But why is Yukimi in FRONT of Aruka, on the embark/debark platform? The train is going to pull in behind Yukimi. So where has she just run from? It's like she was already there waiting for Aruka, and Aruka was walking away from the platform when she spun around. So I'm a bit confused by the scene layout.

She isn't? Aruka turned around to see yukimi calling her from the back, and she was facing the other rails (platform 2). And for the ticket, well aruka probably got a wekeend pass, and yukimi has a student pass since she travels more often.

I saw Aruka's spin-around in the comic, but it hadn't occurred to me that she was originally facing an embark/debark platform that is now behind her.

Actually the direction is not really the point, in a train station there are multiple platforms so different trains can come and go at close times. I think this one has at least 4. If you look closely, you can see yukimi point of view in the last panel in the second page

Why do I feel Yukimi is going to faint and Aruka won't have a chance to say anything right there but instead will take Yukimi home, stay the night making sure she's ok and probably go in the morning while she's sleeping. Probably Yukimi will go home to talk to Aruka afterwards. My imagination is running wild 😂

glad you found a place were to read the comic with no issues! Ads on weebtob is the only method Webtoon gives for canvas comic to set up an early access system. It took me a year to unlock that feature and I didn't meant to make anyone annoyed with that :( . Ads are going to disappear from the page after 7 days anyway.

In Japan many people use pay-as-you-go cards like ICOCA for Kansai (the area this story is set in). You basically load money onto the card and then tap in and out as you like. If you enter with the card and exit at the same station, there's gonna be an error, but staff will just let you out, no money paid. Aruka will likely have paid for an actual ticket though, as she won't be using trains regularly due to living in a very rural area
