Discussing Elizabeth Warren's failure as a progressive candidate and success as a progressive wrecker. The inablity to differentiate Warren from Sanders. "Warren owes you nothing," and the ironic privilege of the final weeks of the campaign. The WFP bullshit over vote totals. Marxism and postmodernism. Adolph Reed, correct in the comment section of The Nation.

I agree that the whole debacle with how the WFP endorsed Warren was one of the first major red flags in this primary signalling that Warren was definitely NOT a friend of the movement. Aside from the leadership overriding the will of the rank-in-file members then not publicly releasing the vote tallies, let's also remember that Liz's daughter had financial ties to the WFP as well. Meaning already from the onset (not just in this example), Warren was showing herself as someone willing to make shady back-door deals, and as very un Bernie-like. Also, as a presumed "ally" and "friend" of Bernie's, from the beginning of this campaign - and previously in her career - she never spoke out ONCE on Bernie's behalf about the obvious media bias against him, nor even acknowledge it existed in the first place. Meanwhile, she sopped up gushing free media coverage for months, in many cases being given credit for Bernie's ideas and/or record, & never taking a minute to set the record straight nor acknowledge Bernie in any way. Two prime examples being Medicare for All and "proving you can run an campaign built entirely on a grassroots movement, rejecting dirty money, etc., etc. Not only was she given credit for Bernie's stances on multiple occasions without setting the record straight, but in many cases they were stances that she herself didn't hold, or waffled on considerably, hence obfuscating and confusing the issues further. But still, Bernie has ALWAYS gone out of his way to praise Warren and stick up for her, even when entirely undeserved.

i've gotta say i really don't like that you guys are talking like this thing's over. biden is incredibly weak and it's really close, don't stop fighting

RubbishBinMan

i still think a lot of people don't understand what's happened. the democratic establishment played just about every card they had, joe biden had an absolute layup of a super tuesday, he won all the states he was predicted to win but bernie took the big one and did well enough everywhere else that it's a virtual delegate tie. they aren't going to have another day as good as they just had if we keep fighting

Liz Mednick

I agree with Liam. Bernie will be, according to estimates I've seen, about 16 delegates behind Biden and it's now a two man race against a guy with dementia. And with a zillion bucks in the bank and more coming. With only a third of delegates so far assigned. In what universe is that bleak? If I had told you the week after his heart attack that this was where we'd be in March, you'd have been elated.

Bernie will be 200+ delegates behind after tomorrow if he doesn’t swing hard against Biden, and it may be too late. Kyle has a good rant here. https://youtu.be/bb-vx2_5Z_Y

Why isn't anyone talking about the total coordinated assault by the corporate media and the right-wing Dems, and portraying Biden's rise as the result of Jim Clyburn? I am sure Clyburn helped with a large swath of SC voters, but I listened to part of Feldman's show, I listened to Friday's MR with Ben Dixon, and all I keep hearing from the people who actually have a platform to people on our side is that it was last minute voters being influenced by Clyburn and then that 'momentum' in the following days. This totally overlooks the whole 'self-fulfilling prophecy' of Biden that has been perpetrated by the mainstream media since last April when they determined he was the frontrunner the second he entered the race. They protected Biden in the debate before SC. Imagine if Biden had been asked the same loaded questions the moderators asked Sanders & even Bloomberg? Bloomberg spent $600 million dollars promoting himself in the past couple months and he couldnt win a single state on super Tuesday. Why did that happen? Because the media took him out with their questions and then some democrats piled on. The whole theory that money is the most important thing for a campaign, one of the big messages that they have been plugging on these same awful networks for the past few months since Bloomberg entered the race (and when they thought Biden was going to lose) has been totally overturned by the results of Super Tuesday. What has also been proven wrong is my theory that the Mainstream Media has essentially lost their bully pulpit and ability to sway the opinions of the masses in the era of social media and podcasts where everyone has a voice. Before Super Tuesday I had already gathered tons of articles from 'liberal' media outlets that had been published in the one week following Sanders win in Nevada, and the amount is stunning. Literally went to google, typed in Sanders, clicked the News tab and went page by page back until I could go no further and without doing an accurate average yet about 80% were negative, and that isnt an exaggeration. No other candidate was subjected to this type of criticism when the stupid media considered them the frontrunner. I think a lot of us tune out these assholes because they were blatantly biased against Bernie in 2015-16 and nothing has changed, but a lot of people have started listening, watching and reading them since Trump was elected President because they have been portraying themselves as the last torch-bearers of truth in the post-truth era and I think that we really underestimated the reach that they had. I felt this way going into Super Tuesday because I had been collecting those articles and I felt that Bernie was going to lose, but you talk about absurdity of articles. The Castro bullshit, the 'down-ballot' Dems that were supposedly scared.

B. Lund

No one talks about how badly the 'down-ballot' Democrats did with Biden at the top of the ticket in 2010, 2012, and 2014!! We need to get this out there! There are numbers to back it up! The memory of the average American voter is about short as gnat!! we must refresh it for them!!!

Bernie is an honest guy, but let's be honest....even if he won the Presidency, it wouldn't be by much, and he'd be undermined and sabotaged by industry, the media, and the far right at every turn. Do we really think there is chance a critical mass in America is ready to fight that necessary fight back? No chance. It will take an almost a heroic personality. Honesty and good policy simply isn't enough. Someone with real savviness who can turn it back around on media and industry in a way that truly inspires the huge bloc of Americans who don't participate in electoral politics (for good reason).

It's been two weeks but I still return to this audio from time to time. When people were attacking Warren early/mid race I thought they were just being partisans, even during the snake emoji phase. But the non-endorsement of Bernie Sanders convinced me that the left's reaction was genuine. This audio is such a thorough coverage of all the signs we should have seen in Warren. It's evergreen.
