I cannot believe this. I really thought I would just watch this show with Michael for decades...

Michael really changed my outlook on the world. He was incredibly funny and astute in his political observations, but his empathy for all people is what I find most inspiring. It was always clear is main goal was providing dignity to each and every working person. He taught me that compassion and cooperation are the pillars for building a better world. His presence and voice will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in power.

I really feel in awe of you guys doing such a professional and touching show less than 24 hours after learning of this loss. I'm sorry you had to do this so publicly but please know that it really helped so many people with their grief.

I have never felt so gutted before by the loss of a person whom I never met. Political commentators come and go, and they are mostly annoying, but Brooks was of a completely different stamp. He was not only among that very small group of people who are authentically brilliant, but he set himself apart with his hilariously dark Brechtian humor. His grasp of history and politics was unparalleled; in particular, I learned from his ability to center Latin America and Africa in every conversation, which helped to jar me out of my Eurocentric assumptions. I feel such deep sympathy with his family. I will miss his voice tremendously.

Very, very difficult day. I am SO grateful for everyone of his family for helping to ease the sorrow of his loss. Thank you all for everything!! So much LOVE!!

I can’t even bring myself to watch any of the tribute videos yet. It feels like a friend has passed. This is hard to reckon with. Love the work and inspiration Michael has been to myself and so many others. My heart hurts for his family, friends, and his work family on TMBS and MR, this can’t be easy. There is no replacing someone like Michael. All I can hope for is together we can all find a way to continue his work. Fuck this isn’t fair.

This is a huge loss, it immediately shattered me when I heard the news yesterday, just tears and shock. I didn't even know him personally, and yet I was reduced to tears. I just became a patron recently, but TMBS quickly became my favorite political show, not just because of Michael but also the great contributions of David and Matt. There was no one like Michael but I know you'll carry on his work, we'll all have to do our part as best we can to keep things moving forward. Much love to TMBS.

I once got a “thank you” note from Mike for a comment I made on this forum ... I’m treasuring that. I’m so sad about this , the guy fuckin rocked

Watching Michael was what got me into all the worthy ideas and causes the progressive left struggles for in distinction to everyone else. It was always rewarding to listen to him and his guests and to read the materials he referenced. He truly had great promise to do things for the world. I will miss him.
