I am happy to share one of my newest tracks, which I wrote and performed on the same day of the show—it can be done! 'Lyubov' means 'love' in Russian or Ukrainian, depending on your perspective. My family heritage includes Italian, Ukrainian, Swedish, and German roots. My grandmother was 100% Ukrainian, and although we didn't spend much time together—due to her living in Queens, NY, while I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of Washington State—I have fond memories associated with her. This track evokes memories of visiting her home and riding the subway through New York with my cousins as a child—those were times filled with excitement and intrigue. The song was made using the re-recorded Amen break, which I sliced on the Digitakt. The acid bass comes from the TB-03, and the leads and bass line were created with Syntakt. If you're interested, I can delve into more details in the next Elektron Talk.
All the best,
Matt
