The excellent Cold Steel "Broken Skull" is no more. This was a very strong, thin, easy to carry, full sized blade with good steel. You shoulda' bought at least one. https://youtu.be/YZTO1jXWsb8 

But it now lives on in a more affordable version. It's a good looking, timeless knife design. The steel is not nearly as good BUT the rest of the elements are there in the Range Boss. Cardboard cutting tests shown, oh rejoice!

One of my favorite hard use folders. Had a broken skull that got lost a few years back sad day. But the range boss is definitely a work horse.

Bought a Broken Skull in orange back in the day. Love it, still got it. One of my favorites. Glad to see they are keeping that design around

Always loved the Range Boss & Broken Skull! I was always under the impression that they both excised at the same time. The Range Boss was just the value version.

The design of the Broken Skull came from the Lone Star Hunter (which was around long before Steve Austin was involved with Cold Steel). Cold Steel just put his name on the Broken Skull for marketing (although, he may have had some input). Having said all that, the Broken Skull was an awesome knife. And I was stoopid to trade it. Knife regrets.

The Spyderco Stretch XL would be an interesting competitive option to this. Albeit, a different price bracket (would be pretty hard to beat the Range Boss as a BOK knife for the price). But so happy to see Spyderco going back to no liners on some of their bigger blades.

We don’t use our knives, Nutn, because YOU encourage us to use cool utility blades like the Sheffield, the Cold Steel Recon micro etc Come on now!😊 Love da knives, got 80% of your special editions, can’t wait for the XXL, and yeah, you have me hooked! I got so many friggin knives, that I could rotate them and use them for the next 10 years and they would still be sharp! Love ya, Bro!
