ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Hello everybunny!  Like we said, now that we've finished with SOTN, we can go back to work on commissions and rewards :)

Today we want to show you the plush references we've drawn for our current commission, Melia from Xenoblade. Most times, screenshots and 3D models are enough references, but for humans, we usually have to make a more chibi design with our human base pattern to decide what level of detail we can make, and have a better idea of how it will look when it's finished. Here are the drawings!

The most important thing to keep in mind is that this will be a 30cm plush, so the clothes are small and we can't put tiny details into the design. We have to simplify the details without losing the character's essence. We want her to be easy to recognize. So we had to find the balance between a simplified design and what makes the character recognizable. For example, we won't be able to put all the buttons and decorations on the dress. But we will pot the ones that stand out the most.

We've also used colours that exist in minky. This way the customer can get a better idea of how she will look like.

Anyway, we want to add that this drawing is just a guide. When we work on her and make tests, we will make any change needed. Maybe we have to simplify some parts even more, or we may be able to put more details. Or for example that in the drawing the ponytails are placed separated from each other but in the plush they end up closer. We will always try to make the best plush we can.

The customer liked the design, and he asked us to make a couple changes to the plush (bigger wings and a happier expression on her eyes). But we are happy that our idea was what he wanted for the plush!

We will start the plush by modifying our human pattern, since it's a few years old already. Soon you will see WIP photos :D

----ESPAÑOL----

Hello everybunny!
