Mimic plush WIP 1: Chest test pattern (Patreon)

ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL
Hello everybunny!Today we start with the Mimic plush WIPs ^^. You don't know how excited we were to work on this project.
Of course, to make this plush right, we need a good chest base pattern, because we will be adding all the details to it. Basically, the plush will be built around that.
So we didn't hesitate and started to work on the first pattern test. It will be made of flat 2D pieces, stuffed with quilt batting to give it thickness and stiffness. Since they are flat and simple pieces, we did the embroidery test directly. We want the chest to look like wood, so we added some wavy lines to emulate the wood's irregular texture.Once the embroidery was done, we sewed the purple side and quilt batting ITH. After turning the pieces inside out, we sewed straight lines across the pieces to make the different wood planks. This way the plush looks more realistic and has extra stiffness!
Once we had all the chest pieces, we just pinned them together, a bit like a papercraft haha. This is how this first test looks, and we're honestly surprised of how good it turned out! We think it's so cool and cute.
There are some things to fix. We specially want to make the box shorter, since it's too tall now, and the whole chest less wide, a bit more square. We also want to lower the embroidered eyes and make them bigger. We did a quick edit of how these changes would look like. They aren't too big but we think it makes the chest look way better. We will also probably simplify the wood lines, because we liked them in the drawing, but in the plush they look a bit cramped.
But again, they are simple changes. So we think that the next test we will have the perfect base and ready to work on the rest of the plush. We couldn't help to also draw the details to imagine it better. And we really like it.What do you think? Do you like how it's looking? And the wood details? Can't wait to read your comments!

Hello everybunny!
Estamos deseando leeros!!
