Loddle plush WIP 1: Plush study + Base body test (Patreon)

ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL
Hello everybunny! Like we said, apart from commissions and Patreon rewards, we're currently working on two projects with indie games. One of them is secret, but the other isn't and we have permission to show the process. So today we'll talk about out project with Loddlenaut!
Loddlenaut is an indie game about a subacuatic world. In it, they live small axolotl like creatures called Loddles, and we're in charge of making these adorable babies into plushies. In fact, we'll make 50 of them for the Kickstarter campaign backers ^^
As always, we start with the design study. The Loddle has one unique piece for the head and body, then the fins and tail. They gave us a few indications on how they wanted the plush. They want the cheeks puffy, color blocking instead of gradients for the color changes, and the tail tip a bit more round.Without doubt, the most difficult part of the plush is getting a good body shape. Making simple shapes is sometimes complex, but we'll do our best to get it perfect!
We made a couple small tests. But our pattern ideas weren't working at all, so we did a third test, changing completely the face pattern. Here you can see how it's looking :D
It's not the final prototype, we still have a lot of changes to do. But it's a good base to start working with. In the next tests, we'll make the cheeks more prominent and we will fix the body shape, which now looks too wide and short. But even without these changes, it's starting to look adorable, right? ^^
What we're most excited about this project is that we'll make more versions with different colors and expressions, so they will be unique!
----ESPAÑOL----
Hello everybunny!
