Melia xenoblade WIP 4: Head pattern (Patreon)

ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL
Hello everybunny! After a busy week, it's time to bring you some posts of the work done these days~
We'll start with a new Melia WIP. Like we said, we wanted to improve our current human base patterns. After doing the new body, we started with the head.
The biggest problem the former head pattern had was that, specially when scaled to 30cm, it looked too round, like a ball. And this, when putting the hair and fringe, doesn't look right and it looks like the plush is missing a part of the head. In fact, with Umaru, this was hidden by the hood. So we've worked on a new pattern that allowed us to place everything properly.
After 3 tests, we got a shape we really liked! With pretty cheeks and chin and a head that allows us to put the hair without problems. Here are some pictures with a quick face sketch and a paper fringe. We also put the reference drawing over the photos and we were amazed by how they both fit perfectly! We hope that the plush looks as good <3
We honestly think that we've improved our human base pattern a lot since the previous ones. Sometimes it feels good to take old patterns and try to upgrade them, because this way you see how much you have changed and improved.
And now, with the base pattern done, we can start working on the embroideries and clothes, and start to make the final version of this cuite!
----ESPAÑOL----
Hello everybunny!
