ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Hello everybunny! Today we have a new update about our work. In one hand, we're already working on the Bunpinyon's body pattern and probably this week we'll be able to post a cool WIP.On the other hand, we will soon make a poll to decide the class project we'll make starting next week! We'll make the most voted idea ^^  We wanted tp make it before, but with everything that happened with Nintendo, we had to discard many of the ideas and think of new ones, which took some time.

Now back to commissions, today we have an update of our project with the Loddlenaut game. If you remember, we're working with them for one of their Kickstarter rewards and we already started making the plush prototype of the Loddles, those cute axolotl tadpoles. In the previous post we showed the first body base tests. But they still needed some changes, specially on the cheeks. This babie's face isn't flat, the cheeks have volume. The customers wanted them to be visible but subtle. So finally, after several tests, we decided to split the face pattern in two and add several darts to the lower part of the face, and we got the shape we wanted. If you look at the comparation pics, you will see the change we talk about!

Once we had the pattern, we designed the embroidery. The problem we had at first is that the cheek circles are very big, and they passed through every dart we had just added. We tried different tests, sewing the darts over the applique, but we didn't like the results. The circles were deformed and the darts looked weird. So after 4 tests, we went a step back and moved the darts around. The only dart that we couldn't move was the top one, but it's the only one that looks good sewn with the applique.

With the embroidery done, we had the last part left; the gilld and tail! The gills took us 3 tests, trying to get the correct shape and size. At the end, what we did was sew the color blocking and then add an extra seam on the outside to separate the yellow from the orange, to create the gill's membrane. This way we can stuff the orange part and keep the yellow flat. We think it looks good, it even makes the wavy effect like the design ^^The tail wasn't too difficult, just two pieces to get the shape and two more for the membrane. We just want to make some adjustments to it so it firt's the body better.

That said, you can see how this prototype turned out! The details are only pinned to the body, but they already give us an idea of how it looks, and we think it's very close to the 3D model and references they gave us. We're very happy with the result. We will still make some small changes the customers requested and will finish polishing everything. But we won't probably post more WIPs of this prototype, you will see it finished and what we will do is post all the process of sewing the other 55 plushies for the Kickstarter. There will be several colors and expressions, so it will be fun to see!

What do you think? Do you think they're cute?

----ESPAÑOL----

Hello everybunny!
