TD and I test the last Microtech Amphibian RAM knife and I ended up hating it. This is a very different knife from my 2003 collectible tan cam Amphibian. It's heavy, has a much thicker blade, a sharp scaled G10 exterior, and features a "Ram Lock." Just about everything in this amazingly-sold-out knife failed to impress me and it is not rec'd at all.

Todd Strelka

Good morning. I'm looking forward to watch this.

Rob Miller

Todd!! (Beat Nutn to it)

Moe Mansour

Glad Microtech is making more manual knives. But I much prefer the formula on the manual kestrel, SOCOM, etc. A liner lock on an aluminum handle set is so much cooler. I'd love to see a LUDT done identical to the auto just as a liner lock.

Sajak

I can’t believe you hated it! That’s hilarious. Loved the review Nutn. Think I enjoyed it more than I would have a rave review. It’s a 2nd cool piece for me and even cooler now with the review. A lesson in how not to screw up a classic!

Moe Mansour

Hey, thanks for lending this to Nutn. Would be no review for us to enjoy without your generosity.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thank you for understanding Sajak! I really appreciate you sending it in and it's still a fun review. 2nd Cool is the hall pass as always too!

Rick Grad

I’m a Microtech nerd, have been for a long time. I totally agree with the generic look of the scales, not into it. They look and feel cheap.

I just picked one up this week as I missed out on the original and always wanted one. I want to like it so bad but I just can’t. It has a serious Hotspot and the cutting performance just isn’t there despite the edge being insanely sharp. Kind of a bummer

Lorenzo

I'm pretty sure Anthony is going to fire somebody after that review. Lol, it happens, the fired will cone back stronger. Hey, I want my Spydies signed, returned; please, thanks. Signed, returned! Signed, returned! Signed, returned! Do it! Do it! Do it!

Lorenzo

Love fron Colorado!

Nutn’s reviews make me want a manual Socom

Moe Mansour

They're still in stock on DLT

Carl Bailey

Cool of you to send it for review. I can see it as a 2nd cool piece for the collection. Especially if you are a MT guy. I have seen several knives like this in recent years that look great in the case, but feel like holding a beehive in the hand.

Michael Szymborski

I use to love the Axis style lock, now it’s on of my lease favorites. Tuning them is a pain, either it has great action and blade play or stiff action and no blade play.

Plumber Angelo

You’re awesome for sending the knife in!

Firearms Fuel&Fabrication

Wouldn't expect anything other than the brutal truth from you brother!! BTW. I'm still edc my tomato slicer!!

Gearhead

I enjoyed the review 😂 im going to head over to doodles page now and sub. Always fun watching you two

kylenor

Those SOCOMS are sick! Added to the wish list.

Chad Preston

Sorry I’m a Newbie. Is Nutn’s clubhouse just the comment section or is there another section of his page? I was interested in upcoming polls.

Tacticaldoodle

It's the patreon here, so you should see the next poll in the community area

I finally got a microtech socom elite after wanting one since you first reviewed it and introduced me to it like 10 years ago. The only thing I wish is that it had a tip up carry option. Other than that I love it.

Campfiretales

Great review, thanks for keeping it real. I’m surprised by how terrible the RAM lock performed. That is a serious design flaw for a $300+ knife that needs fixing.

Jesse (Sphinx)

I just recently got the Microtech MSI with polymer tri-grip scales (harkening to the tri-grip ultratech). US-made, wharncliffe/modified sheepsfoot with the ramlock and M390. Im super happy with it as a larger EDC/utility blade. Good slicer, bad stabber. Also only $177! Let me know if you want to review it and I'll send 'er in. I'll save you some time: has sharp edges on finger choil, shitty jimping, and would likely not baton well. Still good as an EDC though.
