Sprigatito WIP 3: Body pattern + announcement (Patreon)

Good day everybunny <3Today we will share you new WIPs and we'll also announce something interesting~

Let's start with Sprigatito. As you know, the head pattern and embroidery are done. So we started working on the body. Sitting quadruped bodies are VERY complex. They have many pieces and machine sewn parts, with a lot of shapes where you have to think about the stretchiness when working on the pattern. That's why they've always given us, and probably other plushmakers, many headaches. But we wanted to make an adorable, sitting Sprigatito like the one in the trailer. So we had to put a lot of effort on making the pattern right!

Since Sprigatito is a cat, it has a stylized body, so we had to make a small and thin torso, and the bust standing out a bit.

In order to start from a base, we took an old sitting body prototype we had. As you can see, it has a lot of mistakes. The front legs are wrong, the back legs are raised, the butt stands out too much... It may look cute,. but it had a lot of mistakes we wanted to correct. So we started working.

We shrinked the old pattern a bit, and started transforming it. We made 4 more tests in total. Each of them took a full day of work between changing the pattern and sewing it, it was exhausting.In every test, we fized the mistakes a bit more. The most important things were to make the back shape right and better looking back legs. Actually, the third body test already had the shape we wanted, except that it was leaning to the front.

And, finally, on the fourth test, we got a body we liked a lot! It was stylized, with an adorable pose, and even if it's barely noticeable in the pictures, the bust stands out a bit.It still has a couple mistakes we will fix for the final version. Basically, we will lower the bust to make the neck shorter and make the legs touch the ground better. But we are already in love with the result we got!!You can see some pictures with the head and from different angles. (the ear isn't the good pattern yet, it's just a test that needs changes).

It may seem silly, but it's difficult to make this pattern work and look good. We didn't want just a basic sitting pattern, we wanted it to have Sprigatito's shape!

Anyway, this is a kind of pattern that we will be able to improve when we improve our skills, it will evolve with us. And probably, in a few years, we will look at it and see a lot of mistakes and we will fix it again hahaha. But as of today, we like the result ^^With the body done, we only have to work on Sprigatito's details. Ears, cheeks, neck and tail~

And with this, we will now tell you the news. Next week we will be on holidays, so we will finish Sprigatito and pots its patterns in September.

That's why we have decided, seing the popularity it had, that next week Wooper's patterns will be available as a Patreon reward. It's a plush that's easy to make, and the patterns are practically ready to be shared. Buenos días everybunny <3Hoy venimos a enseñaros nuevos WIPs y a daros una noticia interesante~

Empezamos por Sprigatito. Como sabéis, ya teníamos el patrón y bordado de la cabeza. Así que nos pusimos a trabajar en el cuerpo. Los cuerpos sentados son unos patrones MUY complejos. Tienen muchas piezas y costuras unidas a máquina, con muchas formas donde hay que vigilar la elasticidad y el patrón. Por ello, siempre ha sido un dolor de cabeza para nosotras y seguramente muchos plushmakers. Pero queríamos hacer un Sprigatito adorable, sentado, como en el tráiler. Así que tocaba esforzarse mucho para conseguir este patrón!

Sprigatito, al ser un gatito, tiene un cuerpo estilizado, así que teníamos que hacer un torso pequeño y delgado, así cómo poner el pecho un poco sacado hacia adelante.

Para empezar, cogimos un viejo prototipo de cuerpo sentado. Como veréis, tenía muchos errores. Desde las patas de delante mal hechas, las de atrás levantadas, el culo sobresalido... Aunque se vea mono, son bastantes errores que queríamos corregir. Así que nos pusimos manos a la obra.

Cogimos el patrón antiguo, y lo hicimos un poco más pequeño, y empezamos a transformar. En total hicimos 4 pruebas de cuerpo. Cada una de ellas era un día entero de trabajo en cambiar y probar el patrón, super agotador. A medida que hacíamos cada nueva prueba, íbamos arreglando los fallos. Los más importantes eran hacerle una buena forma de la espalda/culo y hacer unos muslos más bonitos. De hecho, en la tercera prueba ya teníamos bastante esa forma, pero se inclinaba mucho hacia adelante.

Y por fin, en la cuarta prueba, tuvimos un cuerpo que nos gustó muchísimo! Se veía estilizado, con una pose adorable, y aunque se note poco en las fotos, con el pecho algo sobresalido.  Tiene aún un par de errores que corregiremos en su versión final. Básicamente, bajarle un poco el pecho para hacer el cuello algo más corto y que las patas lleguen mejor al suelo. Pero estamos encantadas con el resultado que hemos conseguido!!Podéis ver fotitos con la cabeza y de diferentes ángulos. (La oreja no es la oreja definitiva, es una prueba sin más que necesita cambios). 

Parece una tontearía, pero de verdad nos cuesta muchísimo conseguir que este patrón funcione y se vea bonito. No queríamos que fuera un patrón base sentado, queríamos arreglar el antiguo y que tuviera la forma de Sprigatito!

Igualmente, es un tipo de patrón que a medida que vayamos aprendiendo más, irá evolucionando con nosotras. Seguramente en unos años lo veremos con muchos errores y volveremos a corregirlo jajaja. Pero hoy por hoy, nos gusta el resultado ^^ Con el cuerpo hecho, solo nos faltaría trabajar en los detalles de Sprigatito. Orejas, mechones, cuello y colita~

Y con esto pasamos a la noticia. La semana que viene estaremos de vacaciones, así que a Sprigatito lo terminaremos y subiremos sus patrones a principios de septiembre.

Por eso que hemos decidido, visto su popularidad, que la próxima semana tendréis disponibles los patrones de Wooper como recompensa de Patreon.
