ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Let's show you how is our adorable Digimon going, we were so excited to show his WIPs already.

Today we'll talk about the first head and body prototypes.

Starting with the head, we're really happy because the first test already looked a lot like the shape we were looking for. That's a good signal, beacuse it means that we're learning to make the shapes correctly faster. Even though, we wanted to make some changes on the nose, upper head and jaws. We will also add some darts on the neck in order to, when we scale the patterns up to make the big one, the head doesn't look too square or not round enough. The last head we made still needs some adjustments on the sides and the nose, but we prefer not to make those changes for now. Specially because we want to make the ears first and look how they look on the head, since one of our fears is that when we machine sew the ears to the head, this will loose shape.

About the body, this one is the first attempt. We still need to get a better shape and also make it bigger. But we don't want to make many more tests before trying it with the arms and legs.

If you're wondering why we're waiting to make those pattern changes instead of looking for the perfect shape first, it's because of something we learned while working on the Animal Crossing squirrels. And it's that when you sew together different pieces with the sewing machine, the shape can change when you stuff the plush. For example, when we made Marshal's body and sew the arms and legs to it, the body thickened a lot and we had to change the patterns again when we thought we already had the final ones.

That's why, from now on, always that we have to make different body parts that will go sewn together with the sewing machine, we'll try them all together and make the changes then. At long term it saves a lot of time and materials. Though we recognize that it itches us a lot to use patterns we're not 100% happy with hahaha
