Someone has to say this: Harris and Buttigeig are terrible, but one reason why that cannot see the possibility of social democracy is their weird school book view of economics - the power of the public purse. If they understood MMT they'd know the Federal government can always afford anything available for sale in the fiat currency, and that includes all idle labour and M4A and debt cancellation. The constraint on government with a fiat currency is available material resources. If we have enough hospitals and nurses then we sure as hell can afford M4A. Bernie is so good because (apart from his ridiculous Washingtonese conservative conventional view of taxation) his policy set does call for massive deficit spending, and that's exactly what the country needs. #LearnMMT #JobGuarantee #TaxesPayForNothing #TheDeficitMyth
