How To Do The Perfect Side-Chain Workflow (Patreon)
Content
In this video you will the learn what I consider the best technique for side-chain ducking on both the Digitakt II and the Digitone II. Make your music sound farm more polished and bump to subtle or deep rhythms of volume ducking.
Side-chain ducking is a popular music production technique where the volume of one sound is automatically lowered in response to another sound. This prevents the two sounds from clashing in the mix, creating space for the kick drum to be more prominent and impactful. The result is a cleaner, more rhythmic, and professional-sounding track. It can be a subtle effect for polish or a more aggressive one to create a "pumping" or "breathing" feel, which is very common in electronic dance music.
Follow this short tutorial, it's a great technique!
