ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Hello everybunny!Today we have new Gomamon WIPs. And probably the last one before showing him finished :D

In the last post we showed you the final head test. Once donem we worked on the ears pattern. They were a bit complex to designe because the make a weird zigzag and stand up. But after a couple tests and some wire, they turned out very cute!

After that we worked on the hair. Our original plan was using minky fabric. It's the one we usually use for plushies and has longer fur than mochi, so the contrast would look good. The sideview looked good, but it was too flat from the front. Then we would've had to make several layers of hair, many different pieces, and that could be too difficult and complex to sew.So at the end we went with the simple option; using faux fur. We wanted to avoid it because it's more expensive and not everyone likes it. But at the end it was the easiest option to sew and it looks very good for Gomamon's hair. Now the head is finished! It was time to work on the body.

Gomamon's body has a problem. The base shape is a seal, but depending on if you're referencing the anime, games or other media, the arms change a lot. Some come out rather low, some are long and flat, others are thick and round... At the end we decided to make them in a way that they would look best on the plush and still be a bit floppy. We made a thin arm that bends slightly at the base, similar to our Lopmon's ears.

With this we did the first test! And for being the first, it turned out pretty good >w< So we made the other legs to see it more complete, and we also put the head.

Here are some photos of how he looks almost complete! Our adorable water seal ;3;We have to shorten the body and make some minor changes to the arms and legs, but it shouldn't take more than a couple tests. Also, putting the head on the body, we realised that the muzzle is a bit high, so we will lower it a bit on the final plush. We also realised that the plushie's head will be too heavy, but it's not a surprise being so big and floppy, and made with such a stretchy fabric as mochi. You can still make it stand with some skill and patience, as you can see in the photos.

With the plush so advanced, we only have to make another test sewing everything with the sewing machine, the body appliques and the final details. We can't wait to make the final plush!Do you like how he is digivolving? ;)

----ESPAÑOL----

Hello everybunny!
