hi!

i've been working on this for a couple months, i didn't wanna say anything ahead of time since it was meant to be smaller in an attempt to streamline my video process but as usual it ended up large and big and such.

this time it's about PROFESSOR LAYTON, a game series a lot of people are familiar with but seems to rarely get scrutinized by those who aren't huge fans. i hope this provides a unique light on the topic since i rarely ever hear discussion about these games aside from "oh, yeah, i had that on my DS, it was cool, i never got far though".

if you think these are just cute puzzle games, you're probably in for a shock -- it turns into a cinematic fantasy epic about halfway through and it also kind of sucks. it's the first time i've covered something i'm not new to so my own slowcooker of feelings might've steamed out here.

thank you for watching and sticking around if you have -- it's been a rough year so far, so i'm sincerely grateful for the support. i'm gonna take a break now, no rabbit was ever meant to think about professor layton for this long

how PROFESSOR LAYTON grew backwards

what happens when an RPG developer tries to mix adventure games and puzzles? what happens when their concoction hits it big? i'm sorry, this is professor layton. https://smudgebap.com patreon - https://patreon.com/smudgebap ko-fi - https://ko-fi.com/smudgebap 00:00 - intro 08:33 - part 1: an "anthology" 21:06 - part 2: they're kind of grifters 32:22 - part 3: endless expansion
