I don’t mind the quick online review, definitely a fun change but the one thing you have to know with any tent: Does it leak.

Luke Stephens

Great new form to add to the arsenal Nutn

Jonathan-James

Yes! Shelter option, and I have been getting in a gear rut. Have another direction to move in. I like this form of review. Great product as usual Nutn. Thank you.

The Nutnfancy Project

I've never had of my Kelty's leak! That do a great job of seam sealing the stitching. Thanks David

Matthew Sinn

I have a Kelty 2 person for camping myself... not sure the model, but I wholeheartedly agree on your points about having lots of mesh and how nice the clip system is for the poles. I think I'm almost 10 years into using mine, camping 3-4 times a year, and it's still like new. Judicious use of tarp underneath is key for preserving the floor.

Younggun995

I've had my GM4 for 3 seasons, love it! Never leaked. Does hold some moisture though (with fly on, amazing when fly is off). I'll watch the vid tonight nutn, thanks for the work put in!!

Bravo

Awsome review I’m actually in the market for a good tent like this. I’d like to see some, more reviews about light weight camping gear. As to the lengths I do occasionally like the sort videos, but I find often they lack some info and detail. I would like to see perhaps a compromise and maybe some 10 min reviews and then the occasional feature length video, . Such as philosophy vids, BOK vids. WROL vids that kind of think. Love the show keep em cranking!

Matt W Plank

Cool! When I saw OR, I thought you might be reviewing scalpels!😆 Actually, the blade I was carrying today, the CEO, basically is! Thanks, Nutn’!

Joooosh

I Appreciate the review! Would love to see more backpacking gear in the future.

James Mabe

Boo boo love the fact that you're bringing this content do not like the form factor inset footage living in tents alley the mountain dog stealing food,(pepperidge farm remembers) this is the content we have become accustomed to, give the people what they crave!!!

Charlie grimes

Awesome !! Glad to see camping equipment review!!

Bernal

Looks good. But I am always skeptical, because I am THE DESTROYER OF ZIPPERS.

David Wallen

In depth with full POU is my favorite, but appreciate these as well!

Steve Ouellette

I liked it. Sometime I’d like your take on mountain bikes.

steve garrett

I use an alps lynx 4 which is similar. I had a lynx 6 which blew into lake powell that they no longer make, that was my favoritie dome tent. DAX poles, tall enough to almost stand up, but still light enough. most tents in the 6 class are double the weight. I use a light dome 4 person for boat and float trips. I use kodiak for my car camping.

David Goodridge

There isn’t a more comfortable feeling than being hunkered down in bad weather in a good tent with a good dog. On my bucket list is at least one more night like that, somehow. Thank you for the information.

Metal-Militia

Love camping reviews, especially tents. Thanks Nutnfancy 👍💯💗😎

Nathan P Hubsch

I miss the camping gear reviews, probably will buy this tent just so I have 2 in case one fails. First trent I bought ripped on the first outing, very disappointing. Second tent, which I have now is a single pole, fast deployment tent and its been good so far.

RowdyRon

Interesting format. Might work best for certain items, like the tent. I have to admit that I'm partial to your "standard capacity" reviews. L-o-v-e the bunker reviews with TD! How's LS doing? Long time no see. Thanks Nutn.

david rockwell

Found TNP while searching PF9 so many years ago. Remained for the diverse content and forthright, just individual that is the heart of this channel. The review is perfectly timed as portable shelter is a significant deficit in my preparedness schema. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

The Nutnfancy Project

Copy that. I would have to do some research on that, I'm not the expert on them.

The Nutnfancy Project

LastSuspect is busy with school, soon to graduate. SAdly he doesn't like helping out in TNP really. Actually neither does TD. Thanks for the feedback on the reviews. These ones will be 90% accurate I think.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thank you David for your kind comment and sticking with me so long. These Grand Mesas are some of the top tents I'd buy for BOK use. It's a bunch of weight but man, there's nothing like a ready to go high quality shelter in those times.

Rob Miller

Still using a Kelty tent from the early 90’s. Many nights on the ground back when I was younger and single and it’s made it through both my boys From Cub Scouts to earning their Eagles. Best guess 100 nights easy. On my second Red Wing. Wore the first one out, but I bought it used at a pawn shop in Key West! Gooood Times.

Stan White

Love it may need to get one of theses

Nathan P Hubsch

The one that ripped was the Featherstone Ul Granite 2p. The stitching on the door seams ripped, luckily I had duct tape. Now, I'm working with a Moon Lence pop up 4 person. For a $100 tent it's working well.

Jordan Parker

100% agree with you on the need for a lot of mesh/ventilation in a tent! This looks like a great option, the Kelty tents my boys and I have used have all been wonderful.

William Rice

I like the short review format

J Ram

I remember years ago first watching Glacier Call and thought that was so cool that you were able to take Allie with you but kept thinking that tent's smelling like wet dog for at least the next three outings, lol. Thank goodness COVI came along and took away my smell so I don't have to worry about that anymore! Great review, I like the format also but wouldn't want to see everything go to this format (I'm all in for FLRs)

Mudtoa

Like the format!

Elijah Ballard

I second this request! A lot of locals ride Kona’s here. They get pricey quick!

Downtrodden

I have a nice ultralight Cabela’s one man tent for moto camping. I’d like something bigger because the whole setup wouldn’t work if I didn’t also carry a Kelly Noah wing tarp. Lots of moto riding gear is necessary and it’s good to have dry gear in the morning.

Drew Kinsel

Bought the Gunnison 2 many years ago on your recommendation. Still running strong, it will be getting deployed into the Black Hills this spring turkey season.

Derek W Tiller

i've had the grand mesa 2 for over 5 years. it has been an excellent tent. once the fly is properly installed and staked it's held up well to some pretty nasty gales. has always kept me dry so far. really like the colors of the new one... hmmmmmm, dang it nutn! 😆

Lorenzo

Yes, these reviews are cool; a good way to let nothing slip by since you cannot be outside and everywhere all the time. 🇺🇸

Prettyfly

A reviewer on the Campmor Kelty Grand Mesa 4 Tent was mentioning that the tent floor was not a single piece of material. They stated it was patch worked together with glue to form a big piece. Is this an issue? Reviewer -- "The Kelty Grand Mesa 4-person tent was, as advertised, and is fairly simple to set up. I was disappointed to see that the floor of the tent, unlike the Eureka Timberlines we previously purchased from Campmor, was not constructed from one piece of nylon. Instead, the Grand Mesa’s floor is made from multiple pieces of material, with glue along the seams. IMO, that design seems to be inferior to the single-piece design, and will likely not last nor perform as well over the years. Campmor still offers a wide line of camping products at competitive prices and is still above their competitors on customer service! We are happy to be returning customers to Campmor! view less "

I am not exactly a fan of this short format. I watch because of your extensive usage and in depth review of a product. That being said, if you are still testing the product and this short format allows you to post much more frequently, that might be more beneficial to everyone.

Steve Feeser

Great Tent review. Keep them coming. I like light and value. Hard to find and I can’t afford to buy several to try them out. I may get this for two person backpacking with my 14yo son.

Dione Kollee

I REALLY DIG THIS FORMAT. ITS VERY DIRECT & INFORMATIVE. I LOVE GETTING YOUR HONEST OPINION THROUGH THIS QUICK SORTA VID. DONT GET ME WRONG, I STILL PREFER THE FEATUR LENGTH FORMAT. IM ALSO GLAD YOU DID THE POLE FOR ALL OF US PATREON PEOPLE TO VOTE ON. I JUST PICKED MY MY FIRST PAIR OF SALOMON SHOES. IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HEAR YOUR HONEST OPINION ON SALOMONS. THEIR PRICE POINT, DURABILITY ETC. THANKS NUTN!

Boris Covfefeovich

Curiosity beckons. Given your decades long emphasis on size and weight considerations, I'm a bit surprised you had not tapped in to the gear that has become trendy with long distance AT or PCT through hikers. Tents and packs from Zpacks, Six Moon Designs, Tarptents, etc. My own favorite is the Solong 6 from Lightheart gear, made right here in NC. Does not have separate mesh and fly though. Worth the compromise for its other qualities. Ditto sleeping bags. Lots of bags in the 2 pound range. Or maybe it is all just video waiting to be edited.......?

Bluegill097

I'm pretty sure I have the 4 and it's great! Their customer service is great too, I had some drunk idiot trip over my guy=line at a concert and tear part of the rain fly...like a week after I bought it... Customer service had me send it in for repair and I had it back in time for my next adventure. I think I only paid shipping one way too, Cool to see it is TNP approved now!

The Nutnfancy Project

"he Grand Mesa’s floor is made from multiple pieces of material, with glue along the seams." That reviewer at the Campmor site must be new to tents. I have several that are made that way and it's never been an issue. The important thing is to have the floor well stitched and seam sealed. Also with use any floor with get pin holes in it and will have to be sealed.

The Nutnfancy Project

Not familiar with those brands; just busy in other content. However I do find any "ultra light" gear is much more expensive (mtn bikes being a good example). Like a lot more. I feel the best interest of my viewers is still served by the high value stuff; may not be quite as light but they can afford it. Esp. for an item like this, meant to be squirrel away in a BOK never to be used.

Todd Schnell

Hey NutnFancy... I just picked up this Grand Mesa 4 for $104.16 +tax ... it dropped another $41 from the price before Christmas @ online site I used for other 2A buys. Can't wait to break it in. Do you recommend getting the Kelty underfloor tarp or is there other light weight options for less?
