TNPr Mitch Gear Check!

Comments

Robert Avery

I love these. Keep em coming.

Schmuckatelli

Hello...My name is Mitch. Send me my free multi-tool. LOL Just kidding. Hey...if you want to post 11 or 12 more gear checks, you won't get any complaints from me!

Todd Strelka

Way to go, Mitch! More gear checks please!

squealer

Add an ankle-carry IFAK for a solid A, I say.

Mike R

Good too see a gear check video again.

M3style1

Definitely keep these coming 🙌🏼

Mitch

Nutn, thanks for taking time to talk the other day. I'm glad I got a B+. Maybe next time I'll get an A. lol

Schmuckatelli

I would give Mitch an A just because he is actually carrying on his person and it's not a .380. Plus he has the 4 requirements to pass a gear check...gun, knife, multi-tool, and flashlight.

Mitch

I have been looking at them. But being a diabetic I usually carry insulin and other stuff already in a bag, maybe I'll just add it there.

Schmuckatelli

IFAK on one ankle and a backup .380 on the other ankle.

Scott Dunn

Love these gear check videos. Great conversations. Mitch seems like a great guy!

Mitch

Thanks!

Schmuckatelli

Hey...good to see you in Patreon, Mitch! Welcome to the jungle.

Mitch

Thanks! I did tell Nutn I'd join. So here I am lol

squealer

You've ponied up $1200 for the WPS pistol. They just started pitching a comfortable looking ankle IFAK for 1/10 that price. But yeah, if you're already sporting a bag of diabetic goodies, that sounds preferable.

Mitch

Oh for sure. I always have one in my vehicle. And generally speaking I have the diabetic bag with me. It will just be more comfortable/convenient for me to keep an IFAK there.

Mitch

Thanks!

I love the interest in 3d printing I'm seeing. I've been doing it for years but just a friendly FYI you don't plug the machine in, download a file and prints start flying out. So many people think that. It's fun if you like to tinker and I highly encourage to learn it but it's jumping down a deep rabbit hole and its not for everyone.

Scott Dunn

Nutn, Sootch just did a nice EDC video and gives you a couple of shout outs. Just FYI. Love that Mitch is a WPS person too. We all need to stick together! Would love to see some collaboration content. Bear Independent keeps a Nutn patch on his gear too if you look closely…

Mitch

For sure! There are a few more people I follow that do show the struggles of 3d printing, gun parts or other things. I think the technology is really cool and the differences in materials (PLA, PLA+, PETG, Vinyl and carbon fiber additives), temp and speed settings and how those all contribute to the quality of the print.

vrich3733

Oh yeah lots of good youtubers in 3d printing. True they're so many variables that can be challenging and or frustrating! lol Then you start upgrading and hot rodding the printer.....lol All joking aside it is fun!👍

I was showing off my TNP Endura to my LGS clerk. He didn’t know what TNP is. How the heck can someone working at a gun store selling spyderco not know Nutn? Shame. Nearly as sad as guys my age who don’t know how to close a back lock or liner lock knife. Rant! Rant! Rant!

Eschebone

I never get tired of seeing gear checks! Fun vid, hope to get caught in one of these someday, haha.

Joshua Pulliam

Went to my chiropractor wearing my TNP Shark hat and he said “Is that a TNP Hat?” It’s opened up the door for a ton of fun conversations while he’s cracking my back! I keep trying to get him to join Patreon.

Joshua Pulliam

Good job Mitch! And welcome to the club! On appendix carry I’ve tried it three times with different firearms and holsters and just can’t figure out how to do it comfortably. I’d love to carry something bigger than my LCP II, but until I can integrate something comfortable and well concealed I’m kinda stuck.

Brad Fegan

Excellent!!! keep posting gear checks. Like to see what everyone else is carrying.

Aermotor

Hahaha nice! Every time I'm at Gunnies I wonder if I'll run into you, but alas it never happens. Still staying strapped as always till the fateful day.

Charles Steimle

Wow!!! I thought only mrs Nutn dropped F bombs🤣🤣 I guess I’m a B+ range. That’s pretty much my edc range. Up grade light though.

David R Benkendorf

Wonder if I'll ever get gear-checked here in Jacksonville, FL. Probably not, but have seen a few videos shot here.

Adrian

Love the Dave Ramsey (Financial Peace) reference out of nowhere! I’d recommend that well ahead of the “buy it anyway” method of financial partnership. ;)

jessee hudson

FYI gear checks are probably my favorite content

Pedro

About time someone passes. Makes the rest of us look bad when they always fail lol. No mouse gun on me.

Ruben Lopez

Come on Nutn, A-! Also if you haven't heard WA is now banning the sale of 11+ round magazines! 🤬

Anthony Schaad

Awesome gear check! I got the same gun … it’s definitely RAD! Actually Took it to one of Johns WPS classes and it’s a workhorse ! Thanks Nutn for all the content!

Mitch

Thanks! Yeah I was torn between the Tier 1 Concealed Axis Elite and the LLOD The Associate V2. The LLOD had better lead times so I went that route. I find it very comfortable, but I have also heard nothing but great things about the Axis Elite.

Mitch

It was the best thing that my wife and I did for our marriage. In fact, many years back (before our debt free journey) I bought a gun without her knowing and it didn't go over well at all. Women want security, and that comes in many ways, financial security is one of them. Now that we have been out of debt for a few years we could easily have a "pew pew sinking fund" in fact, I may start that conversation. lol

Racing Psychosis

Agreed. The Shadowsystems with red-dot that's no joke of a gun man.

Mitch

I subscribe to the WPSN, I don't know what it takes to get on there, but a bunch of other YouTubers have their videos "backed up" there. Maybe something for Nutn to look into. But I have been watching John's pistol classes. Good stuff.

Andrettski

The Sheriffs stand with us so I'm not worried. Only for future purchases when I have to buy the 'Lefty' coast approved firearms, magazines can be easily attained, just ask PROTIFA and BLM.

Andrettski

I just got that black SXP Defender for Home Defense. $195

The Nutnfancy Project

Mitch, you joined up...great to see you here. I like the financial security advice too! Give me your address in msg and I'll see you that MT

Mitch

Sent. Thanks Nutn!

Joshua Pulliam

I’ve tried a AIWB holster for my G-26. Don’t remember the name of the company. And a Phlster AIWB for my Walther. I have a leather IWB for my LCP II that I have even tried appendix. None worked well. I think it’s my body type, but not sure. They just aren’t comfortable.

Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest

great gear check Mitch, I have always been... NEH on appendix carry. I don't like the barrel of a gun pointing towards my crotch. How comfortable is it driving with it that way?

Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest

Fiance and I start out with almost 0 debt besides the house and what's left of my student loans. Dave Ramsey is interesting, I'm not a fan of his in general, but I do and have lived by his philosophy long before he became a thing. don't buy something you don't have the cash for. We've lived by it and been very happy.

Mitch

I think it depends on the cut of the holster. I have the LLOD Associate V2 and it is very comfortable while driving. I've also heard great things about Tier 1 Concealed appendix carry holsters (they just had a much longer lead time when I was buying). For me, appendix is the only way I want to carry. I feel like I have much more control over who can/is around my firearm. I don't need to worry about bending over and having my shirt ride up a bit exposing my firearm. Nor do I need to do the "reach around and make sure my shirt is still covering" move.

Mitch

For sure, I think finding the right holster for your body type can be hard. For reference, I'm 6'3" 205-210lbs, I found that carrying at the 3-4 o'clock position wasn't comfortable for me (And being diabetic and having CGM sensors there that interfere isn't great either). I was a bit nervous carrying AIWB, but now I wouldn't carry any other way. It is so much more comfortable for me and my body type.

Christopher Davis

It’s fun to watch two guys totally nerding out about EDC gear … ;)

Jayson Fraser

I love the gear checks. I’m looking forward to the day I run into Nutn at Gunnies.

kylenor

The gear checks are rad! I'm gonna order a donut knife if they get stock, thing is hilarious!

Downtrodden

Welcome Mitch! The TNP clubhouse is pretty rad and not enough folks know.

Mitch

Thanks!

Derek W Tiller

well done mitch! now go buy a sharpening system!

Mitch

Thanks, I actually do have a cheap sharpening system, I just use that knife daily so it doesn't get the love it should. lol Edit: The fact that I use it daily should mean I give it more love, I'll change that going forward.

Racing Psychosis

I've been running the new hinged T Rex sidecar in appendix carry with my G19s, one of the most comfortable holsters I've ever ran for anything.

Racing Psychosis

Cool gear check guys. Well done. I've been running a Boker as well in a Kalishnikov, damn that steel does not stay sharp, love the knife and action, but I double it up with a my Kershaw Shuffle because the Shuffle stays sharp, but the Boker is quick for defense, when I'm not carry a fixed blade or my usual favorite which is the Natrix or a ZT 0770. I like the Shadow Systems, been very tempted by that gun, in whatever the appendix holster is. I've been running a G19 in a new hinged T Rex Sidecar and that holster for my body type absolutely is awesome, and its flexible if you want to change up and carry on the hip as well.

Mitch

Thanks! Yeah the holster is a LLOD Associate v2. Carries an extra mag and I like it. For a fixed blade I've been really thinking about the Clinch Pick from Shivworks.

Mitch

I have a few of these on in my wishlist. I think throwing them in vehicles or 72h kits would be a great thing to do.

Charles New

Come on over to the patreon clubhouse. Not only more content , but also first crack at the special edition knives that nutn does every once in awhile.

Pat McGroin

Cool gear check. We’re all nerds. I just bought an orange KTM 890 in Feb. loving it. Cant wait to see the review on it. First purchase will be panniers and soft bags.

Jude Torres

One of the better gear checks to date! Good job Mitch! I’d love to meet for an impromptu gear check!

Mobius 1

They recently came out with their 3rd batch of Boker Dessert warrior knives. I picked one up. I love it. That's my go to EDC along with my normal smoke black Boker AK47. Also My edc gun is either a full sized steel 1911, or (and you're going to love this Nutn') my Star BM 9 that I've restored and modified.

Mitch

Thanks!

OutlawGRUNT

I liked Mitch until he said he and his wife followed Dave Ramsey. Then I lived him! Great video, I hope to see more gear checks. I also think Nutnfancy should have failed his gear check because it was in the bike, not on his person!

WILLIAM MEYER

Well done Mitch! I'm with you on the knife serrations. HATE THEM. I wouldn't sharpen it either. I mean, why sharpen 2"?

RowdyRon

Welcome to the group Mitch.

Bryan Palmer

I've missed these vids!! Good stuff.

Mitch

Thanks!

Mitch

Exactly. Maybe it's time to retire this blade and get a new EDC blade that isn't serrated. lol

SirAleric

Great gear check. Man lives deliberately

Rob Miller

Nice video. Welcome Mitch!

jessee hudson

Get a 365 or a hellcat. Then get an Alabama pocket holster. I carry almost everyday this way cause it's so easy. For me even with the 12-13 Rd mags. I work in construction so my waist line is exposed often.

Joshua Pulliam

I pocket carried my LCP II for years. Then a few months ago I switched to IWB. I really like how it’s opened up my pocket again to other stuff. A Hellcat or 365 is next in my list. I’m considering going the 365 XL route.

Mitch

Thanks!

Alex Dodez

I love it when TnPers pass the gear check. It always makes me want to up my game when I see the things pointed out that I miss. Such as, what cartridge grain I'm carrying, a dull edge on. my blade, and broken scissors. I'm am guilty of several of those at times. It reminds me that I need to stay sharp and stay on my game.

Powernoodle

He deserved an "A". He's in the top 1% of EDC-ers. Gun, knife, MT, light.

TenaciousAmerican

Nice Job Mitch. I hope you read this here on Patreon. Welcome.

Mitch

Thanks!

Elijah Ballard

Rock on Mitch! Fellow diabetic here. Never letting it slow me down!

Mitch

Yeah man 🤘

M

I wish every 5th video was a gear check…..

Jared Strawn

Did I miss a review of the KTM 890???
