Happy Weekend and Halloween everybunny!Today we have what is probably going to be the last WIP working on the mini squirrel expansion pack, since we will be able to finish them in the following days!
In the last post, we made Sheldon's and Static's clothes, and now it was Poppy's turn. Poppy's embroidery is way more simple than the other two, but it also has more layers and a different pattern. After a couple of tests, since it was going to be so small, we decided to make everything with appliques instead of making so many clothing layers. The hooped embroidery already looked so cute, we love it <3
With all the clothes embroideries and patterns done, it was time to make the clean bodies. We embroidered their cute paws and then we got to the tails. Sheldon has the same tail design as Marshal, so we juwsut had to change the colours. But in Static and Poppy's case, the design was different. Making a new embroidery wasn't a problem, but we had one doubt: should we make it as a full embroidery, or as an applique? We made Marshal's tail fully embroidered because they were 2 thin spirals, but in this case it was a bigger and thicker spiral with a different colour edge, so it was perfect for an applique. So at the end we decided to make both, and made Static's tail full embroidered and Poppy's tail with an applique, since the ivory thread looked dull over a bright red fabric. We will include both options in the embroidery files, so you can use the one you want! ^^We also thought that the applique would be a great idea because big embroideries depend a lot on your embroidery machine's capacity, and you also need a thicker stabilizer than regular embroideries. So basically, the applique is more simple and economic.
Now that we have all the embroideries and pieces ready, we only have to sew everything together and the squirrels will be ready :D So you'll probably have their patterns available as a reward for the Minky tier in November!
