Last digivice's batch - Awesome In the hoop (Patreon)
Content
ENGLISH/ESPAÑOLWe've taken more than we wanted making the embroidery for all the digivices. But making 28 of them with 8 different designs takes a lot of time. Even more when the embroidery goes wrong and you have to repeat it. Not only with problems with the thread or such, but also because sometimes our machine decides to go free and does stuff like this:
Without us touching anything, the machine moved the circle upwards. It may seem funny but it's wasted material and we have to repeat the embroidery. And it was really pretty...But, well, leaving bad things apart, we are happy because while working on this batch we came up with a great idea that we think you will love. It's something that we won't post in other places until we try it and decide if it's worth it, but we want to share it with you all; printed fabric for the sprites. The digimon sprites are cretaintly the most difficult part of the digivices, it often gives us troubles and doesn't turn out ok because they are so small. So we thought that, only for the screens, we will order custom printed fleece. Then we will only need to make the applique and the sprites will be perfect!
We don't want to abuse of this method, because for small details it's good, but for bigger stuff or full plushies we don't really like it. But in this case it will be a good way to make them, because we will have to spend more in materials (custom printed fabric isn't cheap), but at the same time we will reduce the making time and improve the overall appearence and quality, at least we hope so ;)
Finally, in the big photo you can see how the in the hoop technique looks like. You can see how perfect the shapes are.
