young engineers for the company I work for and mentoring them. It's super hard to find them, super hard to find good ones. That advice on your spouse is good, if I had it to do it over, that was the huge mistake I made 20+ years ago, a simply horrible marriage that I let go on way too long.

HappyFrancisMacomber

Copious amounts of good advice in this fireside chat. Shame on the guys who don’t set the expectations with their spouse that alone time with guy friends is important hunting, fishing, camping, golfing whatever... I’ve lost a many friends to this because they let it happen AND they don’t bring their kids to do those activities. A good spouse will recognize that doing those things makes all men (and kids) better and more present at home when they are home.

HappyFrancisMacomber

Jayson - you are blessed my man and don’t ever forget it. The career and $$$ will come in time - but only the result of grinding and gaining experiences that increase your value year over year. Read up on Seneca and Epicurus - “Whoever does not regard what he has as most ample wealth,” .... “is unhappy, though he may be master of the whole world.” Hint: you’re master of the world for your family.

Anotsu01

I remember my father telling me that the company he worked for stopped looking for young apprentices. They shifted to people a few years older, guy who had young family, who had maybe jumped around a little and were looking for something stable and to build on. They had started far too many younger apprentices who would just be unreliable or get bored and leave, etc. Or once qualified be off straight away. The other way gave them more stability and a bit of mutual dependence.

jonesy

Thank you for posting.

Racing Psychosis

The problem I have is that we are so specialized and not everyone has the aptitude to do the math and science required to get through the specialized engineering courses that we use in treating water and wastewater. All that said the ones I do find are hungry to learn and do the job, there just does not seem to be enough of them.

Josh P.

My favorite type of videos you make Nutn keep it up!

Chris carr

Oh yea! Another fun one, but man I need another adventure lol.

Chris carr

We also have the same problem finally found a 30 year old and we call him man baby. He whines about everything, it’s like working with a 13 year old boy.

Mitch Schutter

Around the 17 minute mark, talking about friends who let their wives run the show. I remember a guy I use to be closer with. We were getting ready to take a carbine course together, and I was stopping at his house. I overheard his wife angrily ask him "DID YOU MAKE HIM COFFEE!?" and then a minute or so later I heard him say, "Thanks for letting me do this honey!" I thought to myself, "Thanks for letting you spend $200 and have 8 hours to yourself?" Needless to say every time we went shooting I got, "Sure! Just gotta ask the boss," in return. This is a man who is 15 years my senior, and I took mental notes about his wife. Now that I'm married, my wife doesn't care what I do as long as I let her know when I'll be home and that we have enough money to pay the bills and save.

Jon Doe

Yeah its disgusting, i have family members like that. Even though i get resentful towards women, its not 100% their fault, look at the mass scale of it... This is a result of social construct. Its weak and inexcusable nonetheless, for both sides.

Mitch Schutter

Oh, I place a lot of blame on him. He needs to be a man.

Jon Doe

Agreed. But another side of it is that women are more emotional than men, we operate differently, obviously, as you know. And because of that men are more emotionally manipulated at a subtler degree rather than vice versa, so it gets into this weird sphere of men not even really knowing what's happening, its like a dog being rewarded for good behavior. And a lot of times in regards to battles you pick and choose, it may be "eh, it's just not worth it for this one" and so begins the degradation of the man until they're nice and trained. I've learned a lot from personal experience. It's easy looking in from the outside, having never experienced it at a deep level, now i have the experience along with getting out. Its like that scene in the hobbit when bilbo climbs the trees in the enchanted forest and gets that huge gasp of fresh air and the spell is broken. But youre still not out of the woods yet, like i mentioned in the first comment its easy to get resentful and that's not a win in the long run. Blessed are the men and women who have a good, based partner.

Jon Doe

Said a prayer for ya. May His will be done. Take care.

Jon Doe

"...more enjoyable" very important part. And good advice from Happy; $$$ comes as a result of...

Sheepdog

TRR8 and "Second Cool" go together without a doubt! Man that is a cool gun!

Daniel Herb

I love a good fire and campsite conversations! You can solve some problems in that forum.

Josh Hebel
