Welcome to a new series in TNP! "IISA" or Is It Still Awesome? This is where I will take a long-ago reviewed item, compare it to current alternatives, summarize POU and then answer that question. We'll start off with the Glock 26! Several donors have asked the question to me on this gun, previously reviewed here in 2008 https://youtu.be/lNB2EXzvZrM

These will be in field shooting exercises with some surprises. In this session, you'll see a couple of competitive options show up. I'll discuss combat close range handgun practice and if it makes sense to practice at longer ranges. I'll also remind you that spending a few bucks on better sights and some trigger mods, below, will help your Glock shooting a lot 25 yds and beyond. It does me!

The best days of TNP are yet to come.

Whoo, great idea!! Old optic reviews, systems, first aid kits…things you’ve used for decades now and have more data on! Bravo

Joshua Pulliam

Yes! I love this idea Nutn! I’ve been rocking my G-26 the last few days. I’m going to be getting a Kusiak for it I think. The Kusiak for my LCP-2 is the nicest and most comfortable holster I have owned.

Joseph

Great video Nutnfancy! Bringing back the classics? Got my cereal and milk before bed and checking this out

The Nutnfancy Project

Indeed! Also it will be fun to your guys' experiences with these items. Each IISA will be a catalog of TNP information!

JARMYSTRONG

I like this concept. Will be interesting to see how nostalgia factors in.

Zambini

Love this idea Nutn!! Can’t wait to see the other appearances this will bring out.

Jack Farmer

I bought a Walther PPQ Sub Compact when it first came out and love it. Still carry it today in a Tier 1 Concealment holster with its 15 round extended magazine. Is it as small as my Glock 43 or the dog p365? Hell no but I can’t shoot those guns nearly as well being 6’7” and having massive hands…. I need some girth and thickness. People need to relax on 1/4” thickness. Your wife can’t tell the difference and neither can a stranger on what’s in your waist line. Carry the gun that you can proficiently shoot. P.S. I couldn’t tell you the last time I carried my Glock 43… hate that gun.

Hold Fast Joe

Cool idea. I had an lc9s couldn't hit with it, didn't have the time to train myself up to competency and sold it. G19 works for me, I can hit shotgun clays at 25 feet (oops, not yards) with my limited time to practice. Rather carry larger piece I can handle than what's convenient Never had a chance to try the 26, but I would like too

John K Stankiewicz

Glock 26 is a classic. Another by which all others are measured and a trend setter to boot.

Joseph

Love my G43. Size Medium hands. I’ve thought about a 43x in the past, but concealment and comfort is my primary reason for this gun. If I go up in size it’s my G19 gen 3 stock OEM

Jayson Fraser

Love the concept. I’m looking forward to more “IISA” videos!

Redshirt

This is a great video concept! I imagine you feel the same way about the reliability and POU of many items in your older videos, but technology and competition has made these decisions much tougher. A decade ago the Shield and Glock 26 was the go-to, but now I think it'd be ridiculous to choose either of those compared to the P365 or Hellcat. The Glock 26 is reliable and legendary, but why would you choose it when you can get more rounds in a smaller package with the P365? I would never unless I was already carrying a G17 or G19 and REALLY thought I may need to be able to use the larger mags. In 2022 the technology has progressed and the options are plentiful, what a time to be alive.

James Lawson

Me and my 2 sons were just talking about buying a glock 26!! Now we definitely are!! Thanks for the video

EthanRX

Nutn this is a great idea!!! Love it.

Jacob Hurst

I am in love with my 26. I have other carry guns but I just always come back to it. I’ve put tons of rounds through mine never had an issue and with my budget honestly never had the need to get a “micro compact” the 26 is for me 😍

Todd Strelka

Always new ideas flowing in TNP. I love it. Can't wait to watch this.

Joshua Pulliam

I’ve definitely been wondering the last few years if I should “upgrade” to a Hellcat or P365. But after watching this I’m not so sure. I shoot my 26 better than any of my other handguns.

Thomas M Morse

You asked if doing shots at 35 yards was realistic. That guy who stopped the Indiana Mall Shooter did 10 shots, 8 on target, at 40 yards in under 15 seconds. It's now named after him, the Dicken Drill. So yeah, it's realistic.

Cody Harring

Love the new series idea! Keep the videos rolling, we appreciate you Nutn!

Michael Roe

My Glock 26 (4 months old) was stolen out of my truck last week through a compendium of cluster fucks. Was looking at replacing with a PSA Daggar, but since I have a G19 thinking now will replace with a NEW G26.

Patrick Richards

I love my 26. Funny that this was posted today. I just dusted off my 26 and was thinking about carrying it over my 43. I shoot it better/easier over the new small and thin carry guns. And it has that ultra reliable Glock reliability that is hard to beat. If I actually had to shoot someone or was in an active shooter situation, I’d rather have my 26 vs a 365 or something. Just my thought.

Andrew Baldwin

Love this series already! I've been carrying the same S&W 638 and Ruger LCP (Both previously reviewed) for a while and they're still awesome for me! Looking forward to seeing those validated (or invalidated) in the future

Xen

You got it: mag compatibility. And maybe cost. I bet you can buy 2 or 3 used Glock 26 for the price of a P365.

Scott Nelson

I have a 26 and bought it going on a year ago as a "from me to me" Christmas present. Needless to say I absolutely love it. I ended up getting the Galco Classic Lite as well as a shoulder rig since I knew I was about to go on a long road trip with my, at the time, girlfriend (she's still around - just now my wife!). I put these two items into a system for long road trips. Normally I carry a Glock 19 (and yes, before anyone asks, it came with) but wanted something that could stay on me at all times during the driving portion. Also, funny that you mention the Walker ear muffs - just got a pair last week and ordered a pair for the wife that are teal in color. Now shes somewhat excited to hit up the range! I just want her to be safe, especially with everything going on in the world right now (especially here in IL). Like always, thanks for the review Nutn - you're a good and bad influence for us all!

A

What Generation are you using in the video?

Riley Kaye

Love this new series! What a great idea!

Dawson Rabb

Never stale, always fresh!!!!

David R Benkendorf

Just recently purchased my first ever Glock, a G27. I was never a big fan of them, so why? Minimalism and keeping things simple. Tired of chasing the next new thing every couple of years and decided to quit. I'm issued a G22 and wanted to carry a BUG where everything works the same, same caliber, will take the same mags. I carry it as my EDC too. I can carry small or throw in G23 or G22 mags and size it up. I can't downsize a G22 or G23. It is just super versatile and gives me options. Sort of a do everything pistol. And it's a Gen 5 so it's ambi since I'm a southpaw. I don't mind the extra thickness and weight because that feels and shoots better. Heck, I carried my 92FS for quite a while. Yeah, the 26/27 platform is definitely still awesome and I actually really dig it. Something I never thought I'd say about a Glock. You do have to watch it with holsters because the Gen 5 slides on the 27s are wider than previous gens.

Andrew Mullins

Thanks for the video. Love updated videos of previously reviewed guns!

Plumber Angelo

Absolutely love it! Haven’t watched the video yet but I have a p80 build of the Glock 26 and I’m super happy. Watching the video now!

Jordan Side Quest

I picked the shield plus up for $325 — & I think it’s got the 26 / 365 beat

Paul Griech

Dude’s i rock a g19 for the cold months in pa and a g26 for the warmer months in pa the reason i love the g26 is it’s light it carry’s many rounds and the g19 mags can be used with it! The G26 was awesome twelve years ago and all these new gun manufacturers have modeled everything around that g26

Scott Dunn

Love the video idea. Will watch tomorrow. Just was shooting my old G26 last week with a 30 rd mag, then used the same mag in my sub2000. Having those 2 guns with one set of G19 mags allows for lots of capability that you can throw into a small pack.

Dalton

Great vid Nutn! Thanks. I like pizza 🍕 & Chocolate 🍫 too man 🤙😎

Eric Lindsay

I built a P80SC and love that little gun. I like being able to shove a larger mag in the gun. My primary carry was a G19 Gen5 for a couple of years. Lately I have been carrying a 365X Roland special; great little gun with 14 +1 capacity.

Dione Kollee

Is it still awesome! What a brilliant idea of highlighting the oldies but goodies. Loved how you compared the 26 to a few newer competitive options. In your defense regarding the 48, I had trijicon HD’s installed on it & it took me a a lot of time & the range to get accurate hits. Like you touched on in this vid, different sights all have slightly different outcomes. I have a friendly idea/suggestion. Would you be up to comparing say a SIG p238 & proving its awesomeness in comparison to some of the newer .380’s? Ps, I’ve been carrying a fanny for the past 6 & never leave home without it. I get teased for it & then a friend of mine will loose their wallet lol. Dorky looking or not I carry my entire system in that bad boy. Wallet, flashlight, s&w revolver w/extra speed loader, tourniquet & small swiss army multi tool, a couple double & triple a batteries, 2 cr123 batteries. All inspired by you my friend. God bless!

John K Stankiewicz

In my mind it's the first micro 9. Keep up the good work Nutn.

Jamie Ayers

G26-great gun….and the mags fit across platforms. No brainer. Keep it if you have it. Get it if you don’t. Complete the collection with G17, G19, G34.

Bravo

I lott forward to this series… even if i have no time these days to watch tnp i am still hangin out over in the tnpp watching a few mins here snd there.

Daniel Gray Webb

Like the series. Stuff like this always makes me laugh, of course it's still awesome. I have a few old pieces and a few new ones and i carry most of them and the others are in systems. It's like people saying that 30-30 win is ineffective, 30-30 win has been getting the job done for a long time. Is it the most effective option probably not, but that doesn't mean it's any less than what it was.

Fiord dweller

Love the new series. Love the glock.

Powernoodle

Nutn's enthusiasm is what drives this whole show.

fishlanding

the baby glock is capable and no other pistol is capatible with all the glock magazines

David Gaines

I’ve been asking the same thing lately but I think it still is when you consider it’s compatibility with larger 19,17 and even the 33 round mags. You just can’t make up for that.

fishlanding

Mr Nutman..... try eating a carnivore diet to drop some weight and improve your health..... dang now I sound like a know it all.....

steve garrett

My g 26 is going no where. But it must be a gen 3. I dont like the newer guns both trigger and finish suck. I can shoot a g26 just as well as full size. Lately the sig 365 gets carried

Hector D

Great new series concept. Lots of options. Love my G26. Will never sell it (my first Glock). How about another fave comparison: Sig P938 versus the new mini 1911 formats, like a S&W CSX.

maxmfs

Great video! Love the concept behind it. I’m a big fan of my Gen4 G-26 with factory night sights. I run it with Pearce mag extensions, Surefire TLR-6, and Sheriff of Baghdad holster. Lots of capability in a small package.

Lynn E Fite, Col (r)

Help me nutn. Help me. Every year the rabbits on our homestead keep increasing. It seems my family has followed their lead.

Lynn E Fite, Col (r)

Help me nutn. Help me. The rabbits on our homestead keep increasing. It seems my Glock family has followed their lead. Guess I need to start growing

Downtrodden

My SIG system recently had a P80 thrown in for some Glock flavor. I still consider it a fun/educational gun. Glocks seem to be for guys who can’t leave anything stock. I don’t feel the urge to change the trigger, sights, or any controls on my Sigs. I did change a grip module so I’m not a purest. Mod on!

Rho

Two weeks ago. I was just thinking. Man a G26 would be nice. Now poof, this video.😎. I have a 43x. I was just thinking something a pinch bigger could be great. Great series idea.

Kinoons

14 years later I’m still carrying a Walther PPS. Why? Because it works and I don’t want to spend more money to replace something that isn’t broken. For me it’s still awesome.

Seeker Keyl

Love that compact double stacks are still getting some love. As a newer gun owner, I was blessed with many choices, and had the opportunity to try out a reasonable spectrum of carry pistols. Ultimately, my go-to carry is my FN 509 compact. The shape conceals well for me and the thickness difference compared to my 43x (which is also excellent, just not quite AS excellent for me) is not enough to matter that much. The deal with the 43x is the shape of the grip with the magazine generates a noticeable "point" from under my shirt (I carry appendix) that the more blended shape of the 509 does not, even with the 15rd mag installed. In summer, I can still carry the 509 with the 12rd mag and you just can't see it at all, even with just a regular t-shirt as a cover. The fact that it shoots so soft with such accuracy (40 yard shots are easily achievable with a red dot) is another plus over the 43x, which recoils a bit more in my hands. Love my 509.

Paul Tooley

I love the idea behind this series! I’d love to see the SU16 next.

DuginIN

Is a Glock 27 still awesome?

James Hood

Glock 26 still awesome? Of course it is. As a matter of fact, I was so certain that was the answer, I would’ve bet a pinky finger on it.

kylenor

Too funny to see this. I was going to buy a G26 the other day but the shop didn't have one so I ended up walking out of there with a different one on my list. A G43x. The 26 is still up next and now you've got me thinking of the 48.

Hugh Amlett

Great series idea, looking forward to more. Revisiting the M1A might be interesting considering the steep price and iffy QC from SA

shaun kelly

NUTNFANCY.Love this series so far. Can we get a gunnies update sometimes, maybe just go to the gun store and shoot the shit with some of the employees and customer

Kyle Harbaugh

Love this video. Very timely for me. G26 is a go to carry option for me, but was recently considering switching to something that was optics ready like a Sig 365 xmacro or Walther PDP.

Moe Mansour

The best part was when you stepped on that duck off screen 😆😆🦆

Moe Mansour

This is a fun series. Great idea! Could apply it to manufacturers or materials as well. Eg, is SOG still awesome? Or, is VG10 still awesome?

Jerome J

great video.

Galen C Cook

I love this idea for a series!

TNSheep

It's a glock, Define "awesome" haha. =)

William H

I’d love to know what maintenance you’ve done on the 26 now that my glocks are getting older too

The Nutnfancy Project

Both the P365 and PDP are also awesome. But they don't take anything away from the G26 being a smart choice STILL

MCatl

+1 on the comment about retarded friends. An EDC choice should be based on one's individual needs, not whatever trend winds are prevailing at the moment. I parked my Micro Nines after finding that the selection of holster was at least as important in comfort of carrying and ease of concealment as the gun itself and after several trips to the range proved to me that I can shoot larger weapons better, i.e. guns in the G26/G27 and XD Subcompact class. I also don't see the value in starting all over again with the expense of buying and trying holsters and spare magazines.

MCatl

And. yes. the G26 is awesome, but the G27 is awesomer ... and the XD Subcompact is more awesomer! ; p

David R Benkendorf

In addition to the G27, the Streamlight Microstream USB is still awesome. The Spyderco Endura 4 Wave is still awesome. The Leatherman Squirt PS4 is still awesome. Other things I carry that are awesome and haven't been reviewed: Coast DX126 utility knife, Outdoor Edge 3.5" RazorLite EDC/Onyx, and Flipside 4 wallet. And other than phone and smartwatch, that's my EDC loadout.

Tim Bone

Intelligent take on this class of "subcompact" pistol. In these violent times (which seem to be getting worse) a high-capacity CCW pistol that you can shoot as well as a full-size is more important than ever. In Chicago...a Glock 43 is simply "not enough gun". 😮

Stan White

The G26 is my EDC both open and concealed depending on the occasion. My other GTW pistol is a g17 obviously they go together perfectly and maby even carry them both 😏

rjw

Yes the Glock 26 is still awesome.

T Boy

I finally broke down and bought a fanny pack today. Not a glock fan but Nutn has finally talked me into a FP.

Jeremy Hicks

I watched this the other day and forgot to leave a comment. I love the idea of this new series. I look forward to more of these videos. I also still love the 26. I hope to see more IISA vids.

Henry

Awesome series idea. I dig it.

Cyborg009

Great video. I really enjoyed watching you own with the 26 and fail with its brother, showing that good sights are critical to longer range shooting.

Douglas Carr

A friend of mine just bought a brand new Glock 26. He was having buyer's remorse. I'm going to tell him about this video.

Roger Dixon

This is an awesome relook at a great pistol. I really like the idea behind this series. Please continue these looks back at some greats of your past reviews.

Matt

Great review. The 26 is a classic for sure. Unfortunately something went wrong with the sound at the 26:52 mark. There was some kind of "distortion"?

Racing Psychosis

Heinie straight 8's are still a favorite of mine, although for my carry I've gone to a U back sight, but still in the straight 8 night sight configuration.

Bluegill097

Late to the party sorry! Great vid I would’ve like to have seen some more competitive options though

Iowa Dave

Got to testify about the accuracy of the G26. I've been a volunteer RSO for GSSF for about 15 years...typically multiple matches per year. Plenty of G26 shooters are down zero points on the far target of the Five to Glock stage....25 yards.

BadgerTails

Glock fan boi and Armorer here, just grabbed a Gen4 G30 a couple of weeks ago to add to the G36 and G21 and the Glock.....the 30 also uses the happy sticks from the G21 .....YES! Glock is still awesome!! Pizza and chocolate rock too!

BadgerTails

Stopping the threat; MIL/LE for more than 2 decades now.

Aquanaut

When your budget is limited, it's more awesome to get a Taurus G3 and a Taurus G2C for about the same price. Any who, rock out with your Glock out, if that's your bag.

Mitch Ceiling

I daily carry my Gen 4 G26 and love it. It’s not without its flaws but I shoot it better than I shoot my other Glocks for some reason.

Cheesewell

Bro love my Gen 4 G26, I even have the Agrip on it, the G43 is rocking Agrip as well, good stuff. I feel the same way you do, I just shoot good with the G26, plain and simple. G26 is my all time favorite cold weather carry. Will never sell it.

Nicholas Saviano

For size and weight considerations, I’m going to buy the p365 series. But I certainly won’t sell a 26 if I have one

DCM

I’ve incorporated bits and pieces of TNP gear into my systems over the years with great success (and gratitude). The G26 and Galco Classic Light was probably the first “system” I just copied whole cloth from nutnfancy. I’ve experimented with different carry methods and guns, but this is the sweet spot for me for all of the stated reasons. Owe it to TNP. G26 = still awesome.

Matt P

17 might not be either in any of the big cities😉

Tim Talbot

I recently saw deputies of a rural SO carrying G26s on their duty belts.

Tim Bone

Right on! 👊🏼😂

Jason Burson

Still running g26 in galco classic lite but with 17 magazines- it will not change unless a psa dagger goes in the holster and the g26 finds its way into a kit that may require concealment. Love the is it still awesome concept. Single stack kahrs would defiantly be something that did not age well.

Jason Burson

I would not see it in the pou. They definitely are not expecting to use them

R J Firefly

I thought Nutn recommended a leather holster in one of his recent videos I can't remember the name of the company?

Joseph Brennan

Your review of the 26 was the first TNP video I ever watched and I bought one! Still have today

TheOldShepherd

Glock 26 is magical! Fullsize grip cannot be beat AND the slightly shorter barrel makes it more wieldable. It is nasty quick. Sounds silly but I swear it is true. I can outshoot anyone I know with mine.

TJ

I actually have 2 g26s. Its my favorite gun although I did get a 43x and that is quickly becoming it because of the thickness compared to the 26
