Been working hard for you guys...here's a quick peek of what's coming up. I did a first for TNP: two remote locations, separate crew working with the gun. You'll see Sean the TNPr in action here too. The SFAR is recommended.

Typo: should say SFAR of course but I think I like SFAT better..ha ha

Add: note at Sean's location nearby shooters' shots were whizzing overhead near him and his daughter. In the raw footage there are so many shooters at his location is sounds like a war.  I'll talk to this in the review some: This is one of many reasons why most of TNP shooting is done on private land now.

Ruger SFAR Preview!

Comments

Ian

Thanks for the hard work!

Justin Wingerter

Cant wait, I've heard mixed reviews about reliability, let's see what the desert has to say! Keep up the good work nutn

Matthew Sinn

lol "SFAT" ... foreshadowing perhaps?

Todd Strelka

Nice! Your hard work is always appreciated.

Elijah Ballard

When Ruger first released the SFAR I almost bought. But you say all the time “WAIT FOR THE REVIEW!”

Aceman1126

Nice! Should be a solid contender for SAPR of the year if it runs reliably. Heard mixed reviews on the early guns but its ruger... they'll get it sorted out and it WILL be a work horse when its ironed out. Excited for this one! I'd love to loan you my tavor 7 but I'm too far away and you'd HATE the weight but damn is it nice to have such a compact heavy hitter even if shes a hefty bitch lol

The Nutnfancy Project

It goes out again tomm, couple of jams but nothing alarming I've seen, Sean had a hard jam

kawicheater

Yes! Been looking forward to see how this fares a nutngauntlet. Been Waiting on the purchase until after the review

Justin Wingerter

It cant be as heavy as that damn .50 BMG, now that's a big bitch

Elijah Ballard

Doodle needs to hop on and defend himself 😂

Andrew Stutzman

Thanks for the continued work Nutn, hope you guys get the motos out lots this year too!

TeaL

Going to be honest. I didn't notice this is only a preview and ended after just two minutes. I was like,"WTF! What happened? This isn't the way the colonel does things!"

Aceman1126

But the hefty ones have so much to lose they really aim to please 🤣

The Nutnfancy Project

You bet Quentin, one more outing tomm and then I review it, should post here soon.

The Nutnfancy Project

Ha ha, yeah it's rare for sure but I like giving you guys insight on whats upcoming. I'll do it more.

The Nutnfancy Project

I wish I could. Gun testing is so time consuming I can't ride much when I do it (unless on KTMs to a desert location, but it's not on pvt land). I do ride every week but nothing epic this spring. I'll fit some more in for sure though. Thanks Andrew.

Dalton

So excited for this! Love the 308 stuff so much. Thx Nutn! I hope all is well with you and the family 🤙😎🐾

Robert Fowler

AHHHHHHHHHHH for the want if more caliber options. .243 Winchester please.

Todd

Love the Quarterflash! I had to pause the video to make sure it wasn’t playing from my iTunes library.

Andrew Koch

So psyched for this!!!! As someone who already has an AR-10 the SFAR is so interesting! I assembled my AR-10 starting with an Aero Precision M5 lower and upper receiver set. I tried to make weight conscious decisions throughout the entire project but the rifle alone still came out to 8 lbs. I could have gone with a shorter lighter profile barrel and shaved a few ounces off with the handguard but that's about it. The rifle is still a reliable tack driver but once you throw a scope on it it gets closer to 9lbs. Not great for carrying in the woods. The SFAR appears to be a short cut to having to build a lightweight AR-10 without the sacrifice of having a pencil barrel. This could be an awesome whitetail or pig slayer! Very excited! Go Nutn Go!!!!

James Young

I can't wait for this one. The SFAR seems like the gun Nutn would design

Jordan Parker

Looking forward to the review, the size and weight of this one have me excited. Thanks Nutn!

JohnyMac

Looking forward to this review. Reasonable weight, nice that Ruger sells the rifle with bits and pieces I have to add to other rifles, e.g. M&P-10, and a nice price. Interesting to see about accuracy is . some other rifles in this class. With and without a can. Thanks for doing this review.

Downtrodden

I happen to be in the market for my first 308 when the SFAR hit stores. The weight and the price was right! I only ran a couple mags through it with no issues. My iron sights were crap so I’m putting some glass on it and stocking up on ammo to get it out of Safe Queen status. I’m on the fence between a Primary Arms 3x prism to keep it light, or a LPVO. I’ll wait on Nutn’s accuracy assessment and keep squirreling away 308.

Downtrodden

His PSA10 is pretty sick and I suspect it’s more accurate than the Ruger. I’m sure it’ll make an appearance in the review.

Rod Davis

I guess I'm good as far as AR 10s. I have 2 MP 10s, an 18in and a 16in barrel all set up with free float rails, triggers, sights and stocks. Dont really need 2 but the 16in was only 800.00 and I couldn't pass it up. Awesome rifles.

BadgerTails

Yes, it's a tough row to hoe: I grabbed an ArmaLite AR-10T some years ago when I still had their LE discount available; a 25 rd mag loaded weighs 5 pounds itself! What ammo does your M5 prefer?

BadgerTails

So, I have an AR-10T and a ton of MIL SURP x51 ammo.. Is this an honest option, sell the (Doodle's GF 4H heavy beast) ArmaLite klydesdale?

Andrettski

Portland's Quarterflash is like a massively mellowed out Pat Benatar. I.E. saxophone playing.

Andrettski

Did Ruger just come up with new a firearm w/o copycatting someone else?

Andrew Koch

I agree. It was a wakeup call on how heavy fully loaded AR-10 mags are compared to AR-15 mags! Most of my shooting has been with Winchester White Box 147 grain 7.62x51. I have also shot some Freedom Munitions Remanufactured 147 .308 and 150 grain .308 Hornady American Whitetail through it which both ran very smoothly. I have a JP Enterprises adjustable gas block on the rifle. The rifle will not cycle unless the adjustable gas block is all the way open. I picked up some cheap Russian steel case .308 recently, I have yet to see if it functions.

OutlawGRUNT

I was just thinking the other day how I wished this would get a review!

Blizzak454

Can't wait! It's next up on my list, but have to admit I have a bit of worry as there have been some bad reliability reports. BTW I'm thinking on getting the longer barrel version. .308 in 16" seems dumb to me 😄 🤣

Blizzak454

This I have to know about. I live just up the road from PSA here in SC. Honestly it's between the SFAR and PSA for me.

Bernal

Tripod working overtime! Did you ditch the tabletop Caldwell?

Bluegill097

Is there an echo here?? I can’t wait !! Lol

Chad

Copied pof concept I guess.

Chad

.308, light, cheap. Gotta be a catch.

Dustin

Can’t wait for the review. Thanks for the hard work!!!

Rob Miller

Sweet! This will be a good one.

Maxreverse

Thanks in advance for this review.

Jammerjim

Awesome. I just got mine. Can't wait to break it in!

Steve Lisowe

I like my AR-10, but maybe the SFAR is worth a look, too

Steve Feeser

I’m digging Pat Benatar!!! Long time no hear. The rifle was good too.
