Because none of what you said makes sense. They're talking about a federal law and Maya living in Texas does nothing to increase the apportionment of representatives in Congress for Texas. Also, Texas doesn't have a state income tax, so most of the taxes Maya pays are to the county and local governments, and the Austin area is the most left-wing part of Texas. Maya doesn't "support Texas" like you said.
