Value Swiss Dive watch which we scored for an incredible deal. Probably will sell out quickly at JomaShop but it's a fun exercise in seeing how an excellent Swiss value brand interprets the type.  This version is a quartz movement, expect to pay a bunch more for an auto mvmnt (Swiss ones are inordinately expensive too). Some value HOF TNP dive watches are shown as competitive options too.

I bought two of the Pagani watches you reviewed and the hallow hands are definitely my least favorite feature. Makes no sense why they did this, makes me want to start programming especially seeing how the one you programmed looks.

Cyborg009

Hollow hands can work for me.

jonesy

Thank you for all you do…greeting from South Carolina…

tim hanley

Skeletonized hands aren't "automatically" a deal breaker for me if the overall legibility isn't terrible. Sometimes it just adds a little detail and interest to the overall look. I bought my first watch about 5 years ago after watching a Casio ProTrek review...of course it was a ProTrek. As of last week, I have 47 watches. Maybe 10 Casio, a couple Wenger chronographs, several Timex, some Chinese homages, a fabulous Phoibos Eagle Ray, a couple Tissots...just a mix of watches that turn me in. Keep 'em coming, I'll be watching.

IndianaBen

Still would love to see another EDC vid with watches added. That EDC and tactical blade combo vid is maybe the single best knife video on YouTube. So many new products since then. Lots of fun themes to play with.

Bryon Margo

Another great review NUTN. I've been a TNP fan and watching the videos since I was 18. I'm 30 now and finally became a patreon supporter recently. Keep up the great work sir!

Jonathan-James

I love the WRV's. Thanks for keeping them going.

Adam Boyd

I enjoyed the mini embedded krv...says the non watch guy 😉 Glad to hear the Trident is much improved. I still have an old Trident Elite that is adequate for my vehicle emergency system. I don't carry it on me. I have a few with glass breakers that I rotate in a fixed location in my Jeep.

Prices are already up, but I wasn't in the market. I figure, if you need swiss at this price, go to the Glycine Combat Sub. Automatic Sellita, sapphire, 200m, unlimited size, color, dial variations. Also, Alpina could scale their branding back 60%, I'm looking for the time, not your logo.

Hugh Amlett

If hollow hands are legible I can live with them. Low vis hands are a no go for me.

John S

I hate to admit it, but I am now a watch wearer. I never cared for watches, but my brother kept berating me that I need to "become a man" and start wearing a watch. So I started watching some of the WRVs...now I have a Casio Ediface on my wrist. Thanks Nutn for helping me "become a man" ...according to my brother! lol

Downtrodden

This Alpina is beautiful. I work with an overseas team and a GMT movement makes a lot of sense. A quartz GMT makes even more sense if it sits for a few days and want it to be correct when putting it back into use. I love the functionality of divers. Chronos are just too busy, fields are too simple, and smart watch’s are too distracting.

Craig

Bought my wife an alpina a few years ago. Had 100m water resist, but not screw down crown. Had water ingress after she washed her hands. Was very frustrating! Made me swear off Alpina and non screw down crowns all at once.

David and Elizabeth

Thanks Nutn for introducing us to this Alpina brand. Yes, it's quarts but c'mon, y'all! $280 for a great looking Swiss GMT diver with date window rated for 300 meters!? Yes, please!!! Would use the GMT function to keep track of Nutn Livestream local time.😁 For what it's worth, right now this lists for $795 on Alpina's website.

Jayson Fraser

I commented on the recent Microtech review that I'm trying to delay the inevitable in getting into watches, but these cool WRVs aren't making it easy! I always wear a watch, but $20-30 Casios are the most expensive I've ever bought myself. They've got the 1st cool that I need, and just enough 2nd cool to keep my appetite satiated, hopefully at least until I make more money 😁

Dawson Rabb

Man, the hands mods you do have left me wanting more from almost every watch in the hands department. I'm going to have to roll up my sleeves and learn the art.

Doug Rose

I enjoy the WRV , KRV and GRV and OUTDOOR ADVENTURE presentations. Please continue all.

Reinbeck_11

I’m not a watch guy, but I check out your reviews looking for gifts so I don’t pass my flaws onto my children.

Schmuckatelli

I learn something new in every TNP vid. I didn't know that SOG upgraded the Trident. I have one of the old ones (an NRA giveaway several years ago), and I'd be excited to get my hands on a new one. That OD green handle looks pretty awesome.

Schmuckatelli

I'm not a fan of hollow hands for the low visibility reason. I'm in my 50s and my eyes are starting to go. So I have to be selective on the watches I wear. They must have high-contrast hands and a positive display if they have the day/date feature. Hollow hands just do not cut it for me.

Schmuckatelli

Excellent choice, the Ediface. I have one also and love it.

Schmuckatelli

I have a Casio MDV-106 Duro (actually 3 of them) and they're only $50 a piece. But I love those watches, and from more than 3 feet away, it's hard to tell the difference between that and a Rolex Submariner. An additional bonus is if you want to start modding your watches (or programming, as Nutn would call it), it won't break the bank if you destroy a $50 watch.

Schmuckatelli

This comment reminds me of the joke, "I'm not a gynecologist, but I'll take a look."

Schmuckatelli

Hey, Nutn! I highly recommend you retain this Patreon member (Tim Hanley) for your WRVs. He obviously gets it.

Schmuckatelli

You asked if any of us use the GMT function on our watches, well...I do not. As a matter of fact, this WRV is the first time I've ever even heard of this function (another new thing I learned watching this video). But I have no need for it and would never use it...even if I had watches with it.

tim hanley

Thanks Schmuck! Nice to meet you!

Dawson Rabb

Yea I have never had a watch with that feature. It's sounds really cool to me but I don't have a wrist computer.

Dawson Rabb

I was never really into watches until the watch show fired up. Turns out hollow hands and big ass chapter rings were the main turn offs. It's crazy to see how much a watch transforms with nice solid hands. I see watch manufacturers doing that more often now. I'd like to think it's TNP pushing that.

WallBreaker37

You’re not kidding about the watches going fast. I’ve tried to get several of them a few days after your reviews came out, and have only been able to get one over the years. Keep those watch reviews coming and hopefully I’ll learn to be more diligent in the future

Jayson Fraser

I like the look of that one. I'll add it to my list. I'm all for high value pieces like that. It seems that Casio has hit a great balance between function, form, and price to appeal to people like me. I think it'd be cool to mod watches too. I've done some simple mods on knives and (almost always) like them better when I finish.

Stoolmaker

Slowly creeping into the watch game. Ran G-Shock GD100 for many years before switching to the Apple Watch 3 for health data. Now running the Whoop system which leaves an opening. Prices seem to be all over the place for very similar looking watches!

Jordan Parker

I get into a rut on my carry watches and knives as well. I need to make a point to pull out some of my older favorites. The solid white hand mod looks nice on this watch given that the white portion of the original hands was fairly small.

Ben H.

Hollow hands for SAWC. Just kidding. I dont favor the hollow hands either. I've been getting lured in slowly every watch review you release. I have a casio solar powered watch but i believe the battrry needs to be replaced which Ive been putting it off.

Michael B warner

You've turned me into a watch freak I can't always afford to pull the trigger on every WRV but I sure wish I could. I've currently been in a rut between waring my Fleuss and Hawker Hurricane 4011-01. I loved it so much I remembered the case number lol. I am also with you in disliking hollow hand's I turn my nose up at many Avi-8 pieces because of that reason. The Harrier line is really cool except for the hollow hand's, to me it makes it harder to read. I can never just give it a quick glance, rather I have to take a second to focus in the hand positioning. It's just kind of an annoyance 1st cool pulls rank over 2nd cool aesthetics in this case lol.

NoBullDoozer

-retracted-deleted- my rant. Im not happy its $370 vs the $270 you display. But, upon further research it is still a good deal. Damn it! Quartz yeah BUT, its Alpina, its 300m, an fing GMT with supporting inner marking PLUS a dive bezel? You can get auto divers for this price. Not with GMT, and many with less heritage.

Chris Kalla

I'm not in the watch game yet, but for sure the lack of visibility on hollow hands is a no-go.

Ben H.

The hour hand on the shield marious looks like a Whataburger order tent. Nice watch!

hoplite ⚔️

Schmuckatelli is right. The Casio MDV 106 is a great place to start. Love my classic black one. My 5 year old is eyeing my blue one for when his wrist is big enough..

hoplite ⚔️

Dude, dude, dude… We love the WRVs!! Been eyeing the Seastrong. It’s yum. There is a Stuhrling homage-esque design, the Maritimer 935 on Amazon for those looking for a similar aesthetic with an even more affordable price. There is a nice grey/turquoise coloration and the classic black comes across with contrast and boldness. Looks good! Hollow hands are hurt. Don’t see a need for a GMT in my EDC uses. Side note - removed the thumb studs on my full size griptilian and forced a zip tie through the hole for waving. Followed up with a mini zip tie through the loop of the first zip tie to make a “thumb stud”, works great. Thanks for all the fun Nutn & Co. We sure love the clubhouse!

RowdyRon

The Wenger, and the Alpina were both sweet! I hope you keep the WRVs coming. I'm paranoid about batteries as well. Most of my watches are autos, or solar. That Alpina is so cool I might consider a quartz! Thanks Nutn.

Charles New

Love the solid hands for sure, Maybe not a deal breaker if the overall contrast is good.

Jerry Hall

Awesome looking watch

WILLIAM MEYER

Hey Nutin, thanks for the wrv's and the krv's....love watching them. I do, however, disagree with your favoring autos over quartz. My take, autos are heavy and inaccurate, requiring the wearer to intervene, adjust time, at least once per week. My edc quartz is a Bulova Precisionist (says it all) accurate to within 2 minutes a YEAR. I have verified this for the last 2 years. My secondary is a Casio Pathfinder (based on your recommendation thank you!) With the right tools changing batteries is pretty simple and generally required only every 2-3 years. Thanks again Nutin, love the conversational way you present your findings. bill m

Mark Horan

Mrss Nutnfancy - pick me! Pick me! You did an awesome job reviewing the Sig 365.

John Jex

The benefit to quartz is significant. Autos only have two elements that make them a consideration: they're collectible (meaning that they will have more value over quartz in the resale market), and that they don't require batteries. The first of which is only beneficial if you plan on selling an auto watch. Other wise I prefer quartz as well.

Jayson Fraser

It is a good looking watch. I'm a sucker for blue myself. Your 5 year old has good taste 😁

David Langston

I've never own a Alpina and I need one. Thanks for all the years of content.

Chris Hibler

Thanks so much! The Wenger mentioned here is quite awesome.

Devin Heald

Always love adding new EDC watches as well as knifes you recommend!!!!!

Z-non

I’ve gotta buy more long term food storage. Anyone finding anything that isn’t an insane ripoff?

Robert Avery

Still enjoying the watch reviews over here.

Daniel Herb

Ewww the Wenger stuff is going up in cost. I would have picked up both the Wenger and Alpina from this vid but don't want to drop that much money at once for both, so probably just the Wenger at this time.... I do have the Glycine which has GMT which is handy in the military. Great finds tho Nutn!

The Nutnfancy Project

Good to hear the love of the quartz watch here! They are more affordable and the bulk of what I review, thanks JJ

The Nutnfancy Project

Me too brother. BTW after I hands modded this I ruined the movement! The Rhonda mvmnts are very delicate, easy to touch the coil and then they're gone. I'll do a vid on how to replace them though, it's pretty easy. Been loving the knife btw Charles.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thanks for you kind comment and enthusiasm on the WRVs William. I will keep them coming and it's exciting to see the enjoyment grow amongst TNPP here for EDC watches. Just so much fun to have a collection. More so than even knives...woh did I just say that?!

The Nutnfancy Project

You are correct. Usually Alpinas go for $400 or above, even for quartz. The problem I have is getting the videos out while these very short lived deals exist at Jomashop. But keep you eyes peeled on my Twitter account. I will post more of them there too.

The Nutnfancy Project

Correct, I don't use it either. I have an Apple Watch computer on the other wrist for such things. Mostly a 2nd Cool thing I think.

The Nutnfancy Project

Sub to my Twitter account and jump when I post them; sorry they sell so fast but man they go. I'm editing a Deep Blue Titanium diver now and it can't even be found on their website now, wth?

The Nutnfancy Project

Send me one and I'll mod it for free for you. You will love it! Drop me a line and send a pre paid USPS back to you and I'll do it.

Schmuckatelli

I highly recommend you take Nutn up on his offer. He did this for a watch of mine (Deep Blue Master 1000) which had low contrast hands and was difficult to read. I was considering putting the watch on eBay. I just happen to send Nutn a pictures of several watches I purchased based on his reviews and he made me the same offer. After the NHM, my Deep Blue is a high contrast, easy to read watch which I love wearing. He literally saved that watch for me.

JRP

Keep the WRVs rolling Nutn! Loving the variety that you display.

Jesse (Sphinx)

Cool watch. I prefer my automatics long term, but kind of annoying to set them every time I swap watches! I end up wearing the same watch for weeks just to avoid taking time to set another one in the morning. Current favorite watch is my RESCO Hooper with ETA movement. Vintage style, but larger (41mm-ish) and a bombproof case. Made in America by veteran-owned business too. Love it.

Paul Griech

i just got my watch gang black tier subscription watch this month! it’s caller HLA Diver Hawaii lifeguards association! it has grown on me i though at first i had a wall clock on my arm. it’s not an auto i think i’ve only got one other automatic lol

Logan Holmberg

I've got a similar white-faced Wenger and I love it as well. When I don't wear it I have it on a stand so that I can use it as a clock on my desk. Its so legible in most conditions.

Logan Holmberg

I mainly use GMT or dual time functions to keep track of my Brother's time zone so I can call him. He is an RCMP office in Whitehorse. When I used to travel I used to so I knew what time it was back home when I would check in.
