Having ridden this KTM 690 Enduro R for almost 10 years in the Project, it's time for an update. And this one will be fun. I'll start out with a short walk around covering features, problems, and updates in the new 690s. Then we'll go for a rocky ride on "Wild Turkey" trail. We'll stop for a water break and to check out my cool Tissot Sea Star watch along the way. The audio's perfect and I finally got this system down to record the happenings. Another by request motorcycle video in TNP

FIRST! My 2004 950 ADV is a beast of this sorta beauty! Drive on!

These are the videos that excite me the most. I just totaled my R1200Gs . Something flew in my rear wheel while cruising about 50 mph. I was able to wabble to a stop without laying it down, But it tore the rear wheel and final drive up.. I was very lucky and God was definitely on my side that day.

Mainly a street rider with my 2022 BMW K1600GT. Going off road does look fun though. I can image the extra off-road gear you have to obtain!

BadgerTails

BTW- yes, CJ lives just a 45 minute ride from us, attended his weekend Tech campout where he showed us how to do valve adjusts, skipped a cousin's wedding for that!?

Justin Wingerter

Looks like a sweet video! Nutn, I expect to see you hitting some massive dirt ramps on this dirtbike 😂

Mark Horan

Still waiting for the CRF 300 Rally Review. Mainly your philosophy of use, since you are a very experienced rider using a basic motorcycle.

David and Elizabeth

Like everything else in life, everything is a compromise in the dual sport world. Great bike, overall. 👍👏

Damn, I literally just sold my 2017 KTM 690 enduro 2wks ago Nutn. I had it for this would have been my 3rd summer, I just haven’t had the time to ride it as much as as I wanted, not even enough time to get my license. Was just eating money n I’m trying to save for a house so every little bit counts lol. I’ll just enjoy my Wolverine X2… freaking sweet machine! Love the content as always Nutn!!!

Please be careful I had to watch my friend pass away right in front of me on Saturday due to a motorcycle crash in a remote area. The factors to the crash were all discussed in past motorcycle tnp vids. And rang true there as well. Mainly riding in a group. I pm’s you the story nutn. My tenere 700 is sadly going to be sold. A truly amazing bike.

Younggun995

Love the bike, id like to see the 300 vid.

BadgerTails

It's been a bit of a PITA learning curve, being more Euro/Carb oriented with the Remus CF pipes, and now it needs a new fuel pump.....but: it's a 950 twin that runs/feels like an 800 thumper if that makes sense to you guys. Drive on!

Charles New

Love the moto content, i tend to buy cheap bikes and mod them so they don't suck, my way is more expensive. Always better to just buy the right bike to start of with and cheaper in the ln the long run especially if you factor in your time.

Zack Harris

Nice trail, love to see the hood river vids sometime…. thanks for bringing along for the adventures!

When watching videos like this, I really do regret living in the super flat part of the prairies. I wish I could go back to where hills exits. I have to drive an hour east to get a 20m elevation increase.

The Nutnfancy Project

Heavy stuff Steve, so sorry to hear that. I responded to your PM. I do put out these many moto safety videos to help prevent these things but alas most will never see or apply them.

The Nutnfancy Project

Indeed. Probably best to get something squared away from the start I've also learned! Your time is money, I like you how you noted that. But if you're willing to spend the time and money you will have a much better machine. I know of some "impressive" KLRs for instance.

WILLIAM MEYER

Yes to more moto content Nut'n, even if your have to overdub bad audio. Hell, just use the bad audio I can mute it. Love to watch the your rides!

Jordan Parker

Feature length moto adventures, love it! I'd enjoy seeing more of the Hood River footage, even if the audio isn't great. Thanks, Nutn!

Steve Feeser

I love the motorcycle content!!!!! Please keep it coming! I don’t ride diet much. A few dirt roads. I’d really like a Honda 300 dual sport. If it’s not to tall for my 29 inch inseam. Right now I’m on a 1982 Kawasaki 305 cruiser with no funds for anything else. I want to do some camping this fall when it cools off a bit. Take care.

The Nutnfancy Project

Great comment and input DAC, thank you! I did not your preferences and donors get whatever they want...as much as I can!

The Nutnfancy Project

Hello Steve Feeser, thanks for the input and I think the moto content here will be like the watch content: sprinkled in here and there for you enthusiastic dudes. I will move that review of the Honda 300 up in the flow. And wow, riding a 1982 cruiser, good job!

Micah G

Thanks Nutn! More Hood River! moto adventures are outstanding.

TRJ

Love the dirt riding content, keep it coming! And please post the hood river footage. Just picked up a new left over 2022 KTM 500 in April.

Steve Feeser

Me again. I liked this video. I split it up over two days. Thanks!!!!

Chris Marchi

I don’t ride but I do enjoy watching your bike videos. Also-Give us the narrated videos. Any wilderness is good.

I bought a 690 smc r last year and was so impressed I bought a 701 enduro this year and set it up as a dirt focused adv bike. I’ve only got a couple good days on it but I’m happy. I do feel I like I’m going to drop one tooth on the front. First is pretty low but I’m in-between 1 and 2 on harder stuff a lot. I’m going to put a few more days on it before I decide.

Downtrodden

I consider gearing changes quite a bit with my G650XCh. On the really rocky trails I find myself in 1st too much and my radiator fan lets me know what’s cooking. So I’ll get into second and find that I’m going faster than I naturally want to go. But the bike likes that speed and it’s so much smoother getting through the rocks. A full day of that and my confidence goes way up but after a long break, I will still pucker up! The stock gearing tops out just over 100 on the highway. Not bad for an old thumper mule.

Downtrodden

I preach to my boys that it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. The 690 has a lot more HP on paper than my BMW X Challenge (niche bike I wouldn’t really recommend) but I don’t lack for power. I like the versatility of a “650” but even my old XR650R was a handful offroad. “650’s” are the most capable mules of the adv world but not not the best for either offroad or onroad.

Elieen Right

would love to see the Hood River OR content, close to me.

Chris Fischer

Here in KY we have a trail system just over 1k miles called the Kentucy adventure tour. It's pretty awesome.

david rockwell

The inspirational vistas and interesting narrative made for an enjoyable viewing event. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

KTM is worth the $$ vs. the Jap bikes, and I grew up on Jap bikes, My 1995 KTM 300 EXC (2 stroke) was the best. Street legal kit added a little wt but blowing the cops minds was worth it! I’m more about Raped Ape pwr/wt ratio, probably more like your bud Shane, so you’re in another league, gear/wt wise. The 500 would probably be a better contemporary match for me. That 590 sure seems to exhibit serious low-end grunt though, although the air box mod audio probably exaggerates it. Steering damper is essential, esp when running 20 psi in the front over rocky scree, but I get why so high. Moon dust is like hydroplaning-hate it. Love the throwback plastic body armor! Keep this content coming!

Kyle weyerbacher

Great video nutn! I’ve had to regear my 1090R. Front and rear sprockets. It still should go lower, but it’s a little squirrelly on the pavement when you get on it.

MT

Really enjoyed it Nutn. Thank you, Sir!!

Bbomz97

Love it NUTN! Keep the Moto videos coming! Would love to ride with you sometime. dirt or road!
