Revealing next video | August 2018 (Patreon)

Hello there! 

As you already know I continued to investigate various GTA re-releases digging through the game files and looking for unique files and differences. When I started to mess around with the Steam version of Vice City I was pretty amused and I decided that it will be my next video. 😃

It will be a mix between analysis and comparison and, honestly, I am not sure yet how should I name this video. Its working title is "GTA VC - What's wrong with Steam version". Of course, it sounds like the Steam version sux again, but the truth is, it isn't.

The steam version isn't horrible as San Andreas version, but I would call this version "a weird version of Vice City" and there story behind it is weird as well. I want to talk about it in my video. For instance, I will answer to the question why you can't use your retails saves on this version. Moreover, I will bust some myths and uncover lots of interesting facts about this version.

I don't really want to spoil these facts, but be pleased to know that I am going to talk about macOS Steam version as well. This version doesn't even look similar to the steam PC version and I don't know why. It has different content. I think, you will be interested to know these changes.

I hope to finish the script in the near future, but currently there are some gaps in it as I have some troubles.

At the same time FireHead is looking through the game code and prepares me a list of changes. It will gives us a better understanding what the developers changed in this version. To achieve this, he made a dumper, which allows him to compare the code from various Vice City versions, but it isn't so easy as there is Securom DRM.  ☹️

Sadly, I don't know how to launch macOS version and film these changes. First of all, I don't have a mac and secondly, vmware doesn't support something and I can't even launch Vice City with it. I might install Hackintosh, but I am not sure yet.

Unfortunately, I am still missing a lot of GTA re-releases and I can't say for sure which changes were implemented before the Steam version and which ones are actually unique. On the other hand, I know that the macOS version in "GTA - The Trilogy" is basically the same version as the Steam macOS release. Thankfully, I bought it a month ago. 🤫 

Right now I have both New Audio and Old Audio versions in my Steam library. As a result, I will talk about both of these versions. Thankfully, I managed to buy New Audio version two weeks ago and it was a pure accident that I did it. 👀

Unfortunately, I am still missing Australian Steam version of Vice City. As steamdb states, it should be a different version and since I don't have it, I can't talk about it. Maybe it is the same, I dunno.
