Summer of 2021 GRV. S&W Shield is back with more rounds and a few more improvements. I take it out into the 111ºF desert to see how it does! As we've talked about the competition in this true sub compact 9 segment is fierce and we'll see if the previous king of mountain becomes king again.

Nice! I've been hoping for this review to be completed. If I were to upgrade my original Shield that I got in April 2012, this would be the one. Especially since the world was turned upside down, I've been carrying at least 99% of the time. Been working from home since early 2020. Thanks for your hard work and testing. Glad to be a donor.

WILLIAM MEYER

Looks to be a good choice but am holding out for a Sig 365. Tough to get around here in the Missouri Ozarks but I'm persistent and motivated. Average carry...whenever I walk out the door I have my S&W J frame 38. So 99.9% probably.

Devin Heald

Agreed, not selling my single stack but will definitely be picking up a plus for the extra round count. Carrying percentage as of now is 100% of the time, at the lowest will be 99%. I can say that because I am required to carry at work for security.

Pedro

S&W definitely impressed me lineup wise. For the price you get a lot of gun. for those on a budget where glock and walther is out, S&W swoops and provides quality to the user. Also their new EZ9 is definitely not a gimmick on slide ease of use.

Greg Malcom

I bought the Shield years ago and the Shield Plus a couple months ago. I also own the P365. It's not even close... The Shield Plus is much better (at least for large or extra large hands). The big downside is extra mags have never been available.

Greg Malcom

I carry 95% of the time. Unless I am going to a state/federal building or flying, I carry.

Mike S

Have all of the Shield Plus mags been sold out?

Robert W Posey

Bought a 365 about the time of the tnp review. Daily carry every since. I carry 100% out of my home and most of the time at home when I'm outdoors. Pins are rusting now from the sweat. Lol

David Cockerel

98% of the time I carry either a Glock 22, Glock 27, Kahr K40 or Ruger LC9S Pro. The other 2% of the time I’m at a range shooting something else.

Cody Harring

Yeah, sucks not being able to find extra mags. I typically check around at least once a week.

Clcare556

I have the original shield and while I love it I had some magazine problems with it. I know they had issues with the springs and that’s why I switched to a newer p365.

Hold Fast Joe

That knife with the classic shark face was very cool! Tinkers look neat I'm very low carry. Keep a glock in my car but last 6 months when I travel I'm in locations where they post guards with metal detectors. I can't even bring a tinker in there! I had a piece of metal stuck to my shoes and I had to take them off to be x-rayed. Cool pistol review, miss not seeing paper but sounds like it wouldn't have been fun to see the results anyway so understand. Glad it was at least ringing steel for you!

Edward mcclure

99%. The other 1% it’s 50 ft away.

Johnny

Merch! Bring it on.

Adam Boyd

100% of the time as long as doing so doesn't have the potential to make me a felon, like when I go to New Jersey, which I avoid at all costs. What do you think about the Taurus GX4?

Cody Harring

Honestly for carry I would say 90% outside of home, not including at work as they suck and want allow it and I move to much for it to be concealed. I slack when wearing basketball shorts. I still say to this day walking out the door what if I ran into Nutnfancy or John Lovell, do I have all my EDC. Just wish we could get extra magazines and why they did not put a rail on it idk.

Schmuckatelli

I've been looking at picking up a Shield Plus. Like a lot of others, I own the Shield 2.0 and I’m a big fan, but the extra capacity of the Plus is attractive. If I do get a Plus, I will definitely hold on to my Shield 2.0 and use it for other purposes. Regarding my carry percentage, I'd estimate that I carry 99% of the time. I carry at work, at the gym (fanny pack), at the doctor's office, and when I travel (including flying). The nice thing is that my wife carries just as much as I do, and she'll ask me when we leave the house if I have my gun on me. We went to a concert in a neighboring state once, where they had metal detectors at the entrance, and in that case, the guns stayed in the car, but I was not comfortable in a large crowd with booze being served, without the ability to protect my wife and myself. So no more concerts in that very left-leaning, Democrat-ran state. I am regularly trying to find ways to improve my EDC system, but I will say this…I have yet to find a better system than the shoulder holster. The new Galco Classic Lite 2.0 has two mag holders on the off-side instead of just one. I am a big guy at 6’3” and over 200 lbs, so a sub-compact pistol like my Shield 2.0 disappears under my arm. When it’s cooler outside I can wear a sports coat to work and carry my Glock 48 with two extra 15-round Shield Arms mags in a shoulder rig.

Greg Malcom

Michael... They have never released extra magazines into the market. They are all being used for new gun sales.

Lon N

90+% carry = when I have pants on, minus forbidden areas, schools, medical facilities etc. The Shield is nice...but the Kusiak is gonna cost me some money, gee thanks Nutn. I love that Kusiak offers the option for tuckable Ulticlips instead of the belt clip. I run Ulticlips on my IWB hybrid style holsters. They clip on the pant waistband, not the belt.

Eric Kelley

Ok. Prepare to pounce. I carry roughly 30% when away from the house. Home on a lake. On/around boat and dock a lot of the time. Not comfortable carrying on the water.

Corey Mann

50+% carry because I can not carry at work but if I'm leaving the house not to go to work or leaving the state I'm carrying 99+% of the time my wife as gotten used to it but she used to teas me about it at first. I carry a XDS 45 3.3inch and 1 spare mag appendix carry.

Matt Melott

I’ve carried the shield more than any other gun for the past couple of years. Recently picked up the shield plus, but am going to put some more rounds through it before I start carrying it. I carry about 90% of the time outside of work, because I’m not allowed to carry at work.

Tacticaldoodle

For cases where I had a workplace "weapon free" I weighed the penalty of being discovered (i.e. legal trouble or just termination? Are you high demand? How deep is your concealment? What lean do coworkers have?) with the probability of having issues. For the normal places with relatively nice security, I may go clean. For $200/month rented "duty quarters" right next to the drug sales corner, i'd often have baggy pants and ankle carry.

Garrett Dismukes

97% for the past two years since I picked up the ruger lcp2. Before then I carried a Kel tec pf9 and single stack shield and probably carried 50% of the time. I work at a desk, at a bank as a appraiser. Causal dress, but tucked in button up shirts always. Lcp has really helped me out during the work week. However, when I’m not at work I carry the shield always.

David and Elizabeth

We carry 99% of the time. No joke. The only exception is when there's a metal detector to deal with. Elizabeth carries her original Shield bought and paid for many years ago. 👍

James Hood

95% carry. I was waiting for this review… It was as I expected. I do on an original shield, and have no plans to get rid of it. I do prefer my hellcat, but for those that are used to the shield platform that want a little bit more fire power, this is a very good option as the hellcat took a bit getting used to after carrying and shooting the shield for so many years.

Schmuckatelli

I have not experienced any mag issues with my single-stack Shield 2.0. I purchased several of the S&W extended 8-round mags from GunMagWarehouse (currently out of stock). But then again...I also have the P365 and love it too.

Lon N

I've been self-employed since 2006. I do computer repair in a small rural community which sometimes takes me into facilities where legal trouble would be certain beyond the loss of a customer. The majority of my commercial customers carry themselves even though we are 20+ miles from "the cities" and have a low level of obvious danger.

Schmuckatelli

I ran into this issue when trying to find the Shield Arms 15-rnd mags for the Glock 48. I just got on their email list and set up alerts so I would get notified when they got more in stock. I now have 10 of them. Most online retailers (I use GunMagWarehouse.com) will have the option to set up alerts when certain items come back into stock.

Clcare556

I bought the original shield when they were on rebate for $250 and the early mags had metallurgy issues with the springs. I just need to order new springs but it’s kind of disappointing. Love the shield but I’ve upgraded!

jay m

I carry 100% of the time. I live in Portland Or. With a blue lives matter flag in my yard, so I'm always prepared. I work from home and still always have a gun on my person at all time.. Also I have 2 German shepherds that hang out with me most of the day

Tacticaldoodle

1st time I've heard that. Even with the rocky intro, everyone who touches a 365 comes away enthralled!

Schmuckatelli

There are literally dozens of P365s for sale on gunbroker.com. If you shop around, you'll find someone selling with no CC fees and free shipping. The only reason I could see you not wanting to purchase online is if you're trying to find someone to sell you theirs in a private sale to avoid the paper trail. In which case, I say: good on you for maintaining your privacy. But you're going to have a tough time finding someone willing to part with their P365.

Anthony Schaad

I use to own a shield 2.0 fde, ( super regret selling it 😭) . I rock a 43x alot in the summer n with the 15rd mags it’s a hard package to beat ( which Glock should have produced to begin with!) . Awesome review Nutn as usual… I’ve been eyeing these for a bit, just I got a system ( 43x hot days/ but my Shadow systems w holo reddot ( Glock 19) is my main squeeze for most part ) and it’s hard to change it up lol. But darnnit Nutn ya got me thinking now lol!

Schmuckatelli

So when you tell the ATF that you lost all your guns in a boating accident you'll have more credibility.

Anthony Schaad

H and I’m carrying 110%…. The extra 10% is for the places I’m really not permitted too carry lol. But I believe it’s every American citizens right and frankly those of us who are to quote you “ civilian sheepdogs” responsibility to protect our families, friends etc … . And frankly I do because EVIL exists, and I might just be able to stop it if possible! God Nutnfancy n Tnprs!

Greg Malcom

TD... I agree most like the P365... However, I bought mine from a friend who didn't like it - and I eventually found that the grip is like holding on to a matchbox in my XL hands.

Buck Padooka Intel

I carry 60% of the time due to having a federal job where carrying a firearm is forbidden. When I stop working for the government, my carry percentage will increase into the 90% range.

Jeremy doblinger

My carry percentage is 99.9 %. I'm to a point where I just put it on everytime..way to much crazy people running around.. I've increased my edc with extra mags and now have been running with a rifle in vechile and extra medical since riots..

Jeremy doblinger

I push my friends to be high percentage carriers also.

Brad Fegan

Sweet merch coming out. I carry I will say over 90%. I traveled by plane through multiple airports recently. Didn't what any hang-ups.

Schmuckatelli

Would love to see a TNP video on vehicle guns complete with POU, recommended guns, possible storage options, etc. I know Nutn has posted a picture or two of his truck gun on Twitter before, but I'd like to get a full-blown GRV on this topic.

Schmuckatelli

I'm right there with you on the 110% and the reasons you carry.

Schmuckatelli

I'm not trying to open up a can of worms, but whatever happened to Black Army Dude?

CallsignWulf

110%, I like that. Same carry situation here. 80% G19(As in I built it), and G34 sometimes. Definitely not outgunned with that setup.

Scott Dunn

I carry 99.9% if you count keeping a 380 in my work backpack (against the rules-do not care). I do not even mow the lawn or get coffee in the morning without a LCP2 in my pocket. Usually carry the Shield 1 so definitely interested in the plus, especially since I can use the same holsters. Been waiting for the price to stabilize and mags to be available. I will keep the old Shield for sure when I upgrade. Keep in up Nutn!

Gilberto Esquivel

I have a Shield 1.0 that I carry now like....never. I chose to carry a S&W 642 with .38 Spl +P and stripper clips...It's light and disappears the entire day...that's why I carry it....Shield is a chunky boy for me now....and I don't feel unarmed with either pistol whatsoever...But I'm carrying 30% of the time (weekends basically..) because...California...Schools are Free-Fire Zones here and I'm not about to lose my job...or violate my Permit.

Clint Raby

Just bought the shield plus two months ago. This is my first subcompact and it does make carrying much more convenient. I've always carried double single action, HK P30 is what I have been carrying since before the plandemic, so it's taking some getting used to. Just means I have to go-to the range more. I don't carry at work but other than that I carry 100%

Schmuckatelli

"80% G19(As in I built it)" That's the best kind. Good for you!

Schmuckatelli

"(against the rules-do not care)" gave me a warm and fuzzy

Schmuckatelli

Okay...this is one of those things about the left that really pisses me off. They demonize legal gun owners to the point where people are put into a position where they are in danger of losing their livelihoods for exercising a constitutionally protected right. Legal gun owners are trying to protect themselves, their family, and others. But the Marxists and the people that they've brainwashed, take the God-given right of self-defense away with gun control. You want gun control? Go live in Jolly Ol' England and see how you like socialism. But don't commie my country!

Brian Carter

Nice! Thanks for the review Nutn! Pretty sure I’m gonna get a Shield Plus as my first carry gun soon 👍

Matthew Jantz

I’d say about 98% of the time is my carry average, even though a lot of the time it’s the LCP coming along

Johnny Motorcycle

With covid carry % has gone down to 85%. I work from home. Pre-covid I was at 95%. Sporting the G26 today in the basement office. Oftentimes I'll have an AR or AK sitting next to me.

weston wilson

i carry maybe about 15-20%. I work and go to school pretty much it. I carry at home but in public dont have a firearm on me. Work prohibits and school prohibits and school its a felony and work is my job. I cant really change much about that. Oklahoma sucks in its own ways.

Steven Schaffner

99%. Glock 42 summer/regular carry, Glock 43x security at work, and Glock 43x/17 security at church.

Patrick Richards

I really don’t like the mushy-ness the the p365 trigger. I had an original m&p and liked the gun overall but hated the trigger. Couldn’t predict the reset or when it would break so I sold it. The 2.0’s fixed the break and reset so maybe I’ll give this new shield a try. I still have the G43 and wife has 43x (she prefers full grip). I know the Glocks aren’t the best trigger in the world but I have trained with it so much I know exactly when it breaks and resets. I carry 100% when I leave the house. Also very excited for the NEW TNP GEAR!!

Racing Psychosis

90-99%, not on the race track, stashed at the race track in the rig. Still running a Hellcat in a Knightfall Customs Kydex, and a 19 in winter in a Bravo Concealment thermal plastic Torsion.

Zak Orendorff

I have such a rough day today. I needed a TNP video to bring me back down to reality. Thanks for the post Nutn.

Michael B warner

I carry a Glock 27 in a Galco Classic Lite rig. I would say I carry it between 90-95% of the time. And depending on ware I'm going on a given the day I may carry 2 backup 15 rounders in a Spanker belt mag carrier. With the shoulder rig that gives me a total of three 15rnd mags plus the factory 9 rounder in the gun. Although I only pack that heavy when I know I'm working in the city, or I'm going out of town.

Charles New

When i used to work driving a school bus i would only carry on my days off, i was afraid i would forget and show up to work with it and have problems. but now i am retired and up to about 95% and a big help to that was the lcp2 380, i upsize often but i almost always have that on me. with a spare mag.

Alex Wetmore

Honest answer would be about 85% - I work at a university so I can’t carry at work. It stays in my truck and goes on my hip when I get off each day. Other times I don’t carry would be if I’m grabbing a drink with friends or unable to in another state. I carry a sig 1911 each day (yes really…I promise). Depending on season/clothing, it’s either a sig 5” STX .45, 4.2” nightmare fastback .357sig, or 3” ultra compact .45. I’m a pretty big guy so the weight of a steel 1911 doesn’t bother me.

Phillip Robinette McKracken

Every time I see a smick/weck, I remember their early betrayal of the 2nd amendment revival period, and submitting to the beast. And didn't really like their Shield offerings....so there is that. Sorry for my sad clown face. And 87% compliance. Because I would like to rust my snub revolver to pieces... The village children run and scream from my rivulets of sweat. Been a hot one. :)

jonesy

I carry my SIG P320 Nitron Compact .45 90% of the time.

Ruben Lopez

Walther PPS classic, 95% of the time not including while at work. 👊🏾 Love you Nutn! ⚡⚡⚡ 40 yr old Electrician Apprentice - 1yr now!

Chris carr

90% 10% mostly do to running out the door and forgetting to grab it.

KentuckyJake

I was ~75% when I carried a P07… going to the 365XL last year it’s now 99%.

Dawson Rabb

50%-60% 😔 I need a shield or 365 to bring this number up.

Matthew Larson

I would put myself at about 80% from last year. Unfortunately, my carry percentage dropped off because of a move this year. Got my CCW a month ago, just need to get back in the habit, for sure! I even have a 2.0 Shield, so no excuse there...

Josh P.

I'd say on a day basis about 60%, but I can only carry for half the day being I cant carry at work per regulation. Wish it was higher, but it is what it is. Still loving the G43 as my choice

Jerome J

I bought the old shield after you've reviewed it a number of years ago. I liked it a lot, it was accurate, reliable and the size is awesome. I did have a few mag drops while getting out of the car while IWB 4 o'clock. I sold it because I wasn't willing to change my method of carry at the time. My daily carry is the P365 now. sometimes the G26. I find the SIG hard to beat. Just my 2 cents.

William H

I had the original Shield in CA, it was a nice gun. I switched to a G43 when I left CA, for uniformity of grip angle purposes only. While in home state: 75% LCP2, 24% G19/G43, 1% I forgot to grab a gun. While visiting family in CA: 0%.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

I carry on body 100 percent away from home (Glock 42 w. 9 rounds) and 90+ percent at home (Glock 19). Sometimes my back just says NO, so it's in a pleather holster right beside me. Or I will just switch to my 42 which I can't even feel. Always carry at or near 3 o'clock. My town is considered "safe" but I swear my spidey sense is always tingling when I'm at the gas station or grocery store.

The Nutnfancy Project

Wow Nancy that is amazing. Keep up that great work. The G42 is a great choice. I too like carrying at gas stations where I go. The town is great but sometimes there's weirdos hanging out there.

The Nutnfancy Project

"While visiting family in CA: 0%." No blame there, commie state with bad right to carry laws. I still carry a G43 a lot too William.

Garrett Dismukes

I just bought a Winchester 1300 defender from a estate sale for $125.00. little exterior rust but the inside was prefect. Hasn’t been ran much at all.

Robert Avery

75% and working on improving.

Galen C Cook

I'd say 95% of the time I have a gun on me or in some sort of on body LPAC system. The P365 in a Galco classic light is pretty much nirvana for me... backed up with the man bag which can take the gun if it needs to.. and has a NAA Pug my wife got me for a birthday in a little fanny pack that can break away from the kit. My going into downtown HPAC bag and commuting to work during and election season bag is a G19 with 4-33rd mags. Totally get what you mean Nutn by needing something intermediate between open carry WROL, and normal EDC. It's not often I'll take that kit, but when I do I'm glad it's there. Thanks for all the great EDC vids! You've really helped square away my systems.

Harley

Trash pistol…..better stick with your Pico 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tacticaldoodle

It would be kinda cool to have a fully rusted, super worn snub bought new.

Kenny VanCleave

Me personally, I carry a sharp stick. That's right, I'm a fashion setter when it comes to weapons carry. Just think about it. You can carry a sharp stick everywhere. An airport, a BBQ party or while your watching television. I'll take my sharp stick and pretend to stick it in the eye of a bad guy while I'm watch my favorite show. Plus you can take your 10" sharp stick, snap it in half and BAM, you have a compact carry. A win win.

Aceman1126

Was wondering when The Brave One Part 2: Electric Boogaloo was coming aka The Braver One. Been carrying since I was 18. Started with all steel 40 cal baby eagle which I still love and carry occassionally, and when the shield first came out, like within that first couple days my wife (god rest her soul) bought one for me for my birthday and have carried it all day every day since. The only time I don't have it on me is when I can't. If I have to fly or do a job at a restricted area it's sadly not with me and I'm stuck with my trusty rolls of quarters as my only defensive tools. The good thing is I've yet to find a place that won't allow money hahahaha But as for the 1st gen shield it's been a fantastic ccw gun. I did mod it over the years with some really nice bright orange ameriglo front night sight and all black raised rear night sight that can be used to rack the gun off a belt or table. Added a crimson trace laserguard I got on a trade... won't say to buy one for what they cost but this was basically free for me and doesn't subtract anything so why not. Added decal grips to the 1st gen... it was pretty slick when new and only got slicker years later. And finally added the apex trigger. I was always decent with it stock and that's why it took me years to swap the trigger but after shooting one with an Apex installed I was sold. I carry with the flush mag so I got 8 rounds before I need to reload and I carry the extended mag as a back up with an extra power spring and hyve extension so that's 10 more rounds. Been happy ever since and still carry it today. It's on me right now. Only time I ever needed a gun in my life I had it with me and was happy I did. But that's a story for another time and I doubt many of you would wanna hear it. As for the shield plus I bought it the 1st week it was out and plan to transition to it soon. I already have the same sights for it as my OG shield and am only not carrying it for 2 reasons. First I wanna run it a lot before I trust it. I've only gotten to fire like 150 rounds thru it and so far it's been 100% but I dont like carrying anything without at least 200 thru it. Secondly, I ordered and have installed a rail from recover tactical and installed an olight pl mini baldr light/green laser on it. I wanna run 200 rounds with it too to see if it holds up. I'm skeptical on olight for reliable weapons lights but it was affordable enough to roll the dice on and even if it fails it wont affect the gun. I have 50 rounds thru the gun with it installed and so far it's holding combat accuracy with the laser and hits a 3 inch plate at 10/15 yards every time so it's got potential. Maybe I'll make a vid about it after a year of running it. Waiting on a custom holster for it now. I plan to carry it at home and stuff and give it hell as soon as that comes in for a few weeks and shoot as much 9mm reloads as I can thru it and we'll see. The plus is a great gun. Perfect grip traction and the trigger is almost as good as the apex and it comes with it. The capacity is good. Everything is good. You can even interchange parts between the two... I can put my og slide and barrel right on my plus frame and vice versa and it works fine. Sights are the same. Holsters are the same. Crimson trace laser fits fine. It's literally the exact same gun with better grip, better trigger, and wider mag well for the new mags. I wouldn't be suprised if you couldn't mill the OG shield mag well out and use the plus mags as is... they're THAT similar. Anyways if anyone has questions from someone that has both just holla and I'll help however I can. Great vid as always Nutn glad you're still doin this.

TJ

Great video as always! I carry my G26 90% of the time in a tier 1 holster. My G43 the other 5% plus. I carry the 43 at my second job in my pocket with an extra mag. I also carry a G17 in my EDC bag because my better have hardly ever carries and never when she is with me. So in high in sight I carry for her as well. I carry my edc bag 95% of the time as well.

Jacob Hurst

I’m still just rocking my G26. I have for so long there’s no reason to change in my opinion. It works good for me and it shoots so well

Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest

Walther PPS M2 PRIMARILY during ROL. 95% I go to hospitals that it's illegal to carry in sometimes and I don't carry in there. Canik TP9SF or SF Elite (soon to be S120 as well) I carry 100% of the time if its semi WROL which was all of 2020 and some of this year. Previously carried G43, G42, Bersa Thunder 380, and the original SW Shield. I hated the trigger on the original shield shield.

Michael McAtee

75% I work for a government contractor and can’t carry at work.

Rusty Chains

Still have mine, but my current carry is G48MOS. Haven't shifted to the Shield mags or red dot yet, but that is the eventual plan when I have time to verify function with the mags. I always have pistol on my right hip when I go out the door, even at that I never go inside the Atlanta perimeter.

p Barnes

lot of 32 TNP patches for sale on eBay. some no longer available

Justin Otte

I carry 100% percent of the time. For years I rocked a MK9 Elite Kahr in a pocket holster while at work, and recently went with the Shield Plus to cut weight. Outside the office I rotate depending on circumstances a 586 L comp 357, G20 10mm or Glock 17.

Mike R

Nut said in a livestream they’re still cool, but the one video the went up that narrow trail they scraped up BAD’s brand new truck and his wife was really not happy about it. So she wasn’t really keen on him going back out to test with Nutnfancy. Haha

Schmuckatelli

Can't believe I missed that live stream. Going to have to go back and try to find it on YouTube.

Schmuckatelli

I really like carrying my G48 with the 15 round Shield Arms mags. It gives you G19 capacity with a thinner profile. I have a Galco Miami Classic II shoulder rig for it. The SA mags are super hard to find, but if you sign up for notifications on their website, they'll let you know when they're in stock.

david rockwell

100% carry. The impetus to be of aid to others and loved ones should be motivation enough. This is the same reason I have trauma training and carry trauma gear. The Shield is/was a great offering when first introduced. I picked up a used Shield with two mags for $150.00 four years previous. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.,

About 95% carry while awake for the last 3 years. Shield 45 m2 performance center. Awesome gun except for the fiber optics which do not seem to pick up the light very well indoors . Pocket carry Now if they can plus size it for an extra couple of rounds and add night sights...

After carrying a Walther PPS 40 for 5+ years, I decided to upgrade my EDC pistol. I researched sub-compact 9mm pistols (2 mths), and decided to buy a S&W (Perf Center) Shield Plus 9 w/Crimson Trace optics & 4" barrel before this video came out. Thanks for confirming my choice Nutn.

I generally carry all the time. The only place I do not is work, because they have a wonderful little clause in their contract allowing for vehicle searches and terminations. They have a metal detector at the door and X-ray machine that I haven’t defeated yet. But otherwise I carry where ever I can, so I would give it a 80-90% because of work. My current set up is a Snake Eater Duty belt usually with four mag pouches (2 for mags and one for a flashlight and another for a sharpie). Then depending on gun I will carry IWB, OWB, or a shoulder holster. The current flavor of the month is a G23 with Agrips, but I alternate between a G30s with Agrips, G19x, and a SIG P320. I know that sounds heavy, but the belt is modular and given how WROL is not a guarantee, I’d rather have more as a dumbass civilian.

I live in Chicago. I carry 99% of the time (and you sure as hell better)! The only time I don't carry is when I'm flying or going to a sports event. In this city you better carry as much as you can and with a double-stack pistol with A LOT of ammo. I know in other more sane places you would probably only need a couple rounds to stop the threat in a self defense scenario but NOT here. It's not uncommon for Chicago thugs to travel in packs and for a CCW holder to encounter 2-4 armed sociopaths. The Shield Plus along with 1-2 spare mags would be the minimum carry piece and a good option.

Great review as always. One question: Is Smith & Wesson changing over to a different trigger on their M&P line? That standard trigger on the Plus is not a hinged trigger and looks A LOT like an after-market flat-faced Apex. Maybe the patent on the Apex has expired...and S&W has decided that imitation is the best form of flattery? 🤔

Mike S

That's something I noticed too. I guess Smith & Wesson finally heard all the complaints about the hinged triggers on the M&P's that perhaps they finally decided to do something about it.

I carry 99% of the time not counting at work. Unfortunately I work at a airport as maintenance and frequent the "secure areas" and am not legaly able to carry at work. Could I get away with it, yes However Unfortunately I would rather be murdered than deal with the aftermath of defending myself in a secure area of an airport. Yes I should find a job I can carry at but the pay, benefits. And schedule can't be beat for me.

But...we seriously need a video about life right now...

I carry 76% of the time, the remaining 24% i cannot carry because I work in a secure facility which carrying a firearm is not permitted, so the gun stays in the truck. my most recent carry of choice this past year has been the 365XL thanks to your reviews!

I recently started carrying so I can’t give an honest % yet. Still getting used to carrying in puplic. Working on my fashion to not look so obvious. I was not comfortable with a “compact” in a hard kydex holster so I just purchased a Sig P365 and soft leather holster. I’m so happy with how well it carries.

In the last 3 years I've NOT CARRIED for 2 days and 4 hours. Couldn't carry while traveling for a funeral, and got caught at a concert and had to leave in my truck. I'm in NH so carrying is easy. Glock 19- 80% glock 26- 20%

99 %. On duty as a Pro constitution LEO Sig P250 w/ tlr1HL and off duty with a Taurus G2C 3rd gen. I only take it off to go to the gym, or run. Its difficult finding a good concealment holster for work out shorts.

When people carry tiny guns. “Just carry a bigger gun. I believe In you. “. I carry a 19x 70% and a Hellcat when it’s unbelted shorts time. Total carry is still say is only about 80%. But I’m about 90% carry on my medical bleed out kit.
