GTA V & MP3 Xbox 360 Promo disc [Showcase] (Patreon)

Recently I found a dude, who is an ex-journalist. He was selling several Xbox 360 promo discs. Since I am R* fan and an enthusiast, I decided to buy GTA V and Max Payne 3. They were cheap and I couldn't resist. Sadly, MP3 case received a crack during the shipping, but the game works fine! Lucky me.

I think, you will be interested to find more about these promo discs and that was the point to make this post for you. You are the first ones, who will hear their full story.

These promo discs were sent to journalists before the game release. Journalists had a chance to play them and post their reviews slightly before the game release to promote these games. They were given absolutely for free.

As I heard, these discs were always made as cheap as possible. For instance PS2 discs were sent in a jewel case having a different disc and no manual. You can see GTA 3 PS2 example herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YiZ26RPdf0

Speaking of Xbox 360 discs, as you can see, their covers are slightly different having no colour with "Promotional Copy" tag.

The discs inside are different as well having no decal, just plain text.

Mine GTA V copy came with a sticker. Max Payne 3 had a sticker and manual. Cool!

I am 100% sure that you want to know if the GTA V & MP3 are different? Sadly, the answer is no, these are the same games having no difference or whatsoever.

How did I compare them? Simply! By dumping a game with my Freeboot console. All I had to do was to compare CRC hashes. All files are the same.

Why did I open the shell? Well, I don't have a DVD inside, because I installed two additional coolers. Moreover, I don't use it, because I can play the game from HDD.

If you want to find more about my modded Xbox, be sure to let me know that and I will make a post for you. I will tell you why it has a cut off heatsink, orange leds and more.

I hope, it was an interesting post to read. Soon I will post an update.

I also have an idea to make a mini video talking about GTA V promo disc. I think, people will be interested to know about it.

Cheers!
