A value shotgun review for your consideration. We weren't too sure about this Citadel but things got better. And the price is crazy low for the quality. Another shotgun (in this price range) review is coming soon and it was garbage. This one is preferred. Remember to keep an eye on the added costs of mods to guns like this; they'll add up. I will warn about embarking on a fools errand and show you a beloved competitive option!

More shotgun reviews have been requested by TNPP and here it is!

My guess more issues will arise if you buy it, but hey fun project and got me excited about the outcome.

Brad Fegan

Thanks for bringing this one to our attention. Inquiring, have heard of or, handled any Black Aces semi auto shotguns?

Murphy

Looking forward to the update after modifications. How about reviewing some of the Black Aces semi-autos. Thanks Nutn.

Another real truthful gun review. Thank you Nutn for all that you do and for the content you provided all these years. As much as i would like an auto, I'm happy with my maverick 88 and moss 500a ( factory gold trigger, long barrel, muzzle comp configuration). I did discover with the 88 it shoots high with the single bead sight even at 20 yards with buck. At 100 with slugs i have to aim 1-2 ft low to be on target.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

I always enjoy shotgun reviews even though I'm not man enough to shoot one. Knowledge is knowledge, right?

In my book the Moss 500/590's are the best, most tactically reliable scatterguns on the planet. I miss my 500, the 20" barrel, side saddle, extra rounds and heat shield made it unwieldy for this beat up old #Patriot (especially since I'm writing this propped up on a bunch of pillows with a fractured spine and 9 ribs from a dry land pile-driver... I never saw the Rem 870 as a serious contender, more of a brand loyalty thing. The Mossberg, with it's double action bars, top thumb safety position and one screw ejector replacement (vs the 870s silver brazed ejector) always made it a clear-cut no-brainer, that clearly put it heads and shoulders above the Remington. Thanks for the review Nut'n!... SI Vis Pacem, Para Bellum, JudgeGarry

Thanks for the shotgun content! Totally timely. Cheap guns are so tempting when ammo is so expensive. If you have to run 200 rounds and make other upgrades, it only makes sense if you enjoy the process. I’m a sucker for projects and look forward to a follow up video.

Good info on the Maverick, that sucks it's that far off. Most bead shotguns will be pretty close I have found. and thanks for the nice words.

Hello JG! Fun comment and thanks. I have our 500s and a 590 and the ain't going anywhere. They have been fabulous when shot. I do actually prefer the 500 as it is lighter in weight. You might remember putting that one through the Venom conversion kit with detachable drum magazine. It

Thanks and I will give you an update. I did buy this and already I have fitted on the Fusion Tactical rear sight with 8 shot Carlson's Shotgun Magazine extension. I will shoot it some more before I do an update.

Ben H.

Yep slightly unfortunate unless I'm looking down the barrel incorrectly, but thats my experience. It functions great other than that :). Thanks for the response!

Harold Galen McPheron

I'm an old bird hunter, and I prefer a regular shotgun stock on my Benelli Nova rather than the pistol grip stock...

I love the shotgun content and would love to see more. I agree about Turkish shotguns. It is incredible how hated Turkish shotguns are here and in the UK for little reason. The reasoning is like "if double gun that cant kill 1,000 birds a day in Argentina, shit gun. If defensive gun that cant take magpul furniture, shit gun." Uhhh, why?

Matthew Jantz

Enjoying the shotgun content! I’ve found for certain POU’s like turkey hunting I do like the pistol grip.

The suggested project upgrade for Warthog would be appreciated. When one examines the Stoeger 31891FS, the out of box function for $600 is quite appealing. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

David Elkins

I with you on preferring a gun that’s good to go out of box. I’m too lazy to do a project or build. But if you do make this a project…do a how to video. 😁

I have only been shooting shotguns a lot in the last 5 years. Learned to love sporting clays. I need to use a golf cart with my messed up knee but love shooting 44 to 47 out of 50 scores. Started with a beretta A400 unico with kickoff. In optifade. And shot the hell out of it. Then bought 725 browning sporting over unders with 30 inch tubes. Talking thousands of shells. And bought a spare 725 as a backup shotgun. When your shooting 500 plus rounds a week you get to know about the feel of a shotgun. I also learned why you spend at least a couple thousand dollars on a gun. They need to hold up to a lot of use. A casual shooter or hunter can use a shotgun from turkey or cheaper brand.. no big deal.. but if your going to put thousands and thousands of rounds I just advise buying something well made. For a new shooter or a bit of hunting it really makes no difference. At least in durability. Fit in a shotgun is everything.. a perazzi or dt11... spend 2 grand or 15 grand. Its all about fit.. i got lucky and my browning 725's only cost 2500 to 4000 dollars. I tried shotguns many times more expensive and they just did not fit well. So you guys playing tactical cool shotgun stuff. Enjoy what you want and have fun. But I have shot tens of thousands of shells so far.. and a shotgun is a far different animal than any other rifle. Dont know about the shotguns with rear sights. They seem to be a completely different deal as well.

Thank you for 'living on the edge.' That was some awesome content like I've never seen before. I was so excited I think I wet myself a little. Of course, most of us haven't seen even a single round of ammunition in a year, or maybe two! Appreciate the hard work and a good review! You have a habit of picking out the next winners in the marketplace so it's great to be in the information loop.

Great vid! The Stoeger Freedom series is the best kept secret in shotguns!

I will update my posts made on the youtube nutnfancy video. One of my gun clubs bought 6 to 8 of the turkish made charles daly semi auto shotguns. After a few years of only hunter safety use all the shitguns had broken locking blocks. No parts available. The shells were 1.0 oz 7.5 lead and hunter safety runs about 4 to 5 boxes of shells per student. The guns were from about 2010 purchased thru gander mountain or dicks sporting goods. I found the locking blocks broken about 4 years ago while doing a club service day cleaning the shotguns. The next year the ones that had been ok were now broken. So low shell count and very low power rounds were used. We have huge trap facilities and that is where the guns were fired for hunter safety courses. Dont know what the club did with the shotguns from tutkey. But I do not advise buying them. There are different companies so you might find a shotgun made of decent parts. The charles daly name has been used by different gun sellers. And guns produced by several . Akkai. And kai etc.

Enjoyed the SRV Nutn. I would strongly recommend to anyone if they don't own a 12 gauge to get 1 or 5. Good POU's and just a blast to shoot.

Wii-R-Physical

I plan on getting a shotgun now. I never had a need before. But now I'm starting to understand there usefulness a little better.

RowdyRon

Way cool video. Love the shotgun stuff. I'd love to have an M4, but I think the Beretta 1301 is smarter money. If you mod it, I bet it will be worth it! Thanks Nutn.

Jeremy doblinger

I seen one of these in my local fleet farm for a decent price.. and I can see where it would be tempting but the winchester defender next to it out shined it so bad it wasn't funny.

Im Brooks

Cabelas is selling a butt load of these in their "used gun" section and people are wandering about their quality. Follow up vid is highly requested

Live round for a demo?! 😮 It's like, it's like, y-y-yo-you've done that before! You had me rolling man! Not the same comment thread or whatever but also wanted to say, your video about your brother, very moving. I hope all is well. Double 👍👍 with the content.

You learnt me something today, had no idea about the European shotgun loading protocol. And for that. I thank you!
