ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

IT's time to work on one of the most important parts of the squirrels. Honestly we could've just made a plain tail with a cute embroidery but if you have any squirrel in your game you'll know their tails are very thick and with a very defined shape. So we decided to try to make a pattern more difficult than the ones we had made for similar tails (Squirtle and Vulpix, which we didn't quite like how they turned out).

To get the base prototype, we first sculpted the shape with newspaper and tape. We've shown you this technique previously, and we recommend to use it when you have to make complex shapes.

Once sculpted, we covered it with transparent film and tape, drew the seams and cut the pieces following them. For the curves, it's important to mark darts because they will give most of the curved shape.

The pattern you get with this usually isn't the final one, since it doesn't count the fabric elasticity and other factors, but it's a great starting point, and with just a couple more attempts we got a shape that we really liked.

The tail isn't finished yet, we still have to make the embroidery, which can be a real headache.
