 ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Well, we're working on the squirrel pattern again. We took a lot to post updates because we were busy learning how to use our new embroidery machine (we'll soon write a post talking about that) and also talking with all our customers to know how are they going with the pandemic. We just want to help as much as we can to the people that need more time to get the money to pay for their commission or even making a couple refunds.

Anyway, let's talk about the important stuff, this WIP.

We needed 6 attempts for this body. The problem with AC's squirrels is that their bodies are short and fat, and making that shape in plush form can easily be too fat or too short. On top of that, most Animal Crossing models don't have a neck, their heads are just put on their bodies, so we had to adapt the pattern a bit to have a neck we could sew the head on.

We're happy with the results. It looks chubby, but not too much. We put the head on it and we like ir a lot. But before we make the final body, we'll try to machine sew the arms and legs to the body. Let's see how it turns out. We're trying to start using more machine sewn seams in our plushies to make them more resistant. We also want to see how does the body look with clothes, we don't want it to look too fat with them on. So our next post will be with the final prototypes of the head and body, and after that, the embroidery!

Honestly, we were tempted to make a more simple body and use it for all the AC plushies. But we didn't feel comfortable with that. We prefer to waste a bit more time and make every animal body different, like the in-game models.

A ver cómo queda. Y después, ¡a bordar!
