What Does $275 Buy? Tokarev TX3 Shotgun (Patreon)

We are at the Tropic Thunder testing site, testing the Tokarev TX3 Shotgun.  This pump shotgun is ultra affordable. Can really be any good?

It's made in Turkey, comes in this parkerized or maritime finish, and with an 1 rd extension holds 6 shots is the tube. I get right on to scratching it up apparently (sorry Wyatt) and put in into quick action.

What I find out may surprise you. Plenty of shooting, to include buckshot and slugs and always fun. Brought to you by TNP donors.

I haven’t gotten out to shoot my shotguns enough lately. I have that 7+1 mossberg 500. It’s been fantastic. No chokes though. I wanna say when I picked it up it was only $400 but that was probably 10-12 years ago. I’ve also got the black aces tactical semi auto. It’s also been great, but I’ve really only done a few heavy loads to break it in, followed by a couple hundred low brass rounds so take that with a grain of salt.

Our Mossberg 500 is our primary home gun right now. This TX3 would be a good companion at a better price. Also you are right about deformed rounds in the VR-60 mags it took a few weeks in a loaded mag to get the soft plastic case out of round enough that they dont feed but a side note is that a few see-through plastic end caps broke and some buck shot got loose in the mag and was a real headache even before chambering.

Totally rad! Unreal they are that cheap but I guess SXPs really aren't extremely pricey either. I'm in the market for a "tactical" pump gun. I still might go with an SXP due to track record and the fact they come in some really cool FDE/OD green colorations, which is second cool to me. Awesome video as always nutn! BTW, did you see that new plastic fantastic Springfield Echelon? I don't need another polymer 9mm but it looks like it could be a nice option for some.

I’ve been looking at a Mossberg retrograde and while I feel the finish is nicer on that gun, dang son, the Torkev got a lot a value for less. Thx for posting!

You will not be disappointed with a mossberg for sure. I bought one months before they came out with the wood stock retrograde. I kmwish I had waited for that to come out but I am very happy with what I got.

Wow, what a mess. Indeed with a magazine fed shotgun, only load the mags just before it goes into action. Tube fed are much better. I think you'll like my IISA episode coming up on the Mossberg 500 btw.

Where do you send the gun for warranty repair? Moskow or Istanbul? Mossburg covers even their cheapest shotgun, the Maverick with, a one year warranty. Ten years for a 500/590.

Nutn, Just picked up my Tokarev TX3 yesterday.Wow. Really impressed with the build quality. Wood to metal fit is great. Haven't had time to shoot it yet. Got it tricked out though w/ mag extension and side saddle.Will be getting a sling for it real soon.

These have been selling really well. They are dropping in price again (like all Turkish imports that flooded into the USA after the covid gun demand surg) its about $250 now. Gorgeous walnut stock (compatible with Mossberg 500 furniture) comes with 3 choke tubes which is a huge advantage over domestic shotguns that don’t have choke tube equipped brls and cost $100-200 more. I believe the rear GRS is plastic and kinda fragile. I’d Red locktite the picatinny mnt screws down. And mount a low profile red dot.
