This is going to be such a fun ride! There are a few cameos here btw that you wont recognize since you havent watched Reply 1988 yet, both shows have the same legendary writer (the one that bickered with Youngji on Earth Arcade because she never watched any of her famous shows lol)

By the way, the actress who plays Chae Song Hwa (the one who sings terribly) is a musical actress :D and the actors really learned to play instruments. Regarding the last scene, he was Chae Song Hwa boyfriend and he was cheating on her, and Kim Jun Wan (her friend) saw them.

Finally!!! I'm so glad you are starting your journey with Hospital Playlist T.T It's still one of my favs and it was huge hit in S. Korea too. It was also heavily praised by real doctors of how acurate this series was, from learning all hospital ,,slang", to moves and actions, whole hospital enviroment, hierarchy and etc. Cast actually went to hospitals, observed how differents departaments/wards? works. It's gonna be increadible time! Some info: Funny thing that Song Hwa's actor Mido is an actual musical actor, so it's funny how she is acting like she can't sing. Cast learned instruments for their roles. Director of this kdrama has Youtube channel where it has all behind scenes and hours of footage how cast werw practising and learning songs, it's really cool to see how they progressed. All OST and songs they performed also topped charts! About Daddy long legs thing - its more cultural thing, in S. Korea they call that an older man who is caring, helpful, generous towards other from shadows, like Jeong Won, who, until VIP wards money, used all of his to help people pay for surgeries. It's gonna be fun, emotional, cool, frustrating, touching, lovely trip going through both seasons! I'm glad I can relive it with you!

Btw, the actor who plays Junwan, Kyungho, was in a relationship with Sooyoung from SNSD for 14 years but they broke up a few months ago.

I'm definitely intrigued. Lots of amazing actors just in this first episode that I've seen in many a Kdrama.

I watched this drama years ago, and I'm still feeling bittersweet..as someone who used to work in a hospital setting some years ago, watching this drama is like reminiscing those feelings, the stress, the pressures.. for me it's not merely watching a drama, cuz I can almost feel what they're feeling, think what they're thinking.. it's like I'm with them in those situations although I'm just watching from my screen lol..one thing that I love about HP is, unlike other medical dramas, the emphasis is about life and people..I hate that it's so realistic (I love it so much..) and from experience, losing a toddler, who could speak and call our names, whom we can watch him/her walking and running around, is much more heartbreaking than losing an infant or a baby..and I've been in Jeong Won's shoes before so I can totally relate to him.. 🥲 it's a great drama though..new subscriber here 🙋🏻‍♀️

my favorite k dramaaaaa

One of the reasons Hospital Playlist was such a hit, especially locally in Korea, was that so many doctors found it very accurate and well-researched. I remember a Korean doctor couple reacting to HP when it came out. They'd break down the scenes and would talk about their similar experiences.

Mate, I got here in a time when you would watch ONE show at a time, with one episode per week. Now you're watching multiple shows at once and basically apologizing that you're not doing multiple episodes for one of them. Shit's escalated a bit I'd say 😂 I have seen my fair share of German medical dramas and they're fine. Decent. Nothing too special. Good background noise, I suppose. German TV in general is just not that interesting (with one DARK exception) So yeah, I mostly associate medical dramas with something I'd half-watch whilst having dinner at my grandparents'. Let's see if this one can capture me. - Tf kinda amateur electrician is that - I have no idea what the health insurance situation is like in Korea but I kinda assumed that having to decide whether to go into crippling debt or just straight up die was purely an American thing 😬 - What the hell is a „Daddy-Long-Legs-Program“? - We're barely into episode 1 and I can already tell you, I could never work in a hospital. That type of work environment (and responsibility) is just way too stressful for me. - That is one intensely religious family 😅 - In terms of the actors' ages, the eldest son would only be 12 years younger than the mother - I've seen what radiation and chemotherapy can do to a person. It's not pretty. Especially in an advanced age like hers. - Damn dude, did you, like, piss off a nurse in a major way in your previous life? - Getting surgery from Darth Vader, yeah sure. - You may have realised it already, me being two months late to this, but the unlucky mother was also in The East Palace. - The fact that Min-yeong's mother thanked him like this almost hurts more than it would have if she had yelled at him... - Since there is that confession scene: this is why I'm an atheist. I just find it very hard to believe in an omnipotent benevolent god when there are still children that young suffering and dying from illness. If a god exists, then he's either not all-powerful, or he's just evil. This seems really good. Already got me more invested than any of the German medical dramas I've seen.
