A highly regarded Swiss watch, even by watch snobs, the Glycine Airman GMT gets a Nutnfancy review! This orange one (link below) IS striking and has looks we have not seen here before. The Airman GMT has typical Glycine Swiss "qualit-D," an H30 auto movement, 2nd Cool time zone tracking, sapphire crystal, cool colorations & hands varieties, and a decent price for what you get.

I'll show another favorite Glycine watch as a competitive, and less expensive, option...it remains an all time fave. Also an Islander Aviator and Hamilton Khaki Field will also make a showing, both also highly rec'd for your hopefully always growing watch collection.

From elite TNP donor "small axe" on real world use of this watch:

"I have a Glycine Airman 42 GL0069 and I like it a lot for traveling. I bought it for a mission trip to Zambia a couple of years ago. I got mine for $379 no tax free shipping on a black Friday sale. I used the GMT hand for home time, the 12 hour handset for Zambia time, and the bezel for local time of my next layover when flying. I combined 2 colors of nail polish to color fill the bezel markings with a near perfect match with the dial color. Reading the dial that shares the GMT and 12 hour handset took a bit of getting used to, but with a little practice I could read home time and Zambia local at a glance. I could say the time at home faster than my companions with smart watches that took a couple of taps to display it. That may have been a result of their choice of display options, I don't know. Personally I liked the syringe hands. The slim tips are set up to run right out to the track they are meant to read. For me it made it easier to get an exact read than some other handsets that cover the track you're trying to read. The full lume dial is nice on long flights when the cabin of the aircraft is dark. With a keychain black light I could power up the lume without disturbing my seatmates. I love mine and will never part with it for sentimental reasons. It isn't what you'd call a daily driver, but it warms my heart to pop it on the wrist for a few days. It's my go to wherever I leave my home time zone. I live in Arizona, we don't do daylight savings time so I have trouble keeping up with the time difference even within the US. it's nice to set it and forget it for a whole trip. Could the job be done more efficiently by an electronic option? Probably. But I get great pleasure from the second cool of an automatic watch and it never has to get charged. For me 5 stars at the $379 I paid, probably 4 stars if it was over $600."

Nuntn', what's your thoughts on the Casio Pro Trek Smart watch? I think it's kinda like a Garmin. Would you ever review it?

Todd Strelka

The black and orange color is great.

The Nutnfancy Project

I'd like to review it. If you buy lmk know and I'll borrow it from you. From what I know the Casio smart watches are good but lack the capabilities of a real smart watch like Apple or Galaxy

Daniel Herb

That black and orange airman is great! Its a little outside my price range though. But since the combat vantage in blue is back I can grab that one up. Thanks for the review Nutn.

The Airman is one of my personal favorites for all the reasons you named. Affordable, but quality, with heritage and unique operation. Mine is based on the one worn to space by Captain (ret) Charles (Pete) Conrad on Gemini 5 & 11. The 24 hour version is great for tracking local and home time on overseas deployments if you're trying to call home at a good time.

rediius

Oh, and as a bonus you can wear it into a SCIF because it's a mechanical watch and therefore exempt from the rules against watches in the secure areas.

Moe Mansour

I'll see if I can get my hands on one. I think they're jdm.

The Nutnfancy Project

Yes its a gorgeous watch for sure. That blue Combat 6 Vintage is soooo cool; I've seen that color before. Great price on it below and it'll be gone like the drop ones were. Thanks Daniel.

The Nutnfancy Project

Excellent commentary Small Axe, loved it. It's great to hear someone with experience using these Airman GMT features. Also glad to hear you like the syringe hands; I'll represent that next time a do a WRV.

The Nutnfancy Project

Another Airman GMT owner checks in! I like it! Definitely a 2nd Cool piece and a looker...very happy to have got one for review.

William H

Bump that category up to 2k Nutn so you can review the Squale 1521

Alexander Fernandes

I have one that I haven't even used...bought on a whim.. its the WSD-F20ABU.. If you want to review it, let me know Nutn'

Moe Mansour

Alexander for the win 👍

Daniel Herb

I ordered the Blue Combat 6 Vintage! They even have a spring sale going on so I got 7% off as well which covers the tax and shipping costs. Super pumped

Shawn Kuse

I bought my first Luminox SeaTurtle last week. Not sure why, but I love the glow in the dark watches. Similar to some of my Deep Blue watches. Again, being a Nutn fan costs $$. To guns, knives, motorcycles, and watches! Thank you sir for your time and effort in all your vids!

BadgerTails

Love the Full Lume, but that Ashford condom selection is glorious! Drive on Capt!!!

Bluegill097

Heck yeah, practically feature length! I need to find a way to get another Glycine in my line-up, I'm sure I can fudge the budget numbers somewhere lol .

I mostly wear automatic watches. I am just fascinated by the mechanical nature of them. Over the years I have developed some distinct preferences. I find that the cheap Seiko movements like the 4R and 6R, NH35's etc, seem to run great at first then over a year or 2 of use these movement's don't keep time as well as I would like them to. I find the swiss sellitas and ETA's just run better for the long term. So for me I am not buying any of the cheaper seiko movements, The 8L movements are supposed to be way better but ththat a way more expensive watch. maybe I will just get an omega planet ocean and be done.

That’s a beautiful watch. Nice score fellas.

WRV! WRV! WRV! Woo hoo! Agree with others, you definitely need to bump up the cap. Think of all the sweet pieces you could review in the <$2K range.

hoplite ⚔️

I like that matte case blue dial version of the Squale. I think it has orange accents. 👌🏼

hoplite ⚔️

Interesting data. I didn’t know that about the movements.

hoplite ⚔️

What glycine do you have? That combat vintage looks sick. I just got the Airpilot Dual-time for a trip to Europe in the summer. The dual-time pusher isn’t working. Waiting to see how Ashford customer service is gonna handle it.

hoplite ⚔️

Love any WRV the Alpina Startimer is mentioned in. This Airman seems like a cool watch. Love that color dial. I just picked up the Glycine Airpilot on “clearance” at Ashford for $180. Pumped to rock it.

Bluegill097

I have a 36mm combat sub on a bracelet. It’s a more dressy watch but still pretty excellent. I agree the vintage combat looks like the way to go for my next one!

TNSheep

oh i like that...

After I sold my Omega Seamaster Professional GMT due to being uninsurable because of some of the countries I travel to, I picked up a Glycine Airman in 42mm. Mine's blacked out with the full lume moonface and I run it on an OD green nato strap. I love its vintage look with triple time zone tracking ability. I really want one that doesn't have a 12 hour hand at all--just the 24 hour hand. I thought about modding this one to have minute, seconds, and 24 hour hand only, but it cuts it down to 2 time zones instead of 3 (but I've nevrer needed three). I have direct reports working for me in 4 time zones, only one of which is outside North America, and that's the one I usually set the GMT to, so I can quickly double check time before phoning. I also have a Glycine combat sub GMT "Coffee edition", which was a limited collaboration between Drop and Glycine. Coke bezel with coffee colored markers to look vintage. I love it. Happy to loan either for review--also got a couple RESCOs which are pricey ($1200 - $2000), but overbuilt in the US with swiss quartz and auto movements. If you know anything about RESCO, you know a lot of what you're paying for is panache and limited availability. My Resco RTAC GMT is a 46mm-ish and discontinued. As a closer, I almost grabbed a combat 6 on eBay recently and may still. It's a classic looking watch. I did recently get a Swatch Big Bold Ocean after seeing that review--cool watch but I bumped it and now second hand sits about 2 seconds off when it's supposed to be at 12! Enjoyed the WRV of a watch I have!

Order in fr the GL0457, code SPRING7 knocked it down to 274 delivered!? Drive on TnP!

BadgerTails

Saweet! Just post a pic of your collection into the Community section, sounds awesome!

Han So Oh

I picked up a Glycine combat and Airman, was not disappointed. Please review some Egard watches next!

hoplite ⚔️

Fun new category. You’ve got me on a Glycine Airpilot, Mondaine white case, and going to be picking up a Swatch BB soon. Thanks for bringing the watch fun.
