I love these moto discussions. When I was first married, my wife was the breadwinner while I was finishing up school. Since we had children, I've been the sole provider for the past sixteen years. She works hard in the home teaching and nurturing our children. She's an amazing wife and mother even through several serious health issues.

Always enjoy a good motorcycle rant! Sold my FJR 5 years ago. Couldn’t deal with the 5 gears. Really needed a 6th gear on the older model. My 2018 Goldwing DCT rocks with more power and comfort!

I don’t think I ever ran into a conservative resident while visiting Fort Bragg. My wife and I were walking the bluffs and saw some “environmentalists” doing what they called a raising awareness thing. It was a ballerina in a pink too-too, wearing a gas mask. Certainly no school indoctrination or drug influence there . Enjoyed the banter and the road footage. Thanks Shawn and Nutn!

I just sold my fjr. I didn’t mind the 5 vs 6 since the 6th didn’t really did t lower RPMS much. What I wanted was the up and down quick shifter with blip and the slipper clutch.

When I heard the FJR came out with a 6th gear I wondered if they solved that high RPM issue. I guess they did not. Looking at a BMW GSA as my next bike. The GW is a great bike, but it is a heavy girl.

High RPM issue? It does cruise at a bit higher RPM then I’d like. However it’s so vibration free it was never a problem. Either way next bike will be a more fun bike. Speed triple or mt10 A GW might be heavy but it’s the absolute best $$ can buy on comfort and long distance duty.

In the mid 1980s I had a Honda GL1200 Aspencade. Really nice cruiser. Realizing it’s been almost 40 years ago. A late model FJR would be tits.

Thanks for the fond memories of the PCH. Grew up in the East Bay and enjoyed highways 1 and 9 in addition to a track day at Laguna Seca on my FZR600R. Some great roads and trails east of Fremont too with my XL350R.
