The Canadian green party has always been a conservative party. Think moderate Republicans with a greenish plan. I like rational national but he's a poor choice to discuss Canadian politics.

I think he's missed the housing affordability crisis in Canada. Please have someone on who understands Canadian politics better.

Canada does not need human suffering to be strong on eliminating class divides and overthrowing oligarchic capitalism. Besides what @Blaise Keller noted above, there is a soft approach by forming worker cooperatives and chipping in with international solidarity by, for example, financially supporting workers who go in strike in France or Greece or Italy or Spain, etc. Also, a spiritual reawakening is also needed and can be done without human suffering, all it requires is developing empathy, to do that you can use your governmetn to sponsor youth to volunteer (paid a stipend of course) to work in impoverished countries for a year before they start college. Heck, for all the tech success in India, the Dalit still live among the cows in the putrid streets and beggars still cut the limbs off their children for sympathy. The suffering does not have to be in Canada for heavens sake.
