@54min John MacDonald is going to kill Jeremy Corbyn and Labour. The better labour regulations and job guarantee are terrific policy. But MacDonald is sticking to a neoliberal mindset "fiscal responsibility rule" which completely screws up the reality of the UK money system. Bill Michell has held talks with MacDonald to try to get him to see how the UK is an MMT operation economy, so the government can never run out of UK Pounds and can never go broke, and a fiscal rule limiting the government deficit (==private sector savings) is going to put households into debt. That will in turn force households to cut their spending and thus cause business sales to decline which will produce unemployment and then a recession. It will be a disaster. So FRIENDS DO NOT LET FRIENDS vote for fiscal austerity (fake "responsibility") rules. Someone needs to get this message through to Corbyn so he can set MacDonald straight, otherwise I fear Labour could win the UK election and then induce a massive recession and all the good progressive pro-worker policy will be thrown out with the fiscal responsibility bathwater. The correct fiscal responsibility would be to raise government deficit spending and invest in people and a green economy, the EU market traders are desperate to find productive economic activity to invest in, since they are seeking declining yields and negative interest rate madness. Fiscal austerity rules of the type MacDonald is sticking to will prevent the needed public investment, it'll be a disaster.

@1:02:00 Saagar: "...out of self-interest I want Biden to be nominated.." That tells you all you need to know. Poor Saagar. Inflicted with self-interest. If he truly wants Trump to be a better President he should want the strongest competitor, namely Bernie, out of greater social interest, to force Trump to be better. Saagar is suffering from some mental illness, but I don't know the name of it. Someone help him.

The fiscal rule excludes spending for investment, so will have minimal impact on social democratic policymaking.
