Very excited to finally announce this!..

On July 12th, I’ll be hosting a special in-person guitar workshop at Nottingham Contemporary alongside the wonderful Adam Levy.

We’re calling it “Connecting The Dots” - an evening focused on improvisation, phrasing, harmony, creativity and learning how to truly “nail the changes” in a more musical and connected way across any style of music.

This won’t be a flashy shred-clinic type of thing. The idea is to create something relaxed, warm, inspiring and genuinely useful for players who love roots music, jazz, blues, Americana and tasteful guitar playing.

We’ll be digging into:• improvisation concepts• melodic awareness• navigating chord changes• phrasing, feel and tone• musical connection across the fretboard• getting more out of your looper practice• and the deeper stuff that often gets overlooked

Tickets are £65 and include a complimentary drink on arrival. At the end of the session lesson materials on all key concepts discussed will be provided for you to take away with you. We also have plans to film a bunch of clips of the session, which I will of course share with all attendees. To keep the workshop personal and interactive, attendance is strictly limited to just 30 people.

I genuinely can’t wait for this one. Adam is one of my favourite musicians and thinkers on the instrument, and I think it’s going to be a really special evening.

One of the great things about Nottingham is how easy it is to get to by train, bus or car with it being fairly central, so I’d really encourage people to make the journey if they can. I have a feeling this is going to be a really memorable night.

We’re hoping it’ll be the first of many, and we’re already talking about doing another in November if this one goes well.
