Work of the week: Elementallis prototypes + Melia Xenoblade WIP 3 (Patreon)

ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL
Happy weekend everybunny! We'll talk about the work we did this week :)
First of all, now that we're done with the SOTN project, we've been able to start working on our next collab with an indie game. Do you remember the adorable fire plush we made from the game called Elementallis? Well, now we have to make the other 6 elements. Their designs are quite simple, so it shouldn't take us long to make each prototype. And unlike our previous collab, this time the deadlines are frendlier, the plushies are way easier to make and there are fewer units ^^
Back to work, we've started with the water element. For this one, we designed a water drop with some highlights, very similar to the flame. In fact, they have the same base pattern and the same eyes. After discussing it with the game developer, we agreed on making all the elements with the same eyes but with different colours. It took only a couple tests to get a shape we liked, and it looks cute and matches the fire element in shape and size. But just when we were trying the embroidery, our machine started to make loose stitches. We cleaned it and changed the needle a couple of times, but it still made loose stitches. Then we realised it's been almost a year since we last broght our embroidery machine to mantainance. So today we sent it to the sewing machine store to do it a professional mantainance. We should have it back in a week.
And since we can't make any embroidery, we decided to keep working on patterns until we get the machine back. So apart from the water element, we've been working on Melia. Like we sadi in the previous post, we wanted to improve our current 30cm human pattern, since we made it years ago. The first body is made with the patterns we had. The body number 2 is made with the new patterns. We changed things like the shoulders, the body-arm seam, the arms a bit shorter and in a different position... The biggest changes were the body and leg thickness, and that we made the hips wider than the waist. Since the plushie's clothes will be made of minky, the previous body would have looked too cramped, and we think with this new body it will look better. The changes may be subtle, but we really like how it turned out! Do you see the difference?
Soon we will show you the head, which we are also changing a lot :D
Finally, remember that tomorrow we'll have a new plushmaking class. This time, we'll talk about thread sculpting~
