Vulpix plush WIP: Plushie study (Patreon)
Content
You always ask us how we start or how you should start when you want to start a new project (in our case, a new plushie).
The first step, and the most important one, is making a complete study! Each time we have to make a new plushie, we look for all the references possible, and we also draw some ourselves, with comments on the details.
In the case of Pokémon, luckily we have the new generations with the 3D models of each pokémon. We always look for all the views we need and take photos of them, this way we make sure the plushie looks as realistic as possible.
It is important to keep an eye on each detail. We don't only want the plush to look like the pokémon; we want it to look like it just escaped from the game!
Both shape and dimensions. Everything is important. Sometimes it's difficult and we even might skip some detail. But we do our best so it doesn't happen.
Once we have the references, it's time to start with the most difficult part of the plush-making: the patterns.
