ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Well, get ready for the Odissey we're about to tell you. The tail's embroidery has been the embroidery that has given us most trouble in a really long time.

First, we started designing the spiral shape. It was a bit hard to fit it on the pattern, we needed a couple attempts before we got it centered and with the right size. But this wasn't the real problem. The problem came when we stuffed the tail. Since the embroidery was so big and it had such a weird shape, when sewn and stuffed, the embroidery got all wrinkled as you can see in the pictures. They weren't really ugly and many factory made plushies have them, but after such a LOT of effort put on this plush, it bugged us.So we started to make endless embroideri attempts to see if we could solve the problem. We tried to iron the embroidery once done, to glue the fabric to the stabilizer, to not glue it, to use 2 layers of stabilizer... We even bought a thicker stabilizer special for big embroideries and waited a whole week for it to arrive to see it that would solve our problem. But even with it, the wrinkles still appeared.

We were about to give up and try to make an applique, which we weren't very fond of the idea, because it would be super thin and we didn't have any minky colour that matched the threads we had.And suddenly, one of us had a last idea. What if we changed the stitch's direction? The original stitches followed the spiral, meaning that their inclination angles were different in every part of the spiral. After thinking about it, we saw that that was what made the embroidery uneven, and we decided to try to make all the stitches with the same direction, and also make each tail side in one hoop instead of both in the same one, just in case.

And... We were right. The embroidery came out flat and perfect. The tail we're showing you isn't Marshal's, it's just a test because we didn't want to waste more of Marshal's fabric without being sure it would turn out good hahaha

When this sort of things happen, we're happy to be perfectionist and always try to improve ourselves. Because if we had given up on this, we wouldn't have achieved a result we love so much. :)

Do you know what this means? That Marshal... is almost finished.

You guys are so clever to figure it out and to keep trying new techniques to try and fix it even though the wrinkle is (in my opinion) pretty minor!! It really shows how much love you give your plush and the pride you have! I'm excited to see him all together!! Also is the blue test supposed to look like Filbert's tail? Because it instantly reminded me of his, haha.

I bet that is an awesome feeling, to figure out a solution to something like that!! 😁
