- DG when Gojo arrives in Shibuya you say "this is going to be so much fun". And I don't think you've ever been so far from the truth. Unless you think the Eclipse in Berserk was "so much fun". - This is the only reference I've found that comes close to the Shibuya arc. This arc is absolutely incredible, the level of brutality, the despair, and the number of deaths reminds me of The Eclipse. - Damn DG you're brave, personally I'm a huge fan of Freddy, Jason, and Michael Myers, they're the most "cult" horror movie villains for me. And I would never in my life want to find myself face to face with them. But a swarm of Grasshoppers doesn't particularly freak me out. - Yes DG, Geto's plan is simple and you understood it well. He wants to seal Gojo because none of them can kill him. and the goal is to use Mahito, Jogo and Hanami to tire him out long enough to be able to seal him. he doesn't care if Mahito's gang will die or not. - and as we understood quite early in the season thanks to a flashback, Gojo is not the type to be a virtuous hero who will save everyone. he is progmatic and realistic, he knows that he cannot save everyone and so he accepts that several people die if that can allow him to stop Geto and his gang. he tells himself that he will probably sacrifice dozens of people to save thousands. we guess it quickly and in the episode Mahito understands it very quickly too. - that's why for me the revelation is stronger if we watch the movie Zero before the first season. because when we saw Geto in the first season with this huge scar on his forehead we wonder where it comes from. When we watch the first season before the film, seeing Geto with a scar on his forehead doesn't intrigue us, we don't ask ourselves the question, we tell ourselves that it's part of the character's design. The revelation in this episode is crazy because we only learn that in reality something is happening to Geto and therefore that he is dead. Probably after his fight with Yuto Okkotsu.

- That fight against Mahito is freaky af. Very cool. But freaky. - Yo is that an Evangelion reference? - You fought well, Mechamaru. - „The wide shot of the streets look like the scenes where the meteor drops in Alice in Borderland“ yes, of course. It's the same place. Shibuya Crossing. - Question about Mei Mei's hairstyle: How tf does she see anything with all of that in front of her eyes at all times? - Ok I get it, you're a very clever cursed spirit. - You know how people call a muscular biceps „guns“? Itadori is taking that a bit more literal with his machine gun punches. - The lack of a reaction Gojo has to volcano head and Hanami killing all these people kinda worries me. - What the actual fuck is happening. - Holy shit, he just fucking annihilated Hanami on the molecular level - Gojo would actually make for the most terrifying villain imaginable if he ever went evil. - Like, it's really freaking me out how quiet and serious his demeanor is, compared to the Gojo we usually see. - Yeah this is a complete massacre. - All of that. In 0.2 seconds. - Geto is not even Geto anymore??? It's a goddamn skinwalker? - So I'm guessing Geto actually did die at the end of the movie and that's where that brain dude swooped in?

This comment is super old so probably there’s no point in replying but I couldn’t resist to share my pov. For me the shock is big no matter the order you watch the movie for different reasons. You explained the reason why you’re shocked when watching the movie first but I actually prefer watching the movie after s1, it was way more surprising to me. As you said we thought of the stitches on Geto’s forehead as part of the character’s design but then we get surprised when we see him without the scars in the movie, we wonder how he got those and all that, finally everyone just assumes he injured himself afterwards and that’s why he has them. Later, when watching s2 you still think he’s alive only to find out why he has those stitches and that’s he’s been dead the whole time, it kinda changes your whole perspective of what you saw in s1. So that’s why no matter the order you’ll be shocked, just for different reasons. Also, you see Geto as a villain from the very beginning if you watch s1 first so his character is way more interesting during the movie if you already know him from before. It’s like getting to know a bit more abt one of the main villains we’ve been seeing.
