What sets Babymonster apart is they sing live with very minimal backtrack. You could actually hear the shaking and breathing going on in their mics. Only few groups do that. Should be the standard, Tired of the fake performances in kpop. These artists need to work on their craft and be able to perform live and not just mumble and dance. But oh well that is why i support groups like Babymonster so much. :}

What you said about the high notes with Baemon is very true - I've read a few comments really giving the girls their flowers for this. Performing not just for the broadcast, but the crowd. A lot of Knetz said Baemon (along with SKZ/Ateez) were by far the best live performers. Its cool to see that they got the most time out of all the girlgroups, really proving that article right that came out a few months ago, that basically said they and SKZ are basically the main attractions at this show. No performance in the whole show was what I'd call bad - but I think with them, especially compared to the other 5th gen groups, you can see how much concert/live experience they have. Also funny how a lot of people dug out Babymonsters performance of As if its your last after Gayo. Thanks for reacting to the whole show. You also gonna do the huge show that is TIMA in 2 weeks? Haha

So I have not actually watched any of these myself yet, since SBS hasn't uploaded them. And no word about when or IF they're gonna upload them. I did find an unofficial livestream while the show was happening but I was on a train at the time (riding home after Escalation Fest with Heavysaurus, The Hardkiss, Alestorm, The Rasmus, Paleface Swiss and Electric Callboy) and our mobile network is so ungodly terrible in the rural areas of Germany that this train rode through that I was not able to watch even a single minute of that stream 😅 So this is my first time seeing these. Opening Covers - Now whenever I see boy groups covering girl group songs, all I can think of is Ian of Hearts2Hearts and her parody of how male idols dance to gg songs: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qf-ST9X0-Io - And2ble doing Hot Summer by f(x)! Which itself is a cover of Hot Summer by German girl group Monrose. One of the big songs of my childhood. - It's a song that fits the SM style well but it's not originally from SM. - Makes sense that KickFlip would cover their seniors. - Yeah, Twice are taking a MUCH needed break now. That last tour was so intense and so long. - Very cute way to start the show. - Enhypen is currently on tour and had their own concert in Busan on the same day as this, that's why they're not here. And also, I'm sure they're trying to keep Enhypen and Evan separate as much as they can right now. I don't know how much you've seen but the fandom is fucking insufferable right now, and having both appear at the same event would only add fuel to the fire. - Well, NCT Wish is here. WayV just had a comeback and NCT 127 are having theirs soon. Baby DONT Cry - Nope, not a cover. This is Bittersweet, their latest comeback. - This is a group from P Nation, Psy's label. Their debut was produced by Jeon Soyeon but imo their best song is I DONT CARE, their first comeback. Insanely good track! - I can only recommend getting into Baby DONT Cry. They're still pretty new, with 5 MVs so far: 1. Bet You'll Regret It 2. F Girl 3. I DONT CARE 4. Shapeshifter 5. Bittersweet - I did check and there's only 6 performances you'd normally skip. Out of, what, 34? - Ohh yes, Heart of Woman is amazing! You'd love them. They debuted with a full studio album and it really looks like they're dropping MVs and performances for every single song on that thing. IDID - A new boy group from Starship. I wanted to say 'newest' but they literally just debuted yet another one, called AEN 😅 - You previously watched IDID's collab stage with KickFlip at last year's MAMA Awards. - I'll be completely honest, I think they're just okay. Haven't done anything that really blows me away so far. The other Starship rookies, KiiiKiii and AEN, have much better music imo. AxMxP - There are a few MVs you haven't seen but this song right here has not even been released yet. It's called 10 Reasons. - Those instruments are NOT plugged in 😭 Hearts2Hearts - Yes, a new MV just came out today. - Love to see Ian getting all the recognition she deserves. Now also MCing this show. This girl is a born idol! - Uhh, what is up with them filming behind the phones of the audience? - I'm not huge on Lemon Tang tbh, but 15-LOVE, which they performed a bit of here, that's some good stuff! - That is a b-side to Lemon Tang, it's not the new song. izna - Top 5 song of the year right here! - Holy shit extended dance break WOW - I'm pretty sure izna have the same kind of contract as Enhypen. The full 7 years. They might be under a different company but both of them did come out of the same survival show. MEOVV - You say you listened to this song 100 times and you don't recognise that this is how it starts? 😂 - No idea how true this is but I read somewhere that Teddy intentionally angered the members with some bullshit just before they went into the booth, so that they would have the right amount of spite and venom whilst recording their lines. - They have a 'workout' version of this song. It's just the ending part 20 times in a row. There's a video of them trying to do it, with the choreo. They do this upbeat pop-rock thing so well. - I'd be down for a Spider-Man reaction. Brand New Day is probably the best Marvel movie in years. But there are some fucking MAJOR spoilers that are gonna pop up on your social media sooner or later, so I wouldn't be mad at you if you did decide to go to the cinema to avoid them. I'm glad I did. - I've made a list for myself of all the Marvel movies and TV shows in release order. Including everything outside of the core MCU, since the multiverse has been canonized. It's a lot but I kinda wanna catch up on everything before Avengers Doomsday 😬 KISS OF LIFE - Sweat is good but damn, Who is she is probably their best one yet. Hope we get to see that one at another big stage like this. ALLDAY PROJECT - I do wonder when they're gonna come out with new material because this song has been out for a good while now... - Youngseo looking a bit like Suzuka from Babymetal with that hairstyle. NEXZ - Brother group to NiziU, formed on season 2 of Nizi Project. - Mmchk is fucking insane, dude. What a banger. - No, Beat-Boxer was before this one. - They don't get NEARLY the attention they should be getting. Maybe because they're a Japanese group? But fuckin hell, you're hearing this, right? - Mmchk Chk Boom MINGI - Turning this festival into a rave! AND2BLE - For reference, their name is pronounced 'And Double'. - I'm not happy with Yuehua breaking up ZB1 and Evnne like that but at least they gave us this song to kinda make up for it. - Ohh yes, EXO vibes, that's a good call! ALPHA DRIVE ONE - Wonder why they're doing Freak Alarm and not their newest song OMG. - Yeah, good song, good performance, but the choice is certainly odd. - OST songs are almost never performed live. Not at shows like this and also not at artists' own concerts. I think it's because those songs are considered to be commissioned projects instead of actual parts of their own discographies. There are exceptions of course but most of the time it will be singers who are known for their OST work first and foremost. People like Sam Kim, for example. BIBI - Bumpa is her newest song, with an MV and all. I think you missed it? - Though I'm pretty sure that MV was mainly a tax write off for her summer vacation 😂 BOL4 - A bit of background. BOL4 (pronounced 'Bolsa'. An abbreviation of Bolbbalgan Sachungi, which translates to 'Blushing Youth') was originally a duo, but the other girl left in 2020 and since then it's been a solo project. You are somewhat familiar with them by proxy because Hyolyn and Brave Girls' Minyoung covered their song 'To My Youth' on Queendom 2. - This is her newest song, called Please Summer! Just came out last month. YENA - DA DADADADA DA DADADADA - You know, other people perform at Waterbomb in swimsuit-like outfits. Yena appears in a full mech suit straight out of Evangelion 🤠 - This is REAL FUCKEN KPOP - Idk man, Wonho doesn't really get invited to these award shows. I wouldn't expect anything. A damn shame because I really want to see Don't Wake Me Up on the biggest stage possible! Summer Kueens - These kinds of collabs are what I watch these shows for! Koko, the woman you are... EVAN - I just hate that Belift was unwilling to accommodate his solo work while remaining in Enhypen. But I do respect that he made a choice there. - Still with a strong vampire vibe 👀 TEN - Yes, he did depart from SM but he is still a member of NCT. WayV just came back yesterday and he's still there. - Enough For Me is a b-side from the Stunner album. - Crazy remix. Sexy bastard. Picheolin - I want Dino and the PPAP guy to do a challenge 🤠 - This is basically the kpop version of the shit that Electric Callboy does - You are most certainly not pronouncing it correctly 😂 The name is a play on the word 'featuring', just said in a heavy Korean accent. - „He gets two?“ There's three, actually! Summer Anjels - A special collab cover stage on SBS doing more to honor Blackpink's anniversary than YGE themselves 💀 - But it's really damn good. Great cover! YGE (and honestly also Blackpink themselves) really dropped the ball on the 10th anniversary. I know you don't like to hear this but I'm 90% sure that by the end of the year we'll get an official announcement of their disbandment. Rumor has it that everyone involved was kinda done with the group after Born Pink. When everyone left YGE to pursue their solo activities outside of the company. They supposedly only kept the group contract going because the members and YGE were still financially dependant on each other. YGE needed Blackpink as their cash cow while they were still building up Babymonster and the members needed that brand recognition to kickstart their solo careers. The Deadline tour and especially the EP were obviously planned very haphazardly, just out of contractual obligations. The EP came out almost a year later than it should have and got ZERO promotions. The tour that it was named after had already wrapped up by then. And then there's that 10th anniversary event. The meet & greet that was obviously slapped together at the last second after fans started complaining en masse that they had nothing planned for this major date. You can tell that YGE didn't expect a shitstorm of these proportions. At first it was announced that 'select members' would appear (wtf, do you think you're tripleS with 24 members or what?). Since only Jennie and Jisoo were actually in Korea at the time, people assumed it would be only the two of them. Took YGE another day or two to finally confirm that all four would be there. I think that Rosé and Lisa dropped everything and flew over to Korea mostly because they knew exactly how bad of a shitstorm they'd be getting if they didn't show up. Long story short, I really believe that Blackpink as a group is over. BABYMONSTER - The eternal queens of Gayo Daejeon! - Yeah, this is in the middle of their Choom tour, they're completely in concert mode 💪🏻 (but when are they ever not, let's be real) - This group performs more live shows than the vast majority and you can really tell. God, I cannot wait for them to come to Europe next year. Ahyeon is probably my favourite 5th gen idol. NCT WISH - I have always wondered: you react to pretty much everything else relating to NCT. So why not the newest unit? Why omit the Wishies? 😞 - You've seen them before on last year's MAMA where they performed their song Color. - They are quite youthful but songs like Sticky remind you, they are very much NEO as well. - They're all over 18, don't worry 😂 ZEROBASEONE - Jiwoong was absent due to some kind of scheduling conflict. - Yeah, it sucks that they're down four members. But we really expected them to disband in March so the fact that they can keep going at all is kinda amazing. - South Korea loves generative AI, unfortunately. - Customize is a b-side from their last album. You have not heard it before. - Uhh. What else do you want to customize on them? 😶 RIIZE - Both of the other songs they did are also from their last album. - Do Your Dance goes pretty hard on stage, yeah. - They have a performance video for D-D-Done if you wanna see that! WONPIL - I'm still working my way through Day6's music videos. It's tough because I'm barely keeping up with all the new releases for everyone else 😭 Haven't gotten to Wonpil's solo stuff yet so I haven't heard this. - Oh shit, a loop pad? - Does anyone else think he looks like he could be Seungmin's older brother? TAEYONG - The Neo King cooking up a storm! - Ooh, nice transition. Red Velvet - It's great to have them back together but I just can't help but worry. Joy and especially Wendy are looking so skinny... - Also, why did they only get one song? We're at the part of the show where everyone does at least 2 or 3! What gives? 🤨 - No, their main era of performing at award shows was almost entirely before you got into kpop. This is actually your very first time ever reacting to a Red Velvet live stage. The only other thing you've seen was Irene solo at last year's KGMA. ATEEZ - San is on my screen for 5 goddamn seconds and he already has absolutely no chill - On misheard lyrics: I definitely heard Hongjoong yell „FUCK OFF“ there 🤣 - Ateez getting the entire kpop industry popping their chests with this one - I yearn for a live performance of Fallin. - One piece of criticism I have: why does Mingi always SCREAM his lines? There's that part in Adrenaline where his voice is quite low. I really like the vibe that creates and I wish he did that live as well. Stray Kids - I listen to the remixes so much that the original Ceremony almost sounds weird to me 😅 - This & That has such a vibe about it that I really like. - Miroh is THE festival song. Such a good choice to end the night! - Right, they've only attended the Christmas Editions before. So SBS Gayo Daejeon is just associated with Christmas for them 😂 I'm pretty sure the lineup was already finalized just before Rescene exploded in popularity. But they will 100% be included in all the year-end shows. They're already confirmed for The Fact Music Awards in September and the Asia Artist Awards in December. And they've been upgraded to the main stage at Kcon LA this coming weekend. UAU, well. Dreamcatcher themselves already barely ever got invited to any shows like this. Their chances are honestly pretty slim. Same for ARTMS. They're really not that famous in Korea, sadly. Le Sserafim and aespa are both on tour right now, no time for festivals like this. Yeah, this show was long enough, stop talking about wanting even more artists 💀 Btw, the next major award show are the TMElive International Music Awards, or TIMA for short. Happening on August 22nd and 23rd, the lineup includes KiiiKiii, Allday Project, Alpha Drive One, Hearts2Hearts, Taeyong, Yeonjun, aespa, Babymonster, Riize, Super Junior, TXT, KickFlip, Nexz, Unchild, And2ble, Evan, Meovv, Nmixx, WayV, IVE, NCT Wish, Stray Kids, Taeyeon and some more artist you're not familiar with. I think you watched Twice perform there last year but that might have been the only one you watched.

Thank you so much for watching all of it, enjoyed this so much. Hmmmmmmmmm So this is interesting .... I usually only watch Stray Kids stages and maybe a few extras on my own and then watch your reactions for other groups ... and I was so annoyed with the SBS camera work for SKZ ... it was ok during 'Ceremony' and then it started to go progressively down hill, esp. after they spoke to the crowd ... and at one point was so jumpy I thought it was a phone recording ... but I just passed it off as being SBS Festival bad camera work as usual ... HOWEVER now having seen the whole show I am even more miffed/ baffled ... cause like you said, overall the camera work was not horrific (Oh other than just shooting an empty stage during ZB1 .... wtf.... goes and bangs head against a wall). I am so happy ATEEZ performed 'The Real' that is still one of my fav songs from them and it has the right vibes for summer ... I think ATEEZ and Stray Kids as always got the memo on the Summer feels cause both sets were great summer festival stages and I just loved it ... only thing that would have made it better was SKZ perfroming their Festival versions... but that might be too much for a TV festival lol. Yay !!! I am sooo glad you stayed for the whole show, mainly cause I would only watch it this way lol ... AND I was really hoping to see Wonpil and the NEXZ performance ... They are probably my next fave JYP boy group after my ult Stray Kids (I am not including Bands though lol). MERRY CHRISTMAS .... and HAPPY CHANGBIN DAY!!

I'm not even a big fan but Babymonster are really on another level, they are probably one of the few groups who are singing live and it's annoying to see how many people don't realize that, like that is how you are supposed to sound live, many groups are using pre recorded vocals.

many groups do that. some have louder backtrack , some quieter, but many actually sing live. but i dont think lipsinging makes a performance fake, if the choreo is tough. i get it

the groups i follow have many members missing right now. like jiwoong from zb1. ald1 had just 6 members here...they usually are 8, or 7..it depends. kateseye wasnt here, but there its the same. yet they still are amazing

I mean support who you like, nothing wrong with that. I just like artists who can actually perform live. What’s the point performing live if you don’t get live vocals. At this point there is really no difference between them and the back up dancers. Don’t get me wrong I know other groups that perform well live but most are just pretty dancers that need help in studio to sound good. Sorry, not trying to be negative or offensive, just telling facts. It’s just weird in today’s kpop how people feel about artists. They rather support a product than actually talent. Which is their right to do so. I just find it Pretty crazy is all

Since you mentioned Felix in a rock song, and since it may not be on your radar, I wanted to mention that the week before This & That released (STAYWeek) SKZ dropped part 1 of another SKZ Replay album (obviously the 2026 ver.) where they release a bunch of their SKZ records and players that aren’t out on music platforms yet! And with this first part they released their solos that they have only ever performed once at their Japanese Dome Tour and then never released, which includes Felix Rev It Up! While it’s not exactly a rock song, I think you would absolutely LOVE IT!!!! It is definitely my favorite on this part 1 as well and I would love to see you check them out as well as any SKZ records or players that are on it that you may have not gotten to, although I can’t remember if there is actually any from it you haven’t done but I would love at the very least for you to do the solos from dome tour and maybe you could even do the performances too!!! 🩵
